The drops of Bitcoin is also a reason but not the main one of this recent spike as I do believe this is uptrend which will keep increasing and momentum will be huge to push the market further high after every passing day. This market is waiting for some mega pump to take it all time high where it should be.
Hard fork, Coinbase, Moonbase? I'm just excited to see the full node run on a smart phone, and surprised there isn't more comment on it. There's a lot of discussion on reddit, just not so much on here https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/651un2/monero_v01031_cli_for_android_arm64/It's a nice project for the full-fledged crypto geeks to tinker around with but unfortunately, it's not a practical application to further Monero's functionality and use case and thereby promoting mainstream adoption moving forward. I think what's really needed instead is a working smartphone app that is able to connect to a remote node especially a private one that is being run at home or any other location that one has control over. That's much simpler than running a full node on a smartphone which taxes its resources to the max. Not really. And there might be some mods that make it more functional for those concerned with resources. E.g., you don't actually need to be *participating* in the p2p network in order for your node to be functional for sending transactions. Just have the node in a push only mode while your on cellular data. And then when your plugged in and on wifi, the node can switch to full participant mode to catch up on its blocks. Remote nodes are nice too, don't get me wrong. But running a full node on a phone is just awesome. Running a full node on a phone is indeed awesome. Believe me, I gave the earlier method a shot but couldn't get it to work. It's probably just me screwing things up in the process as I'm just a regular Joe who's a geek wannabe and sucks at this level of computing interface; and there are a lot of full-fledged average Joes out there that would be turned off by such complexities. I'm thinking of a simple working XMR mobile wallet app. A fine example is BTC's Mycelium. Ideally, it would be connecting to a secure/trusted node designated by the devs by default so it works out of the box for the sake of the average Joes. It would then have the options to connect to other (private) nodes of one's choice for the wannabe geeks and to a local node for the full-fledged geeks or the adventurous wannabes. Kinda like a mobile version of the Monero Wallet GUI. There you have it. The best of all worlds.

Hello, everyone. I am using moner almost more than a year and it's awesome. Recently My ISP started to block my connections to monerminning pools(dward, nanopool, minexmr). What tool could help me sipher minning connection like SSH or VPN do for Web browsing ? What do i need to use to connect all my miners to a server which has active connection to nanopool and helps me find a new way to a pool ?

Read the paper, results are legit. Anyone who has used Monero on the dmns time to scrub! It's based on 2 year old research, when the Monero minimum mandatory mix-in count was 0. Today Monero requires a bare minimum of 2-mixins (for a total of 3 participants) in each transaction. E.g. What this paper written by ZCash people alludes to was a problem that was fixed one or two hard forks ago.

you can set up an i2p router and then mine to xmrpool.net - https://moneroworld.com/#i2p

^ Tor or a VPN or a cheapo VPS with SSH tunneling will also work. Pool connections are just TCP (with reasonably modest bandwidth requirements). Anything that allows a TCP connection to get through will work.

LOL FUD and lies continue Save 30 seconds of your life and skip to the last paragraph, if you think you can get the stink of cointelegraph off of your browser. Otherwise treat it like anything else they publish, and don't bother at all.

Otherwise treat it like anything else they publish, and don't bother at all. That last paragraph is what demonstrates that the article ISN'T FUD. But you didn't stop to think before your knee jerk reaction, did you? It is what it is, nothing more and nothing less, both sides of the coin, and with so much talk here about the subject and nobody having posted the article, I thought I'd throw it out there for you, without predisposed bias and to be treated as objectively as was written. Next time try being civil and thinking a bit.
