Do you know if there is some kind of node verification process? Like checking if the node is legit. It would be great if the wallet can somehow check and verify if the node is ok. I mean what is the risk using a remote node - risk about the money or risk about the privacy only.

Some modest privacy risks. Some risk that you might get fake or broken chain data. This doesn't directly risk your money but you could be tricked. For example, you might see your payment not being confirmed and be convinced to resend (now you have paid twice).

Your private keys stay on your local wallet itself, running on your own computer, which signs all transactions locally, so your funds can't be directly stolen by the node in any way.

Overall it is reasonably safe, but not quite as fully safe as your own node.

There is not that much people that are using Monero compared to Bitcoin. With not that many people using it, the price of Monero is not going to surpass Bitcoin anytime soon.

While punters will always chase the speculative momentum of the day wherever it is found, the smart money, the slow money, the big money is much more concerned about risk management than speculation. XMR provides a unique value proposition in this area: Money which cannot be seen, cannot be stolen.

The long-term upside to being the natural inheritor of the crown of global digital cash is orders of magnitude beyond the scale of any "tarpit-complete" "ponzi-node" or "developer's tax-donkey" snake oil fad. Nothing about this story has changed in the past 3 years, except the nearness of its denouement. (Which I now believe to be imminent.)

Meanwhile, there is still a lot of hard technical, social, and business enterprise work which needs to be done in order to realize those potentials. My advice: Invoice in XMR whenever you have pricing power. Mine them, even when it is temporarily unprofitable, and do not sell, unless it is to create a new Monero user. The main reason I have a job is so that I never, ever, need to net sell XMR, no matter what happens to my other investments.

Ive deleted the folder, so far its appearing to download the blockchain.

Hopefully it works.

download the blockchain.raw, and run monero-blockchain-import.exe
done, restart monerod.exe to sync

and any help to me ?
when I transfer xmr to exchange on my wallet, its say:

Error: Reason: double spend

I tryed twice, restart wallet, etc, its always : double spend

and daemon info:

daemon.rpc said: On_send_raw_tx: tx verification Failed

maybe low transfer fee wrong ? but cant set it

any good idea ?

I recently found my monerod was stuck at block 1288639. Then I realized I was still running 0.10.2.1.

With this hard fork would you recommend deleting the blockchain and letting it sync from scratch? Are there any gains to doing this, as with previous versions?

edited to add: or the transaction could be stuck in your daemons mempool for some reason and not being relayed. Are you running your own daemon?

(which are needed in case of disputes) and recipient addresses
(which may come in handy from time to time).
In this case it's better to first open monerod and
type "flush_txpool". Subsequently, open monero-wallet-cli
and type "rescan_spent".
