You've done a lot recently to undermine your own credibility, as you're clearly just being a Fluffy sycophant.
It's rather telling you disputed exactly zero of the facts in my post, choosing instead to merely attack me for relating and analyzing them. Perhaps you are just still salty because I utterly demolished your attempt at rebranding BBR to the (atrocious and universally reviled) "Rune" label? Do you likewise consider GMAX a "Fluffy sycophant" with undermined credibility for posting this? https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/6dcter/are_yall_on_drugs_help_me_understand_this/ Fluffypony has at every turn that I've seen behaved with integrity and intelligence. His thoughtful manner has been an essential component in the bringing in the support (or at least tolerance!) from intelligent people elsewhere resulting in advancing Monero through things like RingCT and protecting Monero through things like the discovery of the recently disclosed key image small subgroup handling flaw. I will not be cowed by your attempt to heap retaliatory opprobrium on me for explaining and defending the wisdom and necessity of Fluffy's constructive epic prank. Everyone can see that my posts contain actual analysis, whereas your own simply asserts your bias and calls me names for disagreeing with your opinion. My credibility is nearly beyond reproach and I've been here longer than you, so why in the world would I GAF about your plebeian basic bitch opinion? Your own words, eat them: #REKT You've done no analysis. You've merely been enthusiastically parroting what Fluffy's said, with some extra cheerleading mixed in, as would be expected from a sycophant. I'm impressed you spent so long digging up completely random, three year old posts and using them out of context. I'll feed one of yours back to you: "Yes, and everyone should be forced to take spelling, speech, and debate lessons before exercising their 1st Amendment rights is allowed." I couldn't agree more! Maybe then we wouldn't have to read the rambling, semi-incoherent nonsense that you spam all over these boards. #REKT and, more importantly, #IGNOREDLots of whining about *me* in your post but no response at all to gmax's post. Gee, looks like I touched a nerve. Bad memories from when Monero hurt you perhaps? Are you going to petulantly Ignore gmax as well, just as you Ignore the fact Fluffy is not the Professional CEO of Monero? Fine, don't manage your expectations for FOSS contributors and quixotically hold them to standards of the private sector business world. GLWT.

Regarding lack of documentation, see phishead's answer. The forum has been quite inactive since the beginning. It is currently mostly used for forum funding system proposals.
Newbie can't write reliable docs, isn't it? What does it means "forum funding system proposals"? To gather money for forum's maintenance?

It could be that node.moneroworld.com is offline. Could you try node.xmrbackb.one?

Wallet will not sync. It freezes at a certain point.
To clarify, it is stuck on a certain block right? Could you post which block? Also, which wallet are you using and on what operating system? I have two W7-x64 each running GUI and another W7-x64 with both GUI and CLI. All are 0.10.3.1. I don't think the issue is related to a particular block as all my nodes are stuck at different blocks; I guess depending upon when they were last synced. In my case, I last synced each one of them successfully at different times yesterday. It seems they all got stuck when I tried to sync them today (blocks 1317541, 1317523, 1317324 and 1317397). Could both you and Fire Rabbit try to add the following flag: On Windows the full command becomes as follows: monerod.exe --block-sync-size 20 Note that this command should be executed from the command prompt. If you don't know how to open the command prompt, it is done as follows: Go to the directory the monerod is located and make sure your cursor isn't located on any of the files. Subsequently do SHIFT + right click and it will give you an option to "Open command window here". Lastly, type aforementioned command. On Linux and Mac OS X: ./monerod --block-sync-size 20 Note that this command should be executed from the terminal. Will do. Can't I just put the flag in the "Daemon startup flags" field in GUI in addition to my "--data-dir" flag that's already there (explicit data directory location)? Yes, that should work too. Coolness! The flag works. Nodes are syncing again. Thank you. Is this something to be fixed in the next release or do we have to keep using this flag from here on/moving forward? Just thinking ahead. Not entirely sure if the block size batch will be lowered for next release. I think, however, that it might be prudent to do so, because I've seen numerous people getting stuck on a certain block.

Synchro lasts for a long 3 days, and not finished yet. There is a lot of messages like this: 2017-05-28 10:14:35.411 [P2P9] ERROR net.p2p src/p2p/net_node.inl:819 [27.0.235.18:18080 OUT] COMMAND_TIMED_SYNC invoke failed. (-3, LEVIN_ERROR_CONNECTION_DESTROYED) Is that OK (that there is A LOT of them)? Is there no way to filter out dead nodes faster?

A crowdfunding platform. It can be used to fund anything Monero-related.

You could delete p2pstate.bin. On Linux it's in $HOME/.bitmonero. Note that this directory may be hidden. On Linux you can generally unhide directories with CTRL + H.

Newbie can't write reliable docs, isn't it? What does it means "forum funding system proposals"? To gather money for forum's maintenance? The Forum Funding System is used to raise funds for development. Much but not all is code related and it is up to the community what they will fund with their donations. The forum itself is being redesigned and this will hopefully increase both the usefulness and traffic of the forum. You can go to the Forum>Development>Funding Required /or Work in Progress to see some of what has been funded and work that is and has been done.

Thanks, this is the best coindesk article I've ever read. I'm quite surprised it does not seem biased at all. I'll be sharing this link.

Positive Coindesk article about Monero could also mean that they dumped ZEC at the peak a week ago, now they bought XMR on dip, rinse and repeat with any coin they think its hot atm ... Also there was one even more interesting article that was released 5 days ago when Monero started to rise: https://coingeek.com/what-real-leadership-looks-like/I'm not sure about Coingeek since before that article I didn't even knew about that webpage, but the timing was so ... Anyway, I don't really need a fancy article to know where to put my last BTC in, last deposit finally arrived to Bitfinex after 10 days of waiting for retarded BTC blockchain to do its job (even with 0.0007BTC TX fee) - instantly converted to XMR Now just one friendly suggestion for fellow traders - based on my experience over past few months, trading XMR on Bitfinex feels much better than on Poloniex because: - Bitfinex has no withdrawal limits for anonymous users. Its really not cool withdrawing XMR from Poloniex without KYC because of 2000usd limit (only about 50 XMR per day atm). I don't even consider filling KYC form since staying anonymous on exchange acts as additional privacy layer to my XMR stash. - Bitfinex trade engine is really good, there were no lags or disabled deposits/withdrawals so far. - Bitfinex liquidity and trade volume on XMR markets (especially XMR/USD) improved a lot over past few months. Some really nice fat buy/sell walls there and volume is also good. Any average trader (less than 5k XMR) will find Bitfinex liquidity and volume quite comfortable. Poloniex currently has an advantage only for whale traders (10k XMR or more). - With all those shitcoin pumps that smell on insider trading miles away, and insane volume that measures in hundreds of millions USD per day, its only matter of time when Poloniex will get same attention from US regulators as those Chinese markets got from PBOC few months ago. I'm not advertising Bitfinex here, just sharing my user experience since I've been using both exchanges for casual trade. Also I'm bit worried cos there are maybe millions of XMR on Poloniex right now, and no matter how strong and secure Poloniex may be - they could be the major weakness of whole Monero project atm.

Hey all I'm having issues getting everything synced. My blockchain was only 72 days behind, but took a week to sync the Daemon. Now I'm refreshing my wallet and it has been 4 days and counting, still have 20k blocks to refresh through and going at a rate of 1 block every 20 seconds and keeps getting slower. Is there a way to save my progress mid refresh, any flags I can start my wallet with to save as it refreshes, or any assistance on getting my wallet to refresh quicker?

I had similar problems too, could be that some nodes have poor upload speed which results in very slow sync. Saving progress then restarting monerod could result in connecting to better nodes (I think nodes are selected randomly, am I right?) and speeding up the process. To save progress in monerod just type save in daemon window and hit enter, to close daemon type exit and hit enter. I always start monerod and wait for the message that sync is done, then start the monero-wallet-gui, feels better that way.

Synchro lasts for a long 3 days, and not finished yet. Are you stuck on a certain block? Or is it just slowly fetching new blocks? It took 4 days to sync with blockchain, which is only 17 GB in size. Seems too long.
