Hello. Can someone help me ? Yesterday i've sent some Monero to Okex exchange from my wallet with default settings and coins are still not there. I've created a ticket to support and provided all requested information to them, including tx id, payment proof, etc, and then they just suggested to "contact the platform your withdrew XMR from for more information".
tx id: f96b2654c6788c22c2c9e48b958f8d026e54c6a5d24a544c5130036cfd2171b7

What should i do next ?

Which wallet are you using?

I'm using Windows x64 GUI 0.12.0.0 client
It shows zero in balance and it shows my transaction in History tab with all the details about it which was provided to Okex support with no result, coins are still somewhere between point A and point B

You have to use the address Okex provided you, the transaction hash / ID (obtainable from the GUI), and the private tx key (obtainable from the GUI as well).

Has Monero been more profitable for miners after the fork, which happened several days ago?
Has new algorithm can be really ASIC-resistant?
Just only adding pow7 in your conf file. Ofcourse it will more profitable than Eth mining at the similar rig type.

[1] GUI 0.11.1.0 should still be good for signing transactions as well as for new wallet creation "offline", right?

[2] If so, could an offline GUI 0.11.1.0 sign transactions from subaddresses on an online view-only wallet running GUI 0.12.0.0?

For some reason, GUI 0.12.0.0 crashes on my offline machine (W7 x64 netbook) which never had such issue with the prior version. Here's the GUI log content after it crashes; hopefully someone could figure it out:

2018-04-22 02:04:21.182   456   INFO    logging   contrib/epee/src/mlog.cpp:185   New log categories: *:WARNING,net:FATAL,net.p2p:FATAL,net.cn:FATAL,global:INFO,verify:FATAL,stacktrace:INFO,logging:INFO,msgwriter:INFO
2018-04-22 02:04:23.257   456   WARN    net.http   src/common/util.cpp:627   Failed to determine whether address '' is local, assuming not

[1] That should still work, but it'd probably be best to keep the versions consistent.

[2] That I am not sure about. I guess you could try and see if it works. If not, you ought to upgrade to GUI v0.12.0.0.

Try launching via the start-low-graphics-mode.bat batch file that is included.

Thanks! The batch file did it though obviously, the graphics is not as sharp but it works and that's what matters the most.

BTW, do the subaddresses (and the primary address) each have a separate balance or are they combined. I just wanna know what to expect before I take the plunge and explore it.

That proves you correctly sent your funds to Okex. In other words, it's an issue on their end. I'd advise to, again, contact their support.

Hello to all,

I have a problem:
I created a monero wallet from moneroaddress.org
so I sent 2.17999 from kraken to the created address,
I entered monerujo from android device with the view key and I instantly saw the transaction unconfirmed, thinking it was all ok I closed, after a few hours I came back to see if everything was ok and the transaction did not appear and the balance of the wallet was 0. I tried to get on mymonero with the seed and also I balance 0.
after contacting kraken I was told that their system was successful and they told me to try installing the wallet 0.12.0.0 or newer.
I tried to install it, if I try to import the wallet with the keys insert address view key and spend key but do not appear the arrow to continue, if the amount via seed the balance is at 0 but the public address that appears to me is different from the one created by moneroaddress.org.

transaction id: 77964812131c15442ade7f183172e495e5542c6e04fb7ecd5e6c18b3819c280f

Is there a possibility that the created wallet and its keys are tied to a previous fork?

Can someone help me?

Hello, is it true that if I turn all my BTC in monero and back in another wallet, they will be completely untraceable?

If you meant "back in another (BTC) wallet", then yes, it will acquire untraceability/anonymity at that point to the extent that Monero could offer. But then again, eventual transaction on that new BTC wallet would reestablish traceability, depending on the obfuscation methods you employ from that point on. Why not just stick and stay with XMR then?

Trying to "mix" your bitcoin in a tumbler is pretty much crap. It doesn't really work. What you describe isn't just a way to anonymize your bitcoins, it is, as far as I am aware, the only way to anonymize your bitcoins. It is the only way to actually achieve what people think they are achieving when they use tumblers.

Don't forget to use tor and vpns and what ever else though as well. Hiding your block chain activity is only half the battle, you also have to conceal your IP address.

How to create backup for the Wallet?

For GUI on Windows, copy and save the wallet files (Documents\Monero\wallets) and the seed/keys (Settings/Seed & Keys).

Could you first use this guide to verify that your transaction correctly arrived at your address?

I solved right now ...
the problem was that the 'GUI' version did not load correctly the Wallet from keys, monerujo and mywallet gave me 0 transactions and 0 balance, I tried the 'CLI' version and I saw the light Smiley
sincerely after this negative experience I will stay away from monero wallet as long as they are more user friendly.
thank you

How to create backup for the Wallet?

You can back up the .keys file like visdude said above, but I think the best solution would be to write down your 25 seed words and keep them some place safe. Smiley

That is the best way to make sure you don't lose your coins but it is also useful to back up the wallet cache file itself since it contains useful extra information beyond the minimum needed to recover coins (payment ledger, per-tx keys for proving payment).
