There was lot of hype for bullet proofs feature's implementation and if not everyone but most people were expecting its impact on XMR's price. This activation immediate benefit has shown by reduce in withdrawal fees from exchanges. Monero once again has shown to be best than many others. Market should show uptrend anytime without prior alert so hold on tight as speculative phase is approaching fast.

Bull market forms for a long time. Imagine it like boiling water cooking. And the breakout will happen when we will least expect.  Bulletproofs and all development and all publicity that Monero is gaining right now are just adding the steam.
recently, around the coin goes a lot of rumors, I think the hard fork is a good but it does not solve the real problem. but I believe that anonymity will be in gold next year

Actually the fork or protocol upgrade was amazing. So as all the previous were amazing since each of them brought new and needed things to Monero. Yes for sure there are more things needed in future, but without protocol upgrades in 2015, 2016 and 2017 Monero would look close to the bytecoin shitcoin.

Does anyone know if the Monero team recently changed the cryptographic commitment scheme(ie, Pedersen commitment) previously used in Monero to something else? Or modified Pedersen commitment?

You should ask that in dev channel on irc.

Did you shut down the GUI whilst the daemon (monerod) was performing the database conversion?

Hi no I just left it running

You may have, inadvertently, incurred a blockchain corruption then. I'd advise to perform a blockchain resync from scratch:

Anybody use monerujo? what is the "public sub address"?is that a one-time stealth address? untrackable? And next question.  I created a new wallet from nano s however syncing is taking some time. Do i need to leave nano s connected during syncing?

No it's simply a public address that is unlinkable to your main public address (the one that starts with a 4). More information can be found here:

https://monero.stackexchange.com/questions/3673/what-is-a-sub-address

And next question.  I created a new wallet from nano s however syncing is taking some time. Do i need to leave nano s connected during syncing?

No. The Ledger device has to remain connected during the syncing progress, otherwise the progress won't be saved.

Not sure if this is the correct place to ask but I wonder if Monero will get listed on any of US based exchanges?

When I try to make a transaction with GUI v0.13.0.4 and the Ledger Nano S on Windows 10 I have this error message:

unexpected error: Unable to send hidapi command. Error 64: L

Edit: after several try I managed to make a transaction. I guess I should be happy.

Note that it could be that your USB cable is slightly damaged and therefore inhibits the GUI from functioning properly.
