For people looking to sync their linux machines, I have uploaded a recent blockchain.bin here: DOWNLOAD

Where do I put this file blockchain.bin? This is going to take forever to sync.

I type "save" and "exit" but I do not see blockchain.bin anywhere.

It's in .bitmonero

exit the node, put the file you downloaded from the above link into that directory, and then restart the node

Sorry, I forgot to tell you I am on windows. Will this file work for me?

Sorry I don't know anything about the Windows version. Anyone else know?

I don't know anything about too

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Can anyone explain me why would anyone invest in this currency instead of Darkcoin, Zerocash, Anoncoin, Fantomcoin or Quazarcoin??
Darkcoin is going to implement bytecoin's technology afaik so..

Going to.. Monero already did it.

But go with your own guts. That works out for me better most of the time.

But Darkcoin has more features than Monero right? And evan seems like a legit developer, so I dont see the problem.
Once an anon coin makes it as #1 anon coin then it's pretty much over IMO.

dude darkcoin may have more features but its not fully anonymous... at least monero is alot more anonymous by far, plus features will be worked on.... and its a byte clone... but byte has billions of coins when this has a fraction of that

I sold all my MROs in the yesterdays dumps Sad. I don't have any at the moment - very silly. I hope I'll solo mine a block. Someone willing to send me 1? Thank you.

Darkcoin is going to implement bytecoin's technology afaik so..

from your post history likes like you have a preference for dark coin.
please review the op and much of your questions will be easily answered.
basically different techology. not a bitcoin clone.

Yes, I know, but Monero is a Bytecoin clone. Thats my worry. Why invest in Monero when it depends on Bytecoin's devs basically.

it doesnt. has nothing to do with bytecoin devs
again you would have come to this conclusion by doing at minimal a review of op.
also review bytecoin thread.

About 450 Smiley I panicked in the FUD with the 50+% farm mining.  I wanted to make sure I could pay for my electricity bill and buy something for my baby. I'm continuing to solo mine with 73 H/s on core i7 3610QM.

I'd like to send you a little as well, for the baby - so if the cryptonote exchange ops could get a move on with withdraw approvals (I've been waiting ages) you'd make more than just me a little bit happier.....  Wink

I was wondering if this coin is a good buy, but I saw that this coin traded for 80% less than yesterday, why did it go down so much?

Zoom out and you can see the first sale took place around 10k sats which is an obnoxiously high price so the calculator is displaying a loss because it is incorporating that initial outlier into the analysis

now quit trolling and buy monero. these are still DIRT cheap this is not the ground floor gentlemen, this is the basement. Hurry up.

I have no idea what you are looking at. This coin was trading below 0.001 yesterday. When it first started trading at poloniex it was a bit over 0.001, now (as I write this) it is over 0.002. Of course there are ups and downs, but this coin as a long and exciting future ahead of it. Of that you can be certain.
