Haha, I think you are.  Do you want to bet on a RigBox, too?  I'm open to the idea... Smiley

I might take you up on a bet (as a small hedge for lost BTC on late delivery):

If I ordered today (Sonny has consistently quoted 12-15 weeks delivery time on Mini-Rigs) I expect the Rig-Box to be shipped no later than the next business day after 15 weeks, that would be August 6 (right?).
Given the large sum the order might go through by Monday (special requirements, I'll cancel some BFL Single for that).

So my Rig-Box ordered no later than Monday April 24th (by 4pm CDT) isn't been shipped by Monday August 6 end of the day CDT, you will pay me 200BTC (nice round sum, sorry not the full rig-box amount) within 2 weeks of that date (and I reserve the right to cancel my rig-box order then).

If it gets shipped by Monday August 6 end of the day, then I'll give you the first 200BTC mined with it.

What do you say, are you interested?

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Nope, not interested in that.  If we are doing large amounts, we would have to escrow the full amount. 200 BTC is only about $1000 at current rates, not really worth the risk.  I might take the risk for a full rigbox (mini-rig).  Bet big or go home, as it were.

If you're searching these lines for a point, you've probably missed it.  There was never anything there in the first place.

Yeah, I'm sure for a full mini-rig value you would immediately get the BFL guys on board and make sure I get preferred delivery (or switch places in the order line). Too bad that this wouldn't help me, on the contrary I would just make sure to immediately lose my rig-box to you.  Roll Eyes

(and I reserve the right to cancel my rig-box order then).

Unlike the singles, when I ordered my rig box, Sonny said that due to a majority of the funds going into the production, order cancellations are not allowed.

I disagree.  There's enough business risk without them having to worry about getting a half million dollars worth of orders cancelled because the bitcoin market tanks.  Particularly when they probably don't have the funds to cover such a loss.

I must be the only one prayyyyyyyying BFL doesn't delivery mine in 6 weeks or less.

Come on May 25th or later ...

Ok, since people are waiting on my order to get shipped, and see how long it'll take them I have to confess. I've changed my order to 2 mini rigs.  Grin. Right, all single orders after mine are moved up the list and I'm not going to sell my place in line (I could though) Roll Eyes Instead, if yo feel like you could donate here is my address 14gBxD2pAGNTu9stEL7RxVjPD7iSeFp9Kn  Cheesy

I have to ask Smiley

Did BFL somehow convinced you to do so? Some earlier shipping times or something else than a good will?

Just curious, thanks.

After having more concrete information on mini rig boxes, and finding out that in terms of taxes its more convenient and cost effective to have mini rigs instead of so many separate singles. In short - my estimated risk was higher than the actual for the boxes, so I changed my mind. This choice benefits me, BFL, and those who ordered singles....and Inaba of course, since he's probably gonna win that bet  Grin... maybe not, there are so many orders that are not on the list right here. Sonny told me that only orders from Russia are around 30 units, excluding those 50 I had on order.

Anyone from the EU (preferrably Germany) received their BFL single? I am concerned about customs here and the "CE" sign. Does BFL put a CE stikcer on their Single? That would help getting it thorugh customs, afaiH.

Thanks again for your honest answer, can I have one more question, please?

Are you going to wait more 12-15 weeks from now on, or the wait time for the singles will be transferred to the Mini Rigs? I am curious, whether they are going to use chips they have prepared for your singles in building Mini Rigs for you, or not.

I received mine this week and had to pick it up at customs. After a longer discussion about the product itself, what it is supposed to do and especially how they could declare it, I only had to pay the VAT. There wasn't a check for the CE sign. Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.

Those chips in minirig are different from the singles' chips, so they can't be used in both systems.

It would be interesting to know what HS code they used for the Singles. Could you elaborate a bit more on the discussion you had at customs?

At the beginning they had some general questions about the product. What is it's purpose, how does it work and so on. Well, after a few minutes of explaining (unit to calculate hashes, bitcoin,...) they started to do their own research. Finally, after another 20 minutes they came back and started asking me again. They did not find any useful information  Wink After a proposal of one of the employees they agreed to declare it as additional computer parts. After nearly an hour of waiting they used the TARIC Code: '8473 3020 00 0'

So, you told them you going to 'mine' bitcoins, which is commercial use, and they still passed it as a non commercial item? I.e. for personal use?

yes, the item was imported for personal use. I'm no expert in this area, but there should be not much of a difference whether importing them for personal or commercial usage? As they did not understand the mining discussion I started to talk about the calculation of hashes. This way they got a better idea of what the board does.

Yes, it uses a standard 120-240v AC/DC converter, so anything should work.
