I'm gonna simplify the instructions until the blockchain is big enough to generate a blk002.dat and so on and so on... do this to resync real fast since your blockchain is corrupted. SYNC Blockchain Bootstrap (Block 8527) - http://d-h.st/YHc1. Download ^ 2. Delete everything except your wallet.dat (and config if you have one) in users/appdata/roaming/sync 3. Extract blk001.dat from the zip file to users/appdata/roaming/sync 4. Start client 5. Tada!

Can someone please give me the short and real story of what is going on with this coin? I do not have the time to read thru 250 pages here. All I know is I mined and bought this coin last week for like .9 btc, and now it is at .1 btc. What is going on? Is it dead and we should sell/leave, or is it a great buying opportunity?
DEVS PLEASE SPEAK UP!
If you bought in at .9 btc you should probably hold on to that. I have been mining other coins and flipping them for sync. If that is incentive for you to buy, I don't know. Most people have had a fairly easy time with their wallets and a few have had much trouble. Some people have had luck staking, some have not. Some people are patient enough to let the staking play out and others are not. My experience with sync has been great. Mined it hard durning POW phase. There were some issues when it switched to POS but after the hard fork I have had minimal problems with the wallet. My coins have staked 3 times in the last 2 days.

I guess SYNC is almost dead ....or dying now...
Nah, it's just a newborn. Gotta smack it on the ass a few times to get it breathing properly... Things should get going after the wallet/stake is resolved. Agreed. Always with the hiccups While you're watching, can you clarify how many blocks, or if not a block count, what basis for stake maturity? (not the time to confirm, the time to be eligible to stake). thanks. Gracias! I'll let everybody know what the results are. I'm gonna try it first without deletion, and if that fails, reload the blockchain. Finally someone noticed that I'm here reading the comments. Sent via PM I always try to remember that I have two eyes and one mouth, and respond at least at that ratio I've always noticed, just not always commented. Keep up the good work!

Not a dev, so I can't speak for them. But I would (and am) holding for now. The bumps are pretty normal for a new coin, the devs are working on it, and the sheep are panicking.

Hopefully this week. Thanks for the reply! Will watch this thread. So what was today's announcement then? I am keeping it to myself until the wallet issues is resolved. Are you from Quebec? Understandable. Yes I am, Montreal, Quebec, why? Just asking, greetings from Alberta Hello from Alberta as well

I am getting an error when trying to open the new flavored wallet. Worked fine this morning, but now it's giving me an error. Here is a screenshot: Anyone know how to fix that? Anyone have any idea how to fix this? Usually, and this is not the first coin I've run into this with, you can fix it by completely exiting the program and restarting. After you exit, hit ctrl-alt-del and open the task manager. Make sure ALL instances of the client are not running, force any that are to stop using the "end task" button. Then restart the wallet and see if it solves it. If it don't, delete everything in the appdata\roaming\sync folder EXCEPT wallet.dat. (best practice is to copy it somewhere safe, and somewhere else safe, too. ) Then let it sync again. Should cure it. That worked perfectly! Thanks

If this makes anyone feel better about it...if you've paid attention to the block chain...you would have noticed that it has definitely increased in block generation speed over the last 3 days.
The only reason the block chain is moving now is because of staking coins...go to the debug window and type in getstakinginfo and hit enter, and it will show you the net staking weight of the network.
...so coins are staking and apparently at a slow but steadily increasing rate...so keep your wallets unlocked and on...it will happen. =)

Yes. Thursday, when I get paid. Okk lol ill wait for it, hope you made lot of money At least you have a sense of humour To be more serious, I think that the value will return. The basics of the coin are decent, and it's rare, which should drive the value up. The known issues are being worked on, and the dev seems to give a damn. Right now, the value is low for a couple of major reasons, which cause panic amongst the impatient and an opportunity for the patient or stubborn. The first is the multipools. Not ours, it's probably doing quite well because of the price drop, but the ones that sell for bitcoin or other cryptos. They operate on a "right now" basis, and the blockchain froze, then went forward at a wounded snail's pace. So they were probably offering any deal at all to get a return. But Proof of Work is over, so that's mostly over with as well. The second was the issues with the wallet and the blockchain. They're being resolved. The fundamentals of the coin remain the same, but the weak hands and get rich quick people are panicking. This was always a longer term deal. My main coins are TEK cuz I love it and Earthcoin cuz I like the ideas behind it and am part of the team. But this one has a great deal of merit. We'll see how it's handled in the coming days. It has the potential to be quite valuable.

...And also if you type getinfo into the debug window / console you can see...
"moneysupply" : 1002.63158845
Which means coins are being generated from staking...apparently only a bit over 2 and a half SYNC, but I know PoS coin generation is suppose to be what 9000 coins over 3 years? (I could be completely wrong lol)...so that seems like a reasonable number in terms of what it should be...but I haven't actually done the math, but just at a quick glance.
So like I said before keep your wallets unlocked and HODL... =)

It will more then likely take more the 3 years to reach the 10,000 coin limit because not all coins will stake. Mintpal has already stated they do not stake coins so any coins there will not be staked. Plus a lot of people will not stake them all the time.
