can someone explain why BTC is dropping everyday?

Merchant adoption (dell etc) actually creates downward pressure if the number of Bitcoin owners do not increase. Demand for Bitcoin ownership needs to increase. So just an increase in merchants isn't enough. Bitcoin is still not very accessible to the central public IMO. Definitely not to my friends at work, parents etc yet anyways unfortunately.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Sorry for the relative absence. I haven't been well for the past few days; only had energy to get on with writing PR.

can someone explain why BTC is dropping everyday?

Short answer is no-one knows and everyone has their own theories.

Me, I think it's because the price was unusually stable around $600 for so long a LOT of people were waiting on the sidelines. If it went up people would pile in thinking it's surely the start of another bubble. And if it fell after trying to break the resistance for so long people would panic and doubt the next bubble is happening for a long time.

There's definitely been a large volume of sells the last few days, a bunch of which are just whales panicking. The good news is everytime this happens, it further distributes the coins into stronger hands.

My prediction is the price will hover near where it is for a while as the panic sellers dry up and the price will recover to something like $540, where it will be stable for a while until the next big movement.

ATCSecure,

We should make a decision right now that if an exchange gets hacked and XC is stolen there will be no rollback or blacklist.  It is what it is.
Anyone who has there XC sitting on an exchange and is that stupid deserves anything that may happen..yes i agree.

Right now, around 13.43% of XC is sitting in Mintpal.

http://chainz.cryptoid.info/xc/#!wallets

If you have a lot of coins sitting at Mintpal, what are you thinking?   They got hacked recently.   Bter's NXT hack might be some new unknown attack vector that could be affecting Mintpal or other exchange too.

What are you waiting for?   Withdraw those XC away from the exchange!

12.24% of XC now sitting on MintPal. Seems like we'll be running out of supply to meet the demand very soon. Wink

Plan ended and payments sent. Thanks for sending me messages on XChat. Enjoy the small XC, keep 1 year and see the value.  Grin

I have a plan this weekend, I would like to provide a small amount of XC faucet to the top 10 messages sent to me on XChat. 0.1 XC per person for the top 10 senders, I am not rich, so if you do not mind the small amount.

Let me know your bitcointalk name in the XChat message, and publish your address by quoting this text. Then I can verify that if I received your message on XChat.

This ^ + whitepaper + Rev 3 release soon + unclaimable bounty will = XC eruption, guys. Don't fret over the small stuff with the competition. Cream rises to the top. Low volume on exchanges? Pfft. Have faith in the team and exercise patience.

Guys I just lost 1.5mil nxt from bter incident and I want to say why isn't the xc releases signed with pgp and why download files don't have any checksums.
We need to be 100% careful, hackers are targeting all crypto.

And I cant even find a download link from the forum, it should be right at the very first page on top of the forum.

Also xc official homepage isn't very friendly, the slide down buttons may be gimmicky but it is covering the other links and we have to hover the mouse out to look into the content of the link underneath it. Make it slide to the right side maybe?

let me know if
