I've updated my wallet on Windows some minutes ago. Would you think about making the blockchain download optional during the setup? I already had the up to date blockchain, but during setup it's downloaded again and overwritten. After that I've to download the latest blocks again. Maybe you can provide a download link to a zip file and not a new setup again?
+1 Non optional blockchain download is annoying. You can become a delegate, if you have enough votes.
How to apply for voting?

I will talk with SyRenity about windows builds to solve this issue.

How to apply for voting? To get votes need to make reputation in community. Make something for Crypti community and ask peoples to vote for you. And Max said wrong, you can register delegate. But you need votes to be as active delegates (who forge blocks).

I will talk with SyRenity about windows builds to solve this issue. The downloaded new bug fixes have a blockchain.db file that is dated to the time of the zip creation....... not the most current to the minute blockchain.db file..... so.... Before upgrading to the latest bug fix, save your Blockchain.db file to another directory. Then install the latest version of the node. Do not click on "launch Crypti node now" when complete. Next, replace the blockchain.db file int the Crypti Wallet Directory with the saved .db file from before you upgraded. This is not a much different operation than saving the wallet.dat files when upgrading QT wallets.

It wasn't "how to gain people's trust", it was "how to apply" There will be a fee to register a delegate. The exact specifics are still in the testing and debugging phase. The devs are quite busy with many different configurations, voting methods, double voting, coin transfer testing, double paying, and duplicate delegates. The failure testing has been grueling. We want this to be as bug free and idiot proof as possible. Once the system is complete, there will be a guide published. DPOS will not be released until Bter allows withdrawals. Mainly because there is only about 12-15 million XCR that are either not locked up in Bter, Cryptsy or the Crypti Foundation wallet. That is too few XCR to run the DPOS.

It wasn't "how to gain people's trust", it was "how to apply" If you look back a couple of pages you can see some screenshots of the current testing interface for the wallet. It shows how delegates show up and kind of what the system will look like. You will register as a candidate delegate in the wallet for a fee (final number still being discussed). Once you are a candidate, users can vote for you through the delegate interface, all built into the wallet.

Thanks for detalied answers. I also searched "delegate" and read everything about it. Btw, it's been almost a year since the thread started but you still handle all our noob questions (the same on every other page) in such a calm manner

All the potential Crypti has and we hope for will never happen until Bter allows withdrawals. Its bad enough when one entity owns 65%
of your coin but when that same entity is a shady as heck exchange, it threatens Crypti's success. Its inexplicable why Bter for
so many months disallowed withdrawals. I hope its not for the reasons my paranoia thinks it is. So if Bter does allow withdrawals
it is up to us to withdraw most if not all. You don't have to put them in your wallet. Withdraw them to poloniex or Craptsy. Just make sure Bter
no longer has control over Crypti if you hope to be a top 5 coin.
Withdraw your XCR from Bter when enabled.

Every user can vote with his entire XCR balance. The 101 top accounts with the most votes, will become a delegate. You can vote for several accounts with your XCR balance. Do you actually send XCR when voting? And if so, who gets the XCR used for voting?

Do you actually send XCR when voting? And if so, who gets the XCR used for voting? No. It just takes the number of your XCR balance as a voting weight. It will cost a minimal amount of XCR as a fee through (like 1XCR).

And... ... we are waiting ...
If you want to speed things up, contact Bter and TELL them to release XCR for withdrawal. There will not be DPOS until we can withdraw XCR from Bter. There is just too little XCR in private hands for a stable system. The team is really busy with the testing. You would not believe how many different versions have been tested for bugs and functionality. Ethereum is developing a similar system, with $18 million dollars of IPO money, and they are still vaporware after 9 months. We have only a handful of devs, but have made great progress. Go bug Lin at Bter..... not us.

Is this DPOS same as Bitshares' one, but written in a different programming language? Will there be other Poofs in the system or just DPOS?
