You don't need 5 million, that is just the number that would be optimal.

It's not like it's going to be a situation where 4.5 million won't be enough. It's just what Makoto said he would have, knowing what he knows.

They are not about to say, "surprise, you only have 3 million so your out!"

Hope so. Otherwise i would be a little disappointed.

ps: NEM is almost my last hope in crypto....

For me too Grin If NEM will fail,I will get are of cryptos Smiley

I am late BTT stake holder. Several days ago I registered Nem token as instructed in priv msg I have got and I see my correct NEM address here: https://chain.nem.ninja/stakes/registered/

When stake will be delivered?

Thanks in advance.

makoto wanted to deliver them around 20th of April. Then he delayed it for one week, so the stakes should be delivered today or tomorrow.

Thank you a lot for this information. So I'm actively waiting Smiley

They are not about to say, "surprise, you only have 3 million so your out!"

I agree.
no way that would be consistent with what NEM is and want to present to the world.
All the decisions so far were spot on and there is no doubt that this "5 million XEM" thing will benefit NEM and not harm it.

Also, based on experience so far, NEM is a long term thing and there is no rush with anything and I like that approach a lot so I don't think there is going to be - ups, you didn't buy/have 5 mil on time so you are missing out on anything and will never be able to have some X feature/benefit whatever.
The only thing people may (and probably will) miss out is a low price to buy XEM.

I'm slowly converting all my NXT to NEM. I have my orders on Polo that are slowly being filled day by day for a price I'm comfortable with...
The highest price I was buying for was 113 sat/xem and right now I'm hoping to get as much as I can before some new ninja announcement comes out.

I don't know if price is going to be even lower but once the mobile app appears and devs finish the whitepaper and turn to really build on top of this most advance "base" in crypto, we all will be sad we haven't invested more.

Let's not forget that this "base" which already works just fine with one of the smoothest launches I've encountered. This "base" already offers some never before seen things like multisig, PoI, very neat Harvesting options, remote nodes, encrypted messaging etc.

I'm saying "base" because that it is - it is only beginning of the platform that will come in the future and I thing it will be HUGE.

I like this NIS/NCC thing because this modular approach gives so much opportunity for various things to be built on top and around NEM.

I already have a choice of having a full node on my computer or using NCC wallet more like electrum wallet.
When I fire up NXT wallet I have to wait for hours to update. I'll never have to wait that with NEM... BTC - I'm even scared to run the Armory on my desktop pc because I don't have SSD yet on it and waiting for a two day torment of my HDD is not an option...

What can go wrong with NEM?
A lot of things - fate of all cryptos is unclear but they are the future no doubt there...
Some big flaw in NEM? - maybe but seen how fast the reaction our devs already presented I'm at ease...
What if something better comes along? - always a possibility but don't forget that adaptability is the key to success in nature and NEM is built with that adaptability in mind. We have great devs, a great number of supporting teams of different specialization, best distribution so far, lots of people supporting and adding to the project already, big stash of XEM in different funds to grow further than we can now imagine. Also we are now beginning to build up a momentum, infrastructure etc. and that is the "only" adventage Bitcoin has and it is what makes its value now.

At this point everything rises and falls with Bitcoin. Every crypto is linked to Bitcoin and that's bad for NEM, too. NEM has to shake Bitcoin off and be a standalone-thing.

That would be a success definitely never before seen in crypto world...
That is also something I believe NEM has good foundations for... So many REAL stakeholders presents a good staring point to building that.

The only way to standalone is to have multiple USD <-> XEM exchange options/websites.

Not directly yet AFAIK, but there is https://coingateway.net/ through which one can pay with XEM wherever BTC is accepted.

Yep but this is far away from wide adoption plan Wink Just a small start.

No where, at this point NEM is an under-marketed code that NEMsters circle jerk. It is as of today pointless. Hopefully this changes soon.

Your signature is silly.

It's not like you. I went way back reading your posts. It took awhile. You weren't always like this.

Look at things this way.

Most coins are like fighter jets. They swoop in, and poof they are gone. They are exciting. They move real fast and can turn on a dime. Everything is very quick. They flash high up into the sky, or crash into the ground. A lot of times both.

This is what we are used to.

NEM is like an aircraft carrier. It takes awhile to chart it's path. Its turns are slow and deliberate.

It is very boring to watch at times. But remember, it is built to carry the planes we all like. It is very powerful. And although it may take a long time to get there, when it finally does, everyone will know it.

Come back and help us. It may take some time, but it will be very rewarding. We could use your help

I believe you care.

I've done this step by step. I'm at the very end, when I try to load nis by clicking on the desktop icon it doesn't work. Tray icon shows "NIS is starting, NCC is stopped" then after a few seconds it switches to "NIS is stopped, NCC is stopped." I've tried right clicking on the Nem logo to boot nis by itself and it pops up "NIS is running (booted)" for a split second then back to NIS is stopped. I double checked the 2 config files that were edited, everything looked fine. I rebooted the server, still nothing. Got any ideas?

If you buy 5 millions you get another 5 millions for free i heard !

Where? Is this FUD? Please more infos about this!
I understood Makoto's hint as "If NEM dev team announce one great thing in a few days, the price will spring up.
So, before that day, you had better buy more xem at this bottom low price."

Hi

If you take a look in
Code:
C:\Users\Administrator\nem\nis\nis-0.log
you may find a clue to what is happening.

I would bet that it is your boot key. Sometimes a whitespace gets added to the end and it causes nis to crash.
Or maybe it does not recognize that key as an active account.
Try setting your nis\config-user.properties file to
Code:
nis.shouldAutoHarvestOnBoot = false

If that doesn't work try uninstalling "C:\Program Files\nemwallet\uninstall.exe" and reinstalling. then try running it without modifying the config files.

If you continue to have trouble reply to the post in the other forum. I don't monitor this all the time.

The boot key was causing the problem, its must be because I just activated delegated harvesting and I still have a 6 hour wait time. I disabled auto harvest on boot and NIS booted fine.

Thanks Smiley

1 other question, if I want this to be a public node how high of a number should I put for nis.unlockedLimit?
