The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the
first distributed timestamping system.

LIKE LIKE LIKE I don't really like. Would there be any reason for them to discredit NEM or do they simply not know any better ? No research being done ? Like at all ? (Other than the 2 questions they seem to have asked makoto). I mean I really appreciate that they write about all projects and arent just bitcoiners with a media outlet like coindesk and cryptocurrencynews but somehow I feel like it causes them to not digg deep into those projects. Any type of media coverage is good and I don't think they really discredit Nem.

Any type of media coverage is good and I don't think they really discredit Nem. People say this often and I think it's completely wrong. Frankly it baffles me why anyone would think that. If the media states "NEM is way more centralized than other cryptos" - You think that's good publicity ? When people hear about new projects they will only look at it more closely if they like something about it. If the first thing they here is negative then they won't bother. This is especially true in crypto land since there are way more projects happening than anyone could keep up with closely.

On the one hand, I can understand this step. There is so much scamming going on on exchanges. On the other hand, a centralized service gets more information about you It's actually all what crypto currencies stand against for. We should drive the development for decentralized exchanges forward in my option. Couldn't NEM be a forerunner? NOTE: Poloniex will require Name/country after May 20th to withdraw coins

NOTE: Poloniex will require Name/country after May 20th to withdraw coins
it's only basic and you can even fake. no need to panic for now from polo's terms: 10. BSA / FinCEN Poloniex is registered with FinCEN as an MSB (Money Services Business), registration number 31000055869515. Poloniex may be required to file details of account activity to this organization from time to time. 11. (AML) Anti-Money Laundering & (KYC) Know Your Customer Policy Poloniex aims to reasonably identify each user by cross-checking user data against governmental watch lists such as OFAC, as well as 3rd party identity verification and authentication services. If a user or a user’s transaction is flagged as suspicious through our internal controls, Poloniex will require additional proof of identification from the user and has the right to not permit any trades, deposits, and/or withdrawals until additional and verifiable proof of identity is received and the Compliance Officer has approved the user for use of the Platform. By agreeing to our Terms, you acknowledge and understand that Poloniex maintains verification levels which require user participation and verification in order to obtain, with leveled permissions based on user-supplied information, our ability to verify it, and our internal policies. You accept that you may not be able to achieve a desired level of verification, and Poloniex reserves the right to determine, at its sole discretion, the appropriate Verification Level for any user, as well as the right to downgrade users without prior notice. Poloniex may, from time to time, implement policies restricting Verification Levels by nationality, country of residence, or any other factor. This may affect your ability to withdraw funds in your account and you indemnify Poloniex against any losses associated with an inability to deposit and/or withdraw funds based on your verification level. So go ahead and lie and see what happens when you try to withdraw.

What's the yearly inflation rate? Also, how much money would I make in a month if I kept about $45 worth of coins in my wallet and left it run 24/7?

There's no inflation. All XEM that will ever exist is here right now.

There's no inflation. All XEM that will ever exist is here right now. So there is no way to earn more coins like PoS coins? And what would $45 worth of XEM benefit me for keeping in my wallet 24/7?

You can earn coins, but not from inflation but from transaction fees from other users transactions! Anyway, with $45 you not would earn benefits neither with NEM nor with other POS or POI coins.... Since NEM is still very undervalued, the possibility is great that NEMs value rises, and you make profit in this way! Good luck

@devsConsidering the upcoming plans for a Block Rewards Program... I strongly urge you to take a look at this. What you see there is an Infinite Loop AT running on the Qora blockchain (like a BEAST) that is increasing the txs' fees of generated blocks by 50 QORA. Others can actually donate to the address which created the AT and extend the loop! So this is kind of donating coins to the harvesters? I have got a script running doing the same

If (by any chance) you deem this approach superior to your current plans... please consider implementing Automated Transactions (AT).Aside from being an efficient way to run the Block Rewards Program... NEM will benefit from all other AT use cases through the same changes to the code. It doesn't take long to see the power behind the use cases presented thus far (ACCT, Auction, Crowdfunding, Dormant Funds, Lottery). Although it won't be true (since I'm not part of the CIYAM Team)... take it as a plug if you have to... lol Block reward are not a good idea. Look at FIMK. They had block rewards and are scaling it back because of large accounts getting larger exponentially. Node rewards, separate from block harvesting, is the way to go.

I agree. We talked about node rewards months before lunch but are still not in place.

This. If you have it in development, please focus on that. This would be the requested 'use', everybody wants.
