I started a comparison feature of familiar high-PoS. The goal is not competition (X is better than Y) but cross-fertilisation (X has feature A but not feature B that Y has; let's add it). Inspiration is the improvement in 3D video card after 3D benchmarks arrived in the 90's. I only added feature that are unambiguously beneficial (bold part, the italic part are just information and prone to change).
Proof-of-stake List - Features comparison (it is a multitabbed spreadsheet and this tab is a new one)

Edit: I added a "Optimal block size" column.
Edit2: if people can get a canonical URL for downloading blockchain (and helping newcomers), I'd be happy to mention it on the spreadsheet.

Monero: the first crytocurrency to bring bank secrecy and net neutrality to the blockchain.HyperStake: pushing the limits of staking.

On the home screen of the wallet can you add a Total line?  It's nice to know at a glance how much you will have once the stake is released.  I noticed quite a few other PoS wallets have it (DIG/SHA/SYNC)

Sure I can work on this. Thanks for the suggestion!

Everyone please put wallet requests and bug reports here so that I can keep track: https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/13358-wallet-feature-requests/

Maths in that above mentioned noble coin POS document needs some looking at
is it 175% annual ? ... there is a clue in the word annual .. sorry to be an(u)al Cheesy

On that note anyone care to shout out the 9 day return on HYP  ie is the 750% compounded or not?

Not sure what you are asking here. But no 750% is non-compounded.

K done a very quick scratch out - but I knackered and could have just balled it up.

If the annual target is 750%
Compounded comes to ~5.4% per 9 day period
40 periods a year @ 5% compounded 745% profit

non compounded (spent returns) needs more like 18.5% return in a 9 day period

AANNND I just found an earlier post which seems to confirm the 18.x non compounded rate you just suggested.
plz scuse the head fog ... I'm still trying to get the shear MAGNITUDE of HYPERSTAKE into my head Cheesy

*EDIT
it's a terminology thing, not being an accountant I had to go look it up to remind myself.
If the annual return depends on the frequency of compounding it's called "Effective annual interest rate" or "annual equivalent rate (AER)"
I'm not even going to print that here. It's a pretty big number .....

Yep the formula is: 7.5/365*9=18.49% - but do keep in mind you need smaller blocks on the HYP network because of the max stake reward of 1000 so it does change things a bit.

Should I be staking if I have deposits starting at 14-07-06 13:30? My wallet shows ive been staking from day 1 with expected reward within seconds, but theres been discussion that that is an error that will be resolved in the next wallet update, so im not sure if I actually am staking or not. Im on block 34293.

The most recent release of the wallet on the OP has the bug fix for this minting icon and stats. And no the coins take about 8.8 days before becoming mature so you are almost there but not quite!
