.048 kw/h, 20,000 Watts

total Rigs plus all cooler fans (not visible on the photos) for ventilation, it's consume around 110 Amp.
sorry planet, take one for the team.

You do realize that 20,000W > 110A on a standard 120V line?

Do the sockets in that picture look like standard 120v plugs?

They look like 230/240v UK plugs to me Wink

it is 220v  Smiley

Nothing new by any means, but this is 1 of my 3 Litecoin rigs that all share the same format. Other 2 live in the roof, this one in the dining room as (IMO) its quite nicely presented, (relatively) quiet and is cable-less aside from the power cable thanks to a £10 Wireless-N USB adapter, so nobody in the house minds having it around.

http://i40.tinypic.com/1914bk.jpg

It does a good job of holding the downstairs of the house at a pretty consistent temperature and is currently being put to good use help dry my laundry a bit faster than normal  Grin

This one cools fine with 3 fans (mostly down to the undervolting and larger air space), the other two rigs have between 4 - 6 extra 120mm fans sitting on top of the cards to stop them from overheating as the insulation in the roof is a bit too efficient to let enough heat out... They have a mix of Gigabyte WF3's with undervolted BIOS and standard MSI cards.

Was going through some boxes earlier and found a Freezer 64 that used to be on at Athlon 3700+ years ago, thought 'it's a shame that'll never be used again'. I had been thinking recently of replacing the ramsinks that I'd had on the back of my BE...

What did the guys at the Zoll say about that BFL? Smiley

roughly this:

customs girl: "What is in this package? What's so special about it?"
me (surprised): "It's a Bitcoin Miner, basically a computer"
customs girl: "Excuse my ignorance, but can you explain what it does"
me: "Uuurm. It makes calculations, mining Bitcoins"
customs girl: "So it's a computer?"
me: "Yes, has chips in it and a power supply and stuff"
customs girl: "You'll have to open the package and show me"
me (opens package): "See, a power supply, and this black box is the computer with chips in it"
customs girl: "I see, yes, ok. One computer. You'll have to pay 19% import VAT tax and probably customs duty".

customs duty turned out to be 0%, 19% VAT I had to pay as expected.

lol. Bike already has dynamo. I could just use android mining app from bfl with mobile connection. 70W will be hard to manage for my legs, though.

Bitcoins are easy to spend and "rich" is quite a relative term.

Good to hear I helped getting you into mining Wink

From touching the heatsink the one directly on top of the ASIC is completely cool, so is the end of the heatspreader.

Would anyone be interested in a set of the ASIC sink, a little VRM sink with thermal tape applied and a pre cut piece of 3M thermal tape to attach the other side of the stick to any heatsink.

I admit the fan really is overkill but Arctic F8's are silent at 5v, also an insulated bolt on one corner plugs perfectly into the pi headphone socket and a cushion on the opposite corner resting on the heatsink works well. I had already made the GPIO fan breakout for when the back was just covered in little ramsinks, they are now on the flat face of the mains adapter which was getting very warm. Found a piece of aluminium stock I've had for years and hot glue gunned the heatsink to it so it wouldn't wobble and to correct the height difference.

@Trillium
You are absolutely right too, TeamViewer to check, Moblie Phones to restart (actually I am starting to use a new device that restarts thru LAN), Web cameras to monitor, Fiber optic internet + 3G for safety, and a few temperature sensors around the room which have cool graphics and send me SMS-messages if they reach a warning temperature.

Sounds like you are well set up. Can you elaborate on the temperature monitoring systems you've set up, they sound relevant to my interests. Perhaps RPi based?

I use some USB temperature sensors from ebay, similar to this:
EBAY

What do you use to restart your rig from your cell phone?

This 5v relay, remove the vibrator motor, and connect it instead now when it vibrates it activates the relay.
It important that the relay is "+" activated not "-" like most of the 5v relays for Ardunos and shit.
btw the Arduno is perfect and for temperature measuring too.

My mining rig is a cardboard box (but it's that GOOD quality cardboard).

I cut vents in the sides, and sliced out a viewing window on top with a piece of plexi-glass taped over it (to avoid an Schrodinger's cat mysteries with the stuff inside).  Then I cut a crude hole on top and I have an "O2Cool" fan sitting on top of that.  You can buy these fans at Wal-Mart in the States for about $6.00.  They are USB powered, but come with a USB power adapter (only 500ma, so not good for much else).  It moves a decent amount of air for what I paid for it.  Keeps things pretty cool in there.

And inside of the box?  Just a said little $15 USB hub, that will be maxed out on power if I ever add a fourth block erupter.

It's a power house I tell you.
