I've posted the setup before, but have updated some things, and currently getting ready for doubling capacity with power and cooling upgrades, so there will be even more racks soon. Also moving all the rigs out of my house and back into the space now that winter is winding down slightly.

.05 kw/h including delivery charge? might i ask where is it? delivery and fees is the biggest PITA. I personally pay between 0.07-0.10/kwh but with fees included its about an average $0.145/kwh CAD |

.05 kw/h including delivery charge? might i ask where is it? No delivery charge, but a handful of taxes on the bill that brings it between .05 and .06, as the tax type is variable, oddly enough. And yes, you may ask.  |

And yes, you may ask. Can you tell me the state? whats up with the secrecy? I'm just curious about how energy price around the globe... not the specific location of the farm. |

No need to take offense, but you'll understand that location and advantage is a big deal, so while it's not a secret at all, I don't post city/state typically. For reference it's in the Northeast US. |

Love the modified server PSU, I've considered using them, but concerned over a potential increase in fire hazard. I know those dells have pre-configured kits, but didn't know if it can cause potential issues as I read a couple people saying they had hot wires to the touch. |

Just went to feel the wires and they are all (normal) not hot not cold. I like the Server PSU because its cheap and its does a nice 62.4Amps 12v+. |

You can see in the pics crazyates posted that we're using an IBM 2000w PSU. Three delta fans on the side keep it nice and cold without having to open the case. 1 PSU feeds 4 AntMiners nicely.
As far as hot wires, we had an AntMiner on the test bench running on a 750w ATX PSU but had a cheesy molex to PCIe adapter that ended up putting all the load onto just 1 pair of about 18awg wire. When we noticed hot cables and the yellow turning brown, we moved to the correct set of cables (PSU is modular). Not only are the cables now running nice and cool, but it's also pulling 30watts less from the wall!!!

if you gave it another minute you wouldve seen a nice little blaze  I used one of those before that was a 8pin ATX -> 6 pin PCI that was rated 18AWG (4 wires for each polarity, or <50W each shouldnt be a problem at all) which burtst into a small fireball within 3 minutes of being installed and switching on the PSU. don't rely on ebay cables for mining rigs - they are not designed for large loads |

Those things are a trap. IMHO they shouldn't be included with mid or high end GPU. |

I believe everyone has once again reinforced why I don't use the server PSUs, although they are really the best bang for the buck. Not worth the worry in my unmanned site.

I believe everyone has once again reinforced why I don't use the server PSUs, although they are really the best bang for the buck. Not worth the worry in my unmanned site.
Huh? The wire/heat/potential fire issues we were having were with an ATX PSU. Our modified server PSUs have never given us any issues. They're rock solid! |
