Amazing dev team thanks for all the hard work and update!

I read that BitBay, Blackcoin, Sys, Sling, and NXT Free Market all have currently working decentralized marketplaces.  I stumbled onto the post after discovering the Sling thread.  Does anyone know if this is even true or these are just scam coins/vaporware?  I don't see how I didn't know decentralized markets were already working, or why investors wouldn't have moved to those coins and increased the market caps once a decentralized market was released.

Obviously shadow has multiple advantages over these coins, the biggest being true anonymity, but it's worrying to read that other coins have released working decentralized marketplaces and nothing has resulted from it.  Hopefully it's because they aren't truly decentralized markets or don't function well like shadow's will.  If anyone has any info on those coins/markets that would be great!

I just don't get how shadow has made so much progress and the price has only gone down recently.  Please don't be discouraged though devs because I haven't sold one coin and don't plan to! It's just strange that even with the first ever HD wallet we didn't gain more traction.  I'm hoping the same doesn't happen after the market release especially if those coins also had market releases and nothing happened to them.  Because I didn't know about most of them.

Shadow hopefully will get a lot more traction it already deserves a ton more now with true anonymity and first ever HD wallet!

I think everybody's sigs should be original for each person but I suppose that doesn't help with the branding and all that, so carry on.

I want to create a paper wallet for transfering my first SDCs to this address.
I am wondering if this paper wallet here is honest? http://shadow.blockexplorer.cc/paperwallet/

Thanks!

Yes it is legit Smiley
However you can never be safe enough so save the file (http://shadowchain.info/paperwallet/index.html) and then use a computer not connected to the internet to generate it (everything is contained within the file). All client-side generation.
I will make it available for download, for offline generation.

Been away for a while.  Seen a new HD wallet is out.  Are there any special requirements for upgrading from an old wallet into the new wallet?  Does this new "HD" wallet support 4k UHD?   Grin

Review user dasource's quickstart to HD in the comment section here: http://blog.shadowproject.io/2015/10/01/shadow-v1-3-3-3-release/

I had got busy and never got around to upgrading.  I wanted to get it done today but the comments are no longer displayed on this link.  Can someone post the instructions for upgrading from the old wallet to the new HD wallet.

Thank you!!

@Kuriso

Quote from: dasource
When you first load the new HD wallet it will create a new HD account for you and set it as default ... I.e. any new addresses generated will be from the default HD account (unique to you). However as this is pre-generated and not user friendly to remember I suggest you proceed to create a new account using a mnemonic sentence.

My suggestion for existing users is ...

** ALWAYS BACKUP WALLET.DAT FIRST **

STEP1

1. Save your wallet.dat and rename it.
2. Load the latest Shadow client
3. Create a new HD Wallet (Settings --> Key Management --> New Key) - give it a "Label".
4. Goto (Key Management --> Advanced Management) and make sure that your new account "Label" has a tick next to the default field.
5. The wallet will have generated two new addresses in your "Receive Tab" -  "Label" Address and "Label" Stealth Address
6. Send some funds to one of these new addresses (from your old wallet)

.. now I would suggest you try a restore of this account to test it!

STEP2
1. Save your wallet.dat and rename it.
2. Load the Shadow client
3. Goto (Settings --> Key Management --> Restore) - complete steps
4. Goto Help --> Debug --> Console and type "scanforalltxns 600000"
5. You should see your transaction show up.

If all goes well, you have the correct mnemonic and can then go back to your old wallet and send all your funds to the new wallet.
Your new HD wallet is setup and the mnemonic sentence + optional pass-code is all you need to access all new addresses.

Any news about the alfa testing?
By the way, since governments are trying to get rid of the cash, the first real anon coin will be the new cash. Did the dev team ever think about renaming "shadowcoin" to "cash". I mean, we, the guys who understand what's going on in the world, aren't scared of a name like shadow or dark, but the sheeple ( which is over 95% of the population ) could feel uncomfortable with a name like shadowcoin.
