The only strong selling pressure now is lying on 21500. Let's see if we have a similar rally with ETH. Roll Eyes

We might have overpaid the GUI a bit Roll Eyes.
Still dirt cheap for skilled developers though, not to mention fluffypony's contributions..

Is fluffypony's personal Monero address known? And does he accept direct donations?

The price is getting ever so close to the $1 mark... do you guys think there will be a resistance in USD now that we crossed the resistance point in BTC?

I think there is only a publicly known address for the "Core development team" to send direct contributions.  Could be wrong though..

looks like a good call to me @koryu.
market seems to agree for now.  to go all the way up again would be crazy  Grin

at least there wont be a fight for 145k this time..this war is over it seems

the war? I think pump finished from last week or so. So xmr, is back to regular trading volumes.

I expect there will be more pumps coming soon for the previously #1 digital currency on Poloniex in terms of volume.

Possibile. But I dont see how xmr could reach volumes of eth. Even dash has been continuously traded with higher volume than xmr. I think spot #1 of xmr on Polo is lost, and cant see how it could go back to even being in first 3 spots anytime soon.

Haha. I think I was wrong few days ago :-)

I WASN'T!
Cheesy

ATH daily volume.

Lots of BTC sloshing around on Polo now. Thank you ETH.

The current ETH market cap is 1,166,150 BTC. Has the world gone full retard?  Huh

I think so, and there are gonna be a ton of Butthurt fools when that foolsgold crashes!

nice!

traget 180k?
took some time, but finally here is the rebounce.

today was the day i planed to dump it down to 0.0005 like primer recommended...i changed my mind now

Let me know when I can get it that cheap!

@Heuristic

re ETH - Do you trade? Do you use Fib retracements? What do you think a likely retracement from a 150% move would be?

0.0025/$1 seems to be the next target but not really a "resistance". If the buying continues you will likely see those orders pulled. I think there quite a few who are waiting for dips now to get back in.

We're about 5% volume away from a weekly record as well. All volume records are being crushed atm.

there's a lot of dumb money on polo right now.

I believe the "jump" from 25-26 to 35 will be instant. We may witness abnormalities if 3x margin calls get burnt.

This is the wrong thread for this but I know someone here can help me.

I have an old Monero wallet that I haven't touched for 1.5 years. I'm not sure how much I have in it and wanted to check after todays price increase. I downloaded the Monero files and the blockchain. Put the blockchain and my old key file in the same folder as the bitmonero.exe file and simplewallet. When I run them both the wallet won't update because it says the deamon is busy. Has been like this for several hours now. Anyone know how to fix this?

Are you fully synced? Use "diff" in bitmonerod.exe (the daemon) to check your blockheight and compare that to http://moneroblocks.info/.

Try downloading the Monero files and syncing the blockchain from scratch. After that, place your wallet files in the same directory as simplewallet. If you created the wallet on the same OS, it should update itself.

Alternatively, one can import the blockchain using the method described here:

https://github.com/monero-project/bitmonero/releases/tag/v0.9.0

Make sure to grab the binaries of 0.9.1 though:

https://github.com/monero-project/bitmonero/releases/tag/v0.9.1

Syncing from scratch is more convenient in my opinion and probably faster as well.

Thanks dEBRUYNE. Got it all sorted out now. Had about as much as I thought. Transfered it all to a new mymonero address so I don't have to use the command line wallet again.

I know we've technically been at $1 before, but I would consider hitting and holding a dollar now to be the true 'parity party'.

84 cents..... my God.  You know, to do this you have to be a little bit of a sadist.... and you have to not mind being insulted and debased for choosing a superior option that isn't as popular.  But then there's the other side of the equation when others start to recognize that you were right... and it's like  Shocked "are you guys sure???"

Like, you've become so used to your legitimate asset being undervalued and insulted that when it's finally not you wonder if everyone has gone crazy somehow.

Account is back under control of the real AmericanPegasus.

Did the whales who pumped and dumped the Ethereum come to Monero? If so, Monero price can go very high.

To me it looks like so.
The fact is, Monero is probably held mainly outside of the exchange as the whales hold it in their own wallets make the coin pretty scarce in the exchange.
If everything goes well, Monero might indeed go pretty high. Personally I am not so much interested in selling coins that low as I have been a hodler for so long. The price need to be something serious (like hundreds of dollars per coin or so) to make me sell a Monero or two. Still I am planning to hold most of my coins.
In the end, we really do not need 18 000 000 coins floating in the market in order to make a Monero economy. The economy can be made with 100 000 XMR or so, the rest of the coins can be hoarded in long term storage units.

i share this view. there are sure levels where cold storages will be opened, but as you said, most of those people are holding for a long time allready. so my guess would be those levels are still away for some time. emission is down and what was 1 day of mining a year ago is now 2 days worth. its time for a re-adjustment.

anyway, i feel there is the need to cool off a little bit soon, but based on the speed and volume i dont think there will be a chance to do so.
definetely some new big players in the market. if they share same long term perspective as we do or are just after some quick bucks will have to be seen.

More than 1 Million XMR have changed hands on Poloniex today. A lot of coins finding new owners that are entering at a much higher price than we've seen for several months. These new holders aren't going to want to part with their coins until they see much higher prices. The volume is key here imo.
