My view on it is that it does solve a major issue in Bitcoin (as PT agrees) but it doesn't necessarily solve every potential issue with blockchains (as TPTB agrees). However, my view is also that in the real world when you engineer working systems you can rarely if ever reach absolute perfection. You have to reduce major failings to a minimum and hope that the market then finds it a useful solution to some problem. For example, driverless cars will probably be safer than human-driven cars, but people will still be killed in them. Monero's design is evolved from Bitcoin and addresses serious problems with it (this is explicitly stated in the whitepaper), while still sharing similar goals, unlike Ethereum and others. At least with respect to the original Bitcoin goals; transparency may be somewhat more of a goal of Bitcoin now that it has become joined more closely with finance and regulation than end users.

Also, doesn't the mandatory per-kB fee make his point moot? Or did I just missunderstand it?

Update from Shen Noether regarding Ring CT implementation for Monero. I have to admit I spotted this one a bit late: In addition, Shen Noether posted this on reddit:

"We are just fools. We insanely believe that we can replace one politician with another and something will really change. The ONLY possible way to achieve change is to change the very system of how government functions. Until we are prepared to do that, suck it up for your future belongs to the madness and corruption of politicians." Martin Armstrong

Dollars getting cheaper now. The local price of steam remains constant measured in magic beans. Steam in Iceland, however, does not. On my premises the xmr supply factor tracks the mining-weighted cost of steam, while the demand factor presently remains negligible.
Cool New York facts: Every once in a while some steam pipe from the 19th or early 20th century explodes, blasting chunks of tarmac into the air. Either no one has been killed in this way in the 10 years I've been frequenting the city, or it is just not notably reported, as it isn't "news". An example of the latter negative effect: ~20 Manhattanites get killed by stray voltage each year when touching signal poles or street lamps, but this is definitely not news, just a consequence of stratified layers of decaying transmission circuitry dating back to the era of Edison and Tesla. If I ran the place I would put a dome over it. Not sure about doors though.

Could you please explicit the relation between steam price and xmr supply?

In addition, Shen Noether posted this on reddit: Shen seems to be a major crypto scholar and loves Monero. If he is still a student, he might have changed his thesis to Monero !

If we follow the steps of Ethereum, the target will be at least 400% rise, so the target will be 0.006. That is quite reasonable.

Well i am looking for the free mining software from which i can easily mine the Monero with the usage of CPU speed. I cant afford to deposit money on the online mining sites. So if you know any one best for CPU mining then please help me to get the same and start mining easily.

Steam being a proxy for electricity, and electricity being the marginal input factor in XMR production. Saying it in terms of electricity is entirely redundant; but, reinforcing the steam linkage adds brushstrokes to a potential work of art in progress, making the act of utterance worthwhile. Doing what I can to inject a value-accretive steampunk cachet.

If you visit any of the pools (for example those listed in the Monero ANN OP), most of them have a "Getting Started" link at the top of their home page where you can find instructions.
