Quote
2015-03-02 14:57:32 xuaxrw the monero dump today: https://vid.me/ima7 ... more where that's coming from Wink

looks as if this is just a throwaway nick though.

I dont understund why he does that.. nobody with the brains on the head public that before dump everything.... its actualy advertising that the price is low and if he have more to dump he will dump lower, so i dont think he have more to dump.. or if he have its retarded...

Well if that's the case, I was also retarded by announcing first the intention to buy, and then needing to buy 50% higher.

The dump is playing to the accumulating hands, so I am just grateful. Uptrend has peaks and troughs, and 136-138 ksat is a level I would now eye as a possible turnaround point due to tow Fib levels (115->174(II), 98->174(50%)) coinciding there. A lower possibility of 127k is there as well, buyers might be caught off guard if their all bids are higher...

It's currently bottomed at 145k.

It is exactly the 1st Fib (38.2% retracement) from the move from 98k to 175k (double-bottom low to recent high).

Also it's exactly 50% from 115k to 175k (announcement low to recent high).

There is actually a rather good chance that we go higher from here. I would however like to see a further retracement to 136-138k, which marks the 50% from the (double-bottom low to recent high) and 61.2% to (announcement low to recent high), which would mean that more weak hands are shaken off.

Breaking 136k for any longer than a flashcrash would question the uptrend and mean a possible further test of 100k. (Not that it would matter, I have been buying at 100k before and feel good  Grin )

145k has a double-bottom in 24h intervals.

136k seems to be pretty well shielded currently by 45,000 XMR in bids, with 24h-volume at only 59,000 currently.

On the other hand, asks have increased and are standing at a formidable 51,000 XMR until 165k.

Since prediction is fun (this one is IMO the most likely scenario, but the combined probability of every other scenario is much higher, so whatever happens, I both win and profit), my take is that once America wakes up, the formation at 140k will be sold into, but no much further dumping will occur, so the capitulation of the retracement is found at 136-138 area just as predicted yesterday.

The sellers seem to have stuck on the idea that they want 160k and not much less. The volume is waning.

On top of everything else, the coin is oversold.

Open Question: What is the most exciting thing that might realistically happen to Monero this year?

When Bitcoin had the same market cap as Monero has now, it was perceived as a new, interesting technology by some, and the price rose by more than 100x in less than a year.

More is surely possible (see Quark or AUR for examples of dud coins that still managed nice rises).

Crypto Kingdom might go viral. Most interested players have invested $1,000 or more in their first month of play. All the currency is held up in XMR in the game cold accounts, unavailable for the market.

Something unforeseen could happen as well.

First thing one would have to do is find out the characteristics of money:

1.Durability
2 Portability
3 Divisibility
4 Fungibility
5 Scarcity
6 Acceptability

Then we check off all that Monero automatically accomplishes(green) and does not(red):

1.Durability <----Moneroj are secured by it's decentralized network
2 Portability <----Moneroj can be transported anywhere on earth(Both physically through a paper wallet and online/virtually)
3 Divisibility <-----Moneroj is divisible to 8 decimal places
4 Fungibility <-----Monero's anonymity and "private" or obscured blockchain ledger ensures that every coin is as same as the other
5 Scarcity <----- There will be 18million Moneroj in existence
6 Acceptability

Monero already has all 5 out of the 6 characteristics of money. What's remaining is acceptance. Acceptability would be gained through things like; making monero easier to use(GUI for ex), building infrastructure, marketing, and the like.
