Could've also been a trader/investor anticipating a market reaction. Hard to tell.

Yeah, lowest payday for a scammer yet. Good sign I guess...

I think Monero (XMR) is very interesting.

When you are using exchanges you trust their operators. That is a risk you have to take into account. You cant go around it till there is a decentralized exchange.
The only solution is to trade otc. Or at least send the coins to exchange, trade, send the coins back to your wallet. Every time and ASAP.

It has happened before, it is happening now, it will happen in the future. When you trust someone there is always the risk of getting scammed.

Poloniex did get hacked once and they made everybody whole.  They of course have improved security and have proven their integrity.

Obviously there is still a risk but it is a far cry from what has just happened with the dice site.

Most of my XMR is in my wallets but somehow the amount of XMR I have on Poloniex keeps increasing Tongue

Is the consensus really that the selling of the last couple of days was this scammer? We had a 200% increase in 2 weeks, a correction was overdue. I'm not sure if it's reasonable to assume the stolen units are absorbed yet...

For instance, there could be Monero denominated IPO and with that money the created corporation buys different (fiat denominated) assets that are safe and brings cashflow (such as real estates with premium-cashflow) and then pays dividends in Moneros for instance monthly/quarterly.

There are already two:

  • CKG (crypto-kingdom gold) - rpietila explained. And you don't need to play. You can 1) just deposit and wait 2) hire a wealth manager which will (hopefully) optimise your profits for a fee
  • Cryptocoins-dice.com (investing, not gambling). The admin is legit, I have his phone number and I'll get his ID, we talked a lot and will physically meet (as well as a lot of other Bitcoiners to testify) on the 30th of March. Estimated APR (based on statistics for just-dice): 50% Sure, as long as multisig is not implemented in Monero, there are risks. Not that other assets like GAWminers are better.

Might be that some people are interested in his ID/phone number quite soon.. Not sure though.  Roll Eyes
That's the main problem really as there is no regulation. You can just steal the money and vanish.  Embarrassed

When it comes to XMR, someone seems to put on the buying bot.

Short term pennant looks bullish to me.

Not to mention longer term.
Despite the new ATH hasn't been reached, it looks still a little bullish since some previous highs was broken last week.

Thanks, after I disabled Flash it seems to be a LOT smoother!

Nice! My xmr address is in my sig. Smiley

As I posted yesterday I think the profit takers from .001 will be hitting about now. I agree we cannot assume he has even moved them to an exchange. Good luck for him it's untraceable.

or someone won at the cassino Tongue

Unfortunately not I got owned. All in on the nut flush draw. Got called down by lowest under pair (5's)! Guy had just sat down and called every hand till he was broke. He basically funneled most of my chips to the rest of the table. DOH Smiley I called it quits at 6am this morning. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow. Wink

I understand that you did not mean 0.00100 but still... the others should do the numbers and realize that there was no such group who could buy at 0.001 except a lucky XMR. (I also bought below 0.001, perhaps about 0.2% of my stash)

The average for 140 days is 0.00146 which did offer an ample opportunity for accumulation at 150, 140, even 130, but people who actually were on the buy side and consider selling any meaningful amount now, are precious few.

The game is steadfastly between new entrants and miners. Speculation enters when we get nearer to the trading range (300-400, or $2-$3)

I was happy when I got @.0015 even when it still went down. Smiley

strong move, happy sunday Wink
will we take down 300 today? where do you see resistance short to mid term? sells did not recover, preassure just too strong, i nearly forgot i had a small wall at 28 Grin
beautifull wedge pointed out from articmine. sometimes it looks so perfect to me...the double bottom, the hammers, the wedges. am i the only one?
its not predictable i know the market is so small. but people can draw the charts, also as a collective mind. like self fulfilling prophecies.
i do not know if you have experienced it, but it sometimes happens at live sport events(you can not feel it in tv). if all the 30k people inside a stadion can see the goal happen in front of their 3rd eye, chances are high it will happen. like a very strong mass pschology thing.
if everyone imagines it all the time, the universe will respond and adapt Grin

True, but people that are unable to see those things think those that can are nuts. Smiley

There's a strong possibility that in the medium term, XMR will go to .008 to .01, achieve an 18 million dollar market cap or greater, become the center of attention in the cryptoworld, and basically kill DRK.
