One simple accurate comparison is to consider it is a dice with ~40billion sides. You just keep rolling it until you get the golden value of "1" That can occur at any time, but of course the average expected is once every ~40billion rolls. The internal details is that each roll is a work item with an expected 1 diff result, that you send to the miner and on average once every ~40billion 1diff work items sent to your miners, you'll get a 40billion diff result that is a block. (Of course that number ~40billion is the 'current' network difficulty)

Again congrats to 174yX8! Also nice how after both blocks he tips ck 0.5 BTC
Unfortunately that didn't happen on the second block by the way (not that I was expecting it).

@Kano: i imagen a dice with 40 Billion sides, but a good picture that will be. @CK: Yeah, twice the luck is great, makes me think of a flash never hit twice the same position (exept in one movie).... I try it, got nothing to loose then, it was just considering about how to do it. The pool is great! It only take 10-15min. until my poor little Ant reduce diff. is there a adjusting i can do to directly reduce the diff? i.e. --suggest-diff xx, will that help?

Shit a brick so he did! I was looking for it back at the solo generation address for some reason (not all wallets are readily accessible to check).

I was looking for it back at the solo generation address for some reason (not all wallets are readily accessible to check). if I recall rightly (i may be wrong here), that miner had rented some of my hashes (sent me a screenshot - hence i recall the mining address) - it was his birthday and he wanted to find a block mining solo - as he felt lucky. i feel good for him.

Could that #xnsub option be added to ckproxy, or does it have to be supported by every cgminer in every ant?
Doesnt really understand the meaning of that option but it seems to do its work, but when i dont have physical access to every miner it could help if ckproxy could connect with that option enabled to pool.
Anyway thanks for the good proxy!

You've posted on the solo ckpool thread This is the thread for the ckpool/ckproxy code: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=790323.0But to answer your question, I have no interest in adding support for that extension designed to help one rental/coin switching service in either cgminer or ckpool.

Hoping you can help. I have a few workers on your pool. The Antminer s1's are having no issues. However the Antminer C1's do no report "best share"
When I use them on another solo mining pool they report the best share however on your pool they do not.
Personally I would rather use your pool as I like it better, but I would like to be able to see my best shares so I can know how close I come to finding a block. A big fat 0 under best share is kinda disheartening even though as far as I can tell it is reporting shares.

That's just an S1 driver design issue. It happens when the diff is exactly a power of two and is harmless and cosmetic only but of course doesn't fix your issue.

Thank you for answering the question. Just to make sure I understand. Even though it says "best share" =0 My miner is still submitting shares? http://solo.ckpool.org/users/1HUs9na6NgY85DXxi4dXLGQu9ZDBayMde3I should be around 2.4TH so as long as my reported speed by looking at the link above is close, then everything is working correctly other than I have no idea what my best share is?

pointing few miners at your pool, will they work toward finding one exact block, or will they work each for themselves, egoistically, each for it's own block... are they working as a pool('cauze i put my wallet on all of them) or individual miners?

It makes no difference. There is no way of adding work up with mining nor is there any such thing as "progress towards a block". Whether they're all pointed to the same address or different addresses as the same workers or different workers your chance of finding a block is purely proportional to the total hashrate.

Looks like someone found a block! With 250 GH/s. Or at least that what the hash rate was at 4 hours ago.

How can I set difficulty for my antminer C1? It is just really frustrating that the difficulty never changes from 1024 so no best shares are ever shown.
