Well there's some minor confusion in that, that I don't quite follow his wording
So I'll repeat stuff I've said before and explain it in more detail.

I the past, I paid all the transaction fees from my mining.
No one else had to pay for any txn fees.
Firstly, I used to put 0.002 fee on each transaction - about $140 a month - no big deal.
It seems that bitcoin wants about 0.02 fee or there abouts.
That would be about $1400 a month ... so yeah too much in my opinion.
Our job as a pool is to confirm transactions.
Really it's now pointless using a 0.002 fee since it often doesn't get confirmed by any other pools for hours.

Recently I had my miner off by mistake and when I got to doing the payout my miner total was less than 0.002
So I changed the payout processing to allow me to set a zero fee - i.e. don't take anything from my mining.
I also sorted it out to guarantee that I could ensure the zero fee pool payout transaction would be in our block work.

I've now set the payouts to always be zero fee.
Side effect of it all is the payout will (almost always) only be confirmed by the next block we find after I send the payout.
Current hash rate (30PH) expects on average 3.3 blocks a day, so payouts should be rare to take more than a day.

Well for quite a while now I mine 18hrs a day, since in the middle of the day it costs me around 40c/kWhr so that'd never happen
Currently it's only one Avalon6 (I can only really run 2 due to power limitations) so around 3.6THs 3/4 of the day.
It was 2 of them since December but recently I fried half of one due to weird circumstances and it's now upstairs and too loud to run so it's off until I either swap in a quieter fan from something else or just leave it off. It's not very loud, but loud enough to not want it on during the night.
You can of course see my hash rate on the list with everyone else

Currently it's only one Avalon6 (I can only really run 2 due to power limitations) so around 3.6THs 3/4 of the day.
It was 2 of them since December but recently I fried half of one due to weird circumstances and it's now upstairs and too loud to run so it's off until I either swap in a quieter fan from something else or just leave it off. It's not very loud, but loud enough to not want it on during the night.
You can of course see my hash rate on the list with everyone else

...hence my "Here, Ampy Ampy!"...we pay US .45/kwh here...and it's supposed to be a co-op (don't get me started). I only get free power because of my personal status and living in a subsidized complex. I couldn't afford it, either. Folks here w/PV can do it, however, as they're paying an average of .17-.20/kwh instead. I run my household (now) on 30A/120V and it's a challenge. I can run 2 S7s...now I have another S7 for backup, and six S3s I can't use at all now just for no power. I'll hang on to them for now.

Of course...won't do that. My overhead here is zero (other than a bit of noise and keeping the new kitten from climbing the equipment rack). I've the one S7 and six S3s (all with kickasspower psu's) in reserve; I just don't care much about having gear in someone else's keeping, no matter how good their rep. That's my PTSD, partly, and some of it is having spent some years in intl banking law enforcement...I don't trust hardly anyone. 

The partner who helped me get this far is very close to getting into it directly himself ('cuz I'll have him paid back by the halving...and he's been getting his learning curve by watching me). I likely will "pay forward" at least part of this gear to get him up to speed without having to deal with the "where to get it and will it work OK" thing. He's a bright guy, but only got exposed to btc this past Thanksgiving. He doesn't pay for power, either.

Dumb question, perhaps...but curious whether to try to bump the freq on my one Batch 12 S7 to maybe 725. The changes I made to the rack have both the units down by 10+C...and this one's running a consistent <=60C on all three boards. PSUs are 2KW split boxes (1KW ea) and up to it, I think.

Any educated guesses on what would happen? Worth the effort/risk? This box is off warranty.

EDIT: ...good point on Merkle. Haven't heard the term used in a while.

Sure  eventually there is a freq that is too high  and the gear has more hw's  so the freq setting makes you lose money.

this is a typical result.     your top end will be 712, 718, 725, 731,737  just move your freq   6 at  a time

If you are not running in a control environment, then it will be hard to determine the reason due to multiple variables happening that are out of your control. I.E. It could be sunny, cloudy, misty, cool breeze, the humidity, etc. Then again, it could just be that you improve your miner's feng shui by increasing their air flow.

In my experience the determining factor in OC for antminers is HW and not temp.  This has been true for me going back to S1.  This assumes your PSU is more than up to whatever freq you set.  It's normal to see temps rise with higher freq but I always hit an unacceptable HW rate before I hit an unacceptable temp.
