that has happened to me on my A6 no pictures but I removed the board assemblies used a flat head screwdriver and very small hammer and the taped the plastic of the connectors and it still works, Just keep in mind that the locking tab on the new pcie cables are to be installed facing outwards, if it wasn't because your a Ham I would not suggest this, Good Luck Smiley

Thanks to Hagssfin & y'all...

Yeah, these are HP 1KW server rack bricks I get from Centrix with 12 ga wire on the gridseeds (I make them up) w/quality PCIe ends. Each brick only has to go about 60% (I use two bricks per A6). All the bricks test OK.

Something happened in the A6 unit to cause a huge draw across those connectors, or perhaps they were assembled with some sort of whiskering at those connections...I'm going to take it apart tomorrow and try to figure it out. Right now it's apparent there's a ground in there somewhere it's not supposed to be, methinks.

Oh, well. I'm gonna bring four of my S3s back online (I think the main breaker will handle 14 amps v. the 11/12 of the A6). Still not the same production, but at least not losing so much. Will try to do that tonight before crashing so I don't lose so much 5Nd.

To infinity and beyond...on two 741s and one of only 3...nope, make that 4...full nodes in Hawaii...on <30A. (I have other gear on the Hoth ice planet)

Both boards on my newest A6 have burned power sockets. The PSU tests perfect. Well...guess I'll see what warranty is like at Canaan.
 Cry

keep us posted on the RMA process - keen to compare it with Bitmain.

hoping the A7 coming soon, it will be my first SHA256 miner from Canaan...

btw, burnt power sockets likely amps overdraw - is the A6 the only device from PSU to power point?

Afternote: just read your additional info, madam... you still have the S3s... wow, I love my S5 it never dies and just works.... its now offline though, said my good byes to her. She will go to Labs and probably will succumb to hard hashing under Juvia's regime...

If I provided you good and useful info or just a smile to your day, consider sending me merit points to further validate this Bitcointalk account ~ useful for future account recovery...

those pcie connectors are not designed to work at 100% current draw for 100% of the time, the most avid gamer or video app will never maintain max current for days weeks months there will always be a period of rest. Oh and Bitmain will not honor warranty with any damaged pcie connectors

[/quote wow labs S5+ was no longer profitable even with cheap electric, also it takes a long time for ups sled to deliver to lab.

The S5 and 10 x S7s, enroute to Labs waiting for proper paperwork.

I cant keep it with me, too expensive to run - so their best chance is Labs and take advantage of my bigger farm's power package. Decided to put them to work to mine SHA256 multi-algo since BTC is moving up...

Not sure where to place this comment, question.

I have some payments that have red asterisks next to it and it would appear that those are dust payments by definition.
Question, will those get paid at some point?

Looks like a seller on ebay sold $15000 worth of S9's with PSU yesterday for $1500 apiece.
Trying to force people to pay with bitcoin.
Might be a scam, be careful.

kano-san has said that maybe, someday in the future, dust payments might get paid out.  Until then it all gets logged, so it won't get lost or missing, just not paid yet...

Well y'all, I just shut down my A6s, which means I have no miners here at the moment.  They just are not profitable anymore on 0.09/kWh power.  I'll bring them back online for winter heat when it gets cold enough outside.  Until then I'm waiting for news on the A7.

My plan is to send my A6s to Labrador if and when I can get an A7 in the house here. They can make money (not a lot, but a definite profit) in that venue...the power charge would be around USD$41/mo. if my math is correct (I'm paying about US$50 ea/mo for S7s, incl psu rental).

I hear ya, though. I still have my S3s, stored, but am going to pull four of them out now to replace the A6 that just went down.

It's an interesting occupation...each miner's situation is unique...and can be radically different depending on locale, circumstance, size. I'm so blessed that I have free power...and management has now acknowledged that they're going to pull new wire to give me 100 amps by next summer.
