The Grand Hotel would like to welcome all to visit for a stay and dine at the property.

Starting from 1601.1 (about 2015-8-16), the time will start moving in this era of Reconstruction, at a speed of 1 year per 1 real-week. "Script hosting" will happen once per real-week. Gold will be paid dividends. All buildings will dip to the same pool, and will be assigned pool shares based on a rudimentary and uniform formula, whose result can be seen in /CHAR tab "Z". The pool consists of all the current economic subgame pools, which collectively contain about 15,000 million. 15% of this will be divided each week, making owning buildings a very profitable exercise going forward.

Everyone (admins at least) can speculate in the Char DB whether it might make sense to repair the buildings. Windowless buildings are at -50%, so you can double your payout by finding and assembling windows. The Royal Palace repairs recently cost perhaps 750 million if windows are counted to market value. It is a lot, but RP is on track of receiving a 147 million (!!) pool dividend next Sunday. The profitability just became quite interesting.

NPC's will not cost anything, nor be useful in anything. Sorry. At least they won't age/die. 

We are currently testing the V.4: Reconstruction playable online version, and also scrum-developing Version Ultima, which can either be directed to be a version with a larger feature-set than V.4 by Christmas, or "an online DB access with player accounts" (as V.2:Ancients was to be), in as little as 1-2 weeks.

We bid 500 mil for the Stone Village Hotel in 2-C. It will be a good place to host the guests of our summer parties in the future. If we get it of course - the building is historic, same design as the Town Halls of Justice and workforce is included. (For the potential buyer, we remind that the Bank is willing to lend up to half of the purchase price - if you are not afraid that the leverage is the reason why the property is in auction...  ).

The Summer Pavilion in 2-NW (used to be called Summer Palace, but we adjusted down its importance) will be an approx 1,200 sqm event venue which includes full length Wine Cellar.

We have heard rumors that the wine making in the Kingdom - previously somewhat possible as evidenced by the Forte Spagnolo vineyards in 1-S - is abruptly collapsing. The climate just is unsuitable after the Flood Earthquake. FS can explain more. Wine will soon be possible to be acquired from France with IC, and later on imported by the Shippers & Merchants (subgame). In a few years from bottling, the character of the vintage is known to the experts, and good ones may be growing in enjoyment for up to 50 years (a real-year). Drinking good wine is good for your health, especially in Ultima.

As for other building projects that we undertake: to celebrate the Bicentenary (and to get to the Summer Pavilion better), the road between Old Town and New City will be constructed. Finally! Every other chapelry is connected by road. The road in this case is 10 m wide and paved. It will be raffled in the King's 200y Party, so that the King pays the construction and it is named after the winner's choosing.

(The road to University borough is called "Boulevard" and to San Pietro is "King's Esplanade". The planned road from San Pietro to Versailles is "Champs Elysees". The one leading to B.4 is unnamed: some lower level NPC Town official is currently trying to sell the right to name it for 20 million, and we have not reacted to the industrious conduct, surprising though it is. So the offer stays in force.

Stone prices are increasing. While the capabilities of the Kingdom's bookkeeping system do not allow NPC to be utilized, and quarrying cannot be started, the building has started in earnest and one project - The New Department Store (2,990 sqm) - yesterday took 3.4 million stone.

In case no remedy can be found before, and it is quite possible, as V.5 is far away, the peasants reactivate their old trade relations to sell stone to us, delivered to any borough, at a fixed price of 200 m/stone. There was never the intention to limit the building by the lack of stone. (The lack of windows is a premeditated game decision).

The RWWC is getting their shit together, and can offer the following schedule in window production:
- Continuously going on: conversion of WIA35 to WIAxxx, about 350 sqm of windows are converted per real-day
- In the beginning of 1601: 2,000*WIRS, first class of historical buildings may buy at reduced price, others market
- Approximately in the beginning of 1602: Rouen order of 5,000*WIRS (already paid)
- In the beginning of 1602: 3,500*WIRS, the new factory comes online, 2nd class may buy cheaply, others market
- From here onwards, 3,500*WIRS will be produced per year (real-week).

If there was no hoarding/warehousing of windows by any parties, and no new construction, and all wanted to fit the windows to their existing buildings, all the buildings would have windows by mid-1603 (3 weeks). The market forces dictate that the above is not true, and the windows shortage will be with us for some time still, a feature of this Era.

Let's face it. We must start importing our wine. There is nothing potable produced even in 1000 kilometers distance at the moment.

In V.5/Ultima, it is possible to drink water, but that is very hazardous. Drinking mead is an improvement, but still unhealthy. Beers are the way to go for commoners, but noblemen will opt for wine, at least on occasion. Wine is healthy and enjoyable. Spirits will be available for indulgence.

In Ultima specification (may differ from V.5), 30 days worth of drinks are consumed with one click, and this must be done once for each realday.

A case (12 bottles) of Bordeaux 1600 (12*W1600 in /F_OWN) wine can now be had for 1 IC (1600). There is currently nothing known about this wine; the knowledge whether the vintage is good or not, develops over time, and then it may be challenging/expensive to obtain more from France.

All wine in the same vintage is fungible, it gets better over time, and worse when it's too old. Some vintages age well, others don't. Good vintages may reach the mythical mark of 20/20 points, which makes them not only a heavenly pleasure to drink, but also a medicine, and undoubtedly a pleasure to own as well.

To get an idea how much wine is required to be on an all-wine diet, each realday you will be able to consume 30 bottles of wine, and should, to maintain yourself in the optimum condition.
