I can't confirm it but there is talk on a Polinex troll box of Ethereum double spending....lol
VNL is in the middle of a perfect storm it seems with a bitcoins problems and possibly a Ethereum failing where VNL doesn't .......they will be stealing VNL code I bet to patch it up...

I wouldn't laugh about something like this. Eth's success is would be good for all crypto. I am not invested in it due to the incredible amount of hype surrounding it, but it has brought a lot of new wealth to the crypto scene, and if it fails it could be detrimental to everyone.

It's been fixed. And I agree, ETH is a good project for bringing in new investors to the cryptosphere, we shouldn't laugh at other coins' expense. |

With the recent deployment of RC2 with ZeroTime support and the public beta looming I have taken measures to maximise transaction throughput while reducing blockchain size. The following measures were taken.
The maximum block size has been increased to 5 megabytes. This limit will double every 6 months.
The block timing has been increased to 400 seconds or 7.06 minutes.
This will initially allow for a minimum of 90 megabytes worth of transactions per hour or about 100 transactions per second.
Note: I am still testing this configuration on the test network so these numbers are not yet final.

It is removed because of some sellfish miners that started screaming before they thought about it. Don't worry though, it will get implemented in a honest way that supports scalability for VNL so it can reach 100 tx's per sec. |

Am I right in saying Vanilla coin doesn't have to make this choice and can be both? It also makes me wonder if a Bitcoin is best as a digital gold while another coin might be better at the VISA job....I think you know what coin I'm talking about.  |

We all should stop wasting our time trying to fight this kind of pointless FUD. The more we try to fight it, the worse it will get. Let's focus on these out there that haven't even heard of Vanillacoin, or these that are in doubt and don't know why they should invest in VNL. There's almost no one tweeting about VNL these days, except a small group of "hardcore tweeters"... We all should connect on Twitter, and retweet each other's Tweets, let the world know we're here! Also, I have seen this question so many times in different topics: What makes VNL so special, why should I buy it? It would be great if someone could write a FAQ about VNL, so we can refer these people to that document. For now, if they're lucky, they are referred to our OP, but I have also seen answers like: why should we spoon feed you, do your own research! Why should we act like a bunch of arrogant, offensive, "our coin is better than yours" teenagers? Don't forget most people are invested in more than one coin (like myself). Some of them do real research before they invest in a new coin, some of them need a little help to guide them on their way... I just hope we can put an end to these endless discussions, they are not worth it and actually even damage our reputation. Call me crazy but while FUD can be negative, it's also a good sign, ie someone feels threatened. I imagine many are defending Dash and Monero, so we kind of turned up in the middle of a fight. My advice is not to worry too much about FUD, it's keeps the topic on top and doing all the communication by IRC can make a coin seem invisible. Best thing is to have a moderated thread if it gets crazy, but keep the unmoderated too. And let's not be too aloof that we don't want to talk about price and even encouraging price moves. I've seen many coins get focused on tech and eventually no one cares. And one last thing, price movement is by far the quickest way to advertise a coin. People who believe in the coin and have some spare Bitcoin shouldn't sit on their hands watching the market stagnate, they should get buying and create momentum. It's not pumping it's a move against those who want to accumulate too cheaply, coins in a few hands is not good. Get buying. |
