remember when PoW was paused for something like 6 weeks some time back? yet the network didn't know the difference. safe to say PoS is working fine.
@losk22 if you really are having a problem setup a vm w/virtualbox and give it a go, maybe you have a software conflict

boolberry technically is a much better cryptonote than monero, however boolberry is dying. Do you know why? Because it has a ridiculous name for a currency, as vanilla. This coin needs to change name.

Except Vanilla is a word used in terms of technology.

I'm in agreement about the name, I passed over vnl for months until I read about zero time. .. vanilla just seemed like an odd name.
But I'm unsure that's the reason xmr is winning. I think it has more to do with its distribution model.

Care to elaborate on the distribution model of XMR? A richlist cannot even be created for that coin.

Actually after being asked to explain myself, I thought shot I must be thinking about a different coin... My apologies boolberry has a totally fair mining system with a very similar emission curve.... guess it is just the name... For some reason I thought boolberry had a heavy premine. I was wrong.

I do not fudding! I want justice! By the way the amount of faucet John really awesome! His problem POS really I have.
I have similar amount of coins, transferred in 3-5 various amounts into my wallet overtime from exchanges. Ran a few different versions of the wallet on Win7 and I "mint" some amount of VNL almost every day with no issues from staking. Haven't ever had any POS staking issues the entire time I've held coin in my wallet since April. -Brian

Thanks. I'm in the top 100 but Jesus, some people have a fuck-ton of coins :O Nice, but I see it takes a solid 15k, almost 16k VNL to break into the top 100. Even at these lower prices that's a good amount for an alt, about 4.5 BTC worth. Funny how the top 25 control more than the 101+ group. This just shows no matter what wealth is held by only the top 1%, assuming there are least 2,500 unique VNL users with some amount.

Distribution will never be perfect when prices and recognition are low. Once prices shoot up, early adopters will sell to newcomers. Even with bitcoin the distribution isn't perfect. Millionaires and billionaires will eventually hold the most because they can afford the most. There's no way to change that eventuality no matter the initial distribution. That's the way capitalism and free markets work. edit: Also, you have to take out Poloniex which has maybe 2.5 million, ie. 25% and Bittrex, which has maybe 500,000, ie. 5%. So, top 90+ have about 41%

Does anyone know personally these millionaires who always seem to have $100k worth of coins? It just seems strange. If I was that rich I wouldn't gamble on crypto. Maybe rich people just get bored and need to gamble.

That has little to do with it actually. Although "Boolberry" does sounds like a breakfast cereal. Look into the history of those two coins more and the branding wasn't the main issue, it was more connected to Supernet, the fall of BTER and other factors, like who was mining what.

100k doesn't make you a millionaire. Damn a nice car these days can cost nearly that. Don't forget the miners who have been causing problems for VNL plus some will be exchanges. Sure a few whales are involved but someone could of scoped up a ton of VNL when it was much cheap than now for not that much BTC. they took a risk, they did well. Most big holders are really just holding 30-100k of VNL and you don't need to be rich to do that. At least not at this stage.

https://twitter.com/jessecouch/status/636632572634767361From what I listened to the guy had some ok points, and it's true that VNL is in a trading range potentially hoping to rise at some point. But I think he is and was thinking purely like a stock trader, even using terms like retail investors......when lets face it most coin are only retail investors. I think coins do follow patterns but prices moves in coins are far more susceptible to news and also manipulation as the majority of coins still have tiny volumes compared to stocks. He missed the market manipulation and NEWS/FUD that is revolving around this coin so any real price discussion isn't going to follow charting analysis much.
