Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

true for coins who do not have high memory occupancy requirements.
also note that profitable != possible
still, you need to write the bitstream which is not just some lines of C-like code (as for GPU).

@bitl0ck

1) You need to point out evidence when you call a certain comment fact. You state that John bought all FPGAs (which he would be free to do as ZTEX just run out of FPGAs, but everyone knew that software is being developed for those specific boards since 3+ weeks atleast), but I don't see you showing invoices or numbers. Calling a "you think" sentence a "fact" just point to the fact that you are a troll. John posted a screen on talk.vanillacoin.net with his FPGA rigs, but please note that ocminer has atleast 3x that number at hand, which he owned prior to VNL developments starting.

2) Remember the faucet which had around 200k+ coins? Nothing else to add here.

3) Please post your adress with 50k coins and tx out/in now with a random number, let's say 3.01 to give proof on another one of your "facts".

Sidenote: software will be developed for different FPGAs if it can be made profitable.

Yup, you can make FPGAs on X11, but it won't be profitable without free energy and still would be a risk since you have no clue of knowing if the given coin/coins will survive for years.

Right, but it's good to reveal them as well what communities they support while they comes here to bash project and dev with nothing but lies.

So I go and order (6) 1.15y from ZTEX and this is what I get:

"Hi,

I'm sorry, they are out of stock and will not be produced anymore.

There was a customer who ordered the complete stock.

Regards Stefan"

What is the plan to allow for other FPGA mfr's?

-pokeytex

There you have it.

Shitpost

You stated that John bought up all FPGAs

I asked for proof. This isn't a proof on John buying up all FPGAs, but a proof that there are non for sale on ZTEX. Since they aren't manufacturing anymore, they only had low last piece supplies.

Also please how can you compare apples to oranges, the 2 technologies have totally different target groups. I won't even call you a proper troll because they would atleast do research and attack according to it, you are simply throwing in shitposts.

To be clear: I'm not stating that John didn't buy them up, but you have no proof. Even if he did, anyone could have bought them up during the 3 weeks where ZTEX boards were openly developed for. Also there are 2 more boards which can be easily used with similar software.

Bitspill, he could simply send the whole thing to the wallet and back to the exchange with the 3.01 sent seperately within a minute if he really wanted to.

Don't start feeding trolls. I know you are not happy with John, but this comment, really?

You want to start developing FPGAs for cryptonote, but people will just straight up buy all the proper board stocks till' you even get near completion of your project. Sad troll is sad.

You asked the XMR community for funds to be able to develop cryptonote FPGA mining and on the same day you come here trolling the Vanillacoin topic for what reason again? The developer (may have) bought up a remaining stock of ZTEX boards (which don't get manufactured anymore - and anyone could have bought them up in the past 3 weeks) so you feel like trolling the thread.

I feel you are hurt that there will be no proper boards on the market. You clearly had your agenda which wasn't hard to find.

And you believe someone who never commented prior to the current trolling, crying about John potentially buying FPGAs from the free market, opening a topic to try and develop fpga mining for a potential competitor and stating at the same time that he just sold 50k, because he had enough. Also not replying on people asking him for proof.

Note to self: unicorns are real.
