I don't think we will ever see prices this low again. Vanillacoin without a doubt, is going to be one of the top players in the cryptosphere.

Will the incentive status output always show me as "firewalled" if I'm behind a NAT regardless of the firewall settings?

If you are using a router you can forward the port to the IP of the computer running the node.

As far as the name is concerned do you thing that Vanilla is a proper name for a coin? It is associated with an ice cram Smiley

People have mentioned the name relates to this,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vanilla_software

It was also the first coin with a staking POS mobile phone Android wallet, which the "Vanilla" name works perfect considering Android OS updates all use names like Kit Kat, ice cream sandwich, lollipop etc etc )

So once you learn those bits of info the name seems quite perfect.

I did but it doesn't help. I suppose a public IP is mandatory for this.

ya I guess if your ISP is not providing you with an IP address then it wont work.  I have multiple computers behind a single IP though and it works for me, our situations must be different.

Good. Though the pdf is a little brief, it is better than nothing. Keep it up.

Interest awards will depend on the number of coins in a wallet or something? Just explain in human language?

wish ppl would stop calling it interest. peeps running healthy nodes can collect create income just for doing so, while PoW is ongoing. dev's proposal would phase in the reward scaling from 1-40% over a little more than a year if i read it right. i'm not sure how the collateral amount is determined, 10k seems a bit much

i think the core purpose here is "PoWer to the people"   Grin

Incentive reward will be 10% after next 33 days and 20% after ~hundred days. So it will be rising very quickly at the beginning. It's basically the last chance to scoop up cheap coins from the exchanges.

10k VNL ~2BTC at this price and ~6BTC at ATH not that much for my taste. Yes it could be 5k or even 1k, but seems John don't think that network needs that many nodes now and in the foreseeable future.

So given the current PoW reward of 62 VNL and if all coin supply will be locked in nodes (which is unlikely) the incentive will be about 3.82 VNL/day per node when the percentage reaches 10% in like 42 days or so. Correct me if I'm wrong.

It would be great to have a graph or calculator of these rewards.

Message to any hidden pools: you need to be on 0.3.5 before 0.3.6 deployment, or you will get rejected (by old protocol usage)

Latest on a Chinese exchange?

When the Chinese find out it sends in Zerotime Polinex goons won't be able to hold them back from buying.imo.

VNL needs some momentum whether people like it or not a coins success is tech and marketing, and the best marketing is a rising price. We should target the Chinese market asap.
