IMO Monero guys are so pissed, because we took them a lot of potential investors (look at monero chart).
My advice for MONERO community sell part of your coins and buy Vanilla, after you earn a lot of money on VNL you can rebuy XMR at lower price.

What are you talking about?  VNL's  tiny volume is a trivial 11 BTC and the price is getting #REKT because it's a pump-and-dump scam.

OTOH, XMR's volume is 300 BTC, and prices have been very stable at ~fiddy cents for many months.

The only "potential investors" VNL took are n00b kids who click on faucets all day and can't tell that VNL is a scam with code stolen from Bitcoin.

Your comment only confirms what I wrote. We (Vanilla) have only correction in uptrend, you are in constant dump. I repeat it again "Compare XMR AND VNL CHARTS" and stop fighting with us.

Cheers

Do I sync from scratch or just continue on ? As I read pools had to be on 0.3.5 before upgrading to 0.3.6 due to something john-connor mentioned.

I hate to be the one to say it, but; XMR isn't the only one that is declining. Not just VNL either. In fact, no big coins are looking so hot right now. Just saying...

Just download new version from http://vanillacoin.net/wallets.php
And let it run. You dont need to sync from scratch, it will continue from a point where it was synced before.

Thanks guys the process seemed to have worked I am also eligible for the node incentive but damn the 10K VNL I cannot afford ! I only have a smidgen over 3K Cheesy

Lower it to 5K & it might be better for VanillaCoin adoption.

you don't need any collateral for another week or three, kicks-in @ blk 220,000, i think. and i'd like to understand why the amount is so high also. Mammoth and Supercoin have decentralized coin mixers, colatteral for that system is 500 coin.

There will always be someone who will say than any amount is to high and should be lowered.
Personaly I think that 10k VNL is just right for collateral balance.
It's like you are investing in soft miner which will with time get bigger % from PoW.

I also agree with the 10k collateral lock-up.  It should be expensive to hold a superpeer.

  indeed a few months from now, the reward will become substantial. i understand that argument, but is the model it goes with obsolete?
(simple basic: this planet, even not counting the universe beyond, holds wealth beyond measure, even by 21st century standards).

The price correction is almost over. During next month we'll have accumulation period. Cool

For all monero supporters, who read this thread, I repeat again - sell your XMR and buy VNL, you won't regret it Wink

Umm.     collateral, zero time,  darknet, incentives....   general market TA.

They all point towards a market shift soon, if it hasn't happened already.

Then it seems like I didn't get a single incentive reward in a week. How often are they? The votecandidate value is true.

is your wallet unlocked?

                   :::

Wallets don't have to be unlocked to receive node incentives, only for staking and sending I believe.

  i have to say it doesn't seem so -

started wallet after a comp restart:

{
    "walletaddress": ,
    "collateralrequired": 0,
    "collateralbalance": 0,
    "networkstatus": ok,
    "votecandidate": false,
    "votescore": -1
}

after unlocking
{
    "walletaddress": ViykunxxiBsjrL7paRswFF5Egp94rkJJX1,
    "collateralrequired": 0,
    "collateralbalance": 0,
    "networkstatus": ok,
    "votecandidate": true,
    "votescore": 20777
}

Yes, you need to unlock it for ~5-10 sec each time you start it, after that you can lock it again and still get incentive rewards.
