I've deactivated proof of stake, I'm not sure it's compatible with collateral because stake seems split transaction.

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Staking does not change the original transaction. If your collateral balance goes into stake you could become ineligible for incentive rewards until it returns but only from a local perspective since the original transaction remains unchanged in the blockchain. If you have problems read your log file to see what it says about your collateral. Thank you for your support.

Or you could send two 10k transactions to the wallet and when one stakes the other is collateral and you are always getting super peer rewards.

What does that mean "from a local perspective"? Would the superpeer still be eligible for rewards while staking? If so, would you be willing to write an rpc to disable staking? EDIT: My bad, it's right there in the config file

That may not be in your best interest (lol pun) though. Incentive rewards are much greater than staking rewards.

When it comes to Proof-of-Stake + Node Incentives you currently have 3 options: - Lock your wallet after getincentiveinfo states votecandidate : true
- Disable Proof-of-Stake in the config.dat
- Rotate multiple collateral deposits (resending if required)
Thank you for your support.

Hello vanilla community! I realize you guys are discussing the ins and outs of the new vnl feateures (which are pretty cool) but i have something to ask.
While i am content with daily returns my rig would yeild, the temperatures this algo is producing are kinda keeping me away.. 80c is a little hot!! Ive read other people seeing 90+. Wolf0's sgminer produces less heat but with half the hash.
So i ask, what are your temps using the smelter miner and how long have you been mining? i would like to mine this but its not worth damaging my equipment.

Smelter used to go around 75-80 for me on an gigabyte r9 270x, but the fan was only around 90% if I recall (not mining with gpus anymore). Obviously you could underclock your cards or get a better cooling if you want to lengthen the lifespan of the cards. Every algo will produce high heat when the miners are highly optimized. I was mining VNL with gpus for atleast half a year, but there are people on IRC mining it since the moment the gpu miners were released.

but there are people on IRC mining it since the moment the gpu miners were released. ... like me, for whom GPU abuse has become a way of life i'm very happy if i can keep my 280x as cool as 80 oC. 88 oC is prolly average. i figure wear and tear might be offset by future %age sell-offs ... the gpu has been mining 24-7 for about 20 months, i'd guess average temp over that time is abt 85 oC, but the unit still produces ~450mh/s with smelter

Hey guys, thank you for your insight. Its a bit more enlightenening to hear this from a couple of hero members as i figure you guys are less likely to lead me astray. Your both appreciated.
For the time being my cards are mounted to the mobo. My third card has a good enough gap from the other two that it actually (obviously) runs significantly cooler. When/if i expand on my rig the cards will be on risers and will have more air to breathe.
Ultimately i needed to know if these temps are safe and taking your words for it, ill be alright. Again, thank you for the clarification.

If you have a garage and can get some shelving like this put the MB's on tile which dissipates heat. Spread the GPU's out and use the USB powered risers. The setup is very cheap and effective. Most products are accessible from your local home depot or lowes. This is my rig. In the heart of summer I have an oscillating fan that blows on the rig. It runs pretty cool in the summer but SUPER cold in the winter! Win win. -pokeytex
