That's just the most logical explanation. No point in creating conspiracy theories. Block rewards are still high and miners are constantly dumping the coins. Hopefully incentive rewards will change that.

Gotcha. That would explain the "collateralrequired": 0, on the console line. Also, looking at my results from getincentiveinfo below, my vote score is 8637, can someone eli5 what a good score is. I have read the white paper but still not certain..

Yeah, that's just my assumption based on market behaviour. Also private miners for VNL were discussed here previously. It's quite obvious someone is still using them.

And concerning the trolls, I doubt they can make any difference no matter how hard they try. Maybe only for the most useless p'n'd coins, which is not the case here (I hope).

Yes, you need to unlock it for ~5-10 sec each time you start it, after that you can lock it again and still get incentive rewards.

 can you confirm that works for you? tried it, when i locked the info showed a negative votescore and "false"

I can confirm, it's working for me. Made few tests on different machines, got incentive reward while wallet was in "locked" state for at least 12 hours.

You don't need any collateral to become a superpeer, but you need it to collect the reward(I might be wrong).

You are right, to be eligible for SuperPeer you need to have open port for incoming connections (can be found in config.dat)

If your wallet is locked you will still get rewards if a super peer,
but you will not get PoS interest of 0.7%. For that wallet has
to be unlocked, which I see no reason not to be unless the
computer is in a public place.
