I don't think it's likely that John would let his identity slip and I don't like the idea of revealing people's identities....it's just not crypto etiquette.

BUT if the above general address is legit then John is very rich.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

First of all since John wanted to be anonymous, do you think he would use his real address?
I'm pretty sure he uses VPN. And if you think he lives in New York, then you must also
think he is a vampire because his timezone is not Eastern.

Dude chill out, I didn't post it (I simply google mapped the address) Like I said I doubt if JC would let his identity slip......I was simply saying IF it was him.

People will say I'm a conspiracy theorist but the amount of money and possibly big investors that some who even support Ethereum have wondered if banks are some of the whales that have come into ETH.

It wouldn't be crazy to think that the drip drip VNL dumping that doesn't really help the dumpers much as they are pissing in their own pool COULD possibly be an strategy to push down a potential competitor. I think some serious money people are trying to guarantee ETH wins. a personally I think you can't really keep a good coin down....you can damage it, but never destroy it.

Crypto aint as complex as it might be fun to believe.
I think all it is - the people complaining about manipulation and dumping their stack is actually why the price falls. Which is ironic because it's the people who complain about other selling and then sell themselves that does it.

What I do agree with however, is that you can't keep a good coin down.

I only bring this potential in cause ETH is a little bit unique, I was seeing 200btc buys come in for ETH, even Polinex users recognised there were possibly bigger forces at play with it. At the very least Polinex users seem to want the price of vnl down if anything to not distract from their baby ETH. At this volume it's ultimately a play thing for even a minor whale, conspiracy or not.

Any push going on for more exchanges, would obviously love to see a big Chinese exchange that negates the dump trading on Polinex. But would be just as happy to get more exchanges generally.

That exchange already has Hamradiocoin and Truckcoin but Vanilla coin needs to vote.....the indignity. VNL is getting some decent steady vol, exchanges should be happy to have it. What about Cryptsy?

I think that Cryptsy should be avoided.

I agree that liquidity is necessary but there are reasons why I have stopped trading there.  Not to mention that the two exchanges VNL is currently on needed help to compile...meaning that BigVern would need to spend some time figuring it out (and it looks like he might have bigger concerns since he has a. lost trust and b. would have to put in some effort.)

The XT/Core debate should be considered here as well.  VNL is, as far as I can tell, technically superior but there are other market forces involved.  XT being one of them and a reason for the urgency was cited in a reddit post as being that there are technically better solutions coming up.  Whether or not they were referencing VNL;I doubt; but VNL still occupies that role.  Gavin coming out and tweeting that he was going to interact swith BTCD is a huge confidence blow to where the core devs are standing (which is not in relation to each other...seriously, a core dev citing an alt known to be financially manipulative (sigh...I have done my homework) is unprecedented in my knowledge.

There is a lot going on in the alt world right now.  I like that the fundamentals here are solid and not being compromised in light of all of the drama (inter and intra).  Now is the time to just watch and see what happens...cuz BTC drama is not over in my opinion.

Edit to add - Props to Polo.  'Needed help' is probably irreflective of the attention they placed.  But anyone who was around for the C-Cex drama knows that VNL is not a plug and play for exchanges...

2nd Edit to Add - Anyone think it is suspicious that BTC rallied recently prior to its current 'dump'?  Presumably, XT code was already discussed/written/maybereadyforimplementation when it was rising to 300...
