Especially, this being a race, why wait to announce the winner 5 days after the race is over?
Because it's so much more EXCITING to watch people's blood pressure go through the roof in speculation and anticipation!

Because it's so much more EXCITING to watch people's blood pressure go through the roof in speculation and anticipation! It is quite fun to watch the drama in the threads heat up with speculation and accusations. These companies have your money already. They've funded their development/production. No amount of news posts will speed up the process or decrease the chances of it being a scam. If they deliver, people will be lined up to throw money at them no matter how badly they acted on the first batch. Step back, take a breath, relax .

I would assume its ASICMINER since eleuthria seems to be much more active in this thread than the Avalon threads lately.... Not sure if I'm happy about it or not, I own some ASICMINER, but also have a few Avalon batch 2 orders...

I'm more of a lurker in the Custom Hardware threads because almost everything in them is trolling. I tend to load the thread and look to see any new trollpics, then close it. I came here because it got linked in my pool thread, and I've been working on being more active in threads other than my own this year [mostly because the pool has been stable lately, to the point there isn't much being said on the thread anymore].

10% more online now: 1,481.42 GH/s It's night in China so if it is ASICMINER they are up working late... which would be the thing to do! I just registered a BTC Guild user and got a user ID only just above 67117 so they are a relatively new user (I guess we already knew this). Sorry speculation is fun. The mystery miner now entered the top 25 in blocks found (11). Which corresponds to an earning of 275 BTC (~6500 USD). Not bad for a days work.

Some of you guys are hilarious! I'm looking forward to updates as much as anyone, but if they really are busy getting all of the machines online, I can wait until the Thursday update!

You feel its a compromise? BTW, I am not crying as loud as my wall of texts might suggest, it is for that reason they turned into wall of texts. Just explaining that there is not really a downside to give a yes or no at very least, but some upsides. If everything is always fine as a shareholder, you have no voice. In other businesses (as some like to compare it) people have 24/7 access to financial data and can monitor the operations, we unfortunately don't have that luxury, so these boards are the only thing we got. And not being able to know if a product on your market is yours is somewhat underwhelming.

If they have work to do then they should do. But to think that there arent 5 minutes a day to say whats going on... thats not convincing... i would love to hear they work that hard but i neither think its needed nor that its done in such a way...

12 blocks now. Going to hit the top of the "most shares" table very soon, too.

All I can say is that this is Bitcoin. I don't believe it until I see six confirmations.

I must be getting old. The longer I look at those pictures, the more they look like renderings to me.
Anyhow, they do appear to be built for a backplane. That should be the white connector on the back of each board. The white things at the top and bottom appear to be just guides.
More interesting, they are built for vertical airflow. Either they are planning to put a fan module at the top of each stack, or they are built for a datacenter with ducted cabinets.
Looks like 40 or 48 chips per blade, and using the PCB for heat conduction, which fits with the QFN package shown earlier. Or the ASIC is on the side under the heatsink and we are seeing a rectangular grid of something else. It is hard to tell from these angles.
If I did not see the cable dangling on the right side I would also think they were renders. I am really surprised they would have an assembled unit without the backplane but it is possible. The boards could communicate with as little as a 4 pin cable and the power hookup so they may not use a backplane at all.

Assuming the BTC guild monster was ASICMINER: So we're back at 1.5 TH/s after the DDOS... had a decent increase from 1 TH/s last night, but if this is how long it takes to get half a TH/s up, I hope something goes faster soon.

The mysterious miner on BTCGuild is expanding again 1.65 TH/s now, so unless Friedcat is working through the night, I would say it is someone else.... No update today....

If that is Asicminer, it would be interesting to know what the plans are for the money being raised (~$5000/day?). Is there enough in the bank from the IPO to fund the full 50TH/s expansion, or will some of this be withheld in order to get all the wafer starts underway for the big push now that the design has been proven?
