Miami to give ‘Bitcoin Yield’ from MiamiCoin to its citizens.

Quote
The city of Miami will soon give out a “bitcoin yield” to its citizens from the staking of its cryptocurrency, Miami Mayor Francis Suarez announced on CoinDesk TV Thursday morning.

“We’re going to be the first city in America to give a bitcoin yield as a dividend directly to its residents,” Suarez said

Sorry but they lost me at some shitcoin called Miami Coin, that seems to be required to stake.

Like I said won't happen anytime soon. But it is going to happen.

I don't think it will ever happen. But if it does, you can be sure that within about 10 years of that "law" or change, plenty of coins will move from old addresses to new ones, then they are no longer considered "abandoned".

You don't even have to move them all. You could literally send a tiny amount of dust from an address with a large amount of btc and that address would no longer be considered "abandoned".

Also, philipma1957 talks about "returning thousands of lost coins to circulation", but last time I checked there is no such public address labeled "circulation".  Roll Eyes

....  I think there is a strong possibility this is the phase the market is in right now, we've seen it before in previous bull runs right before some epic rises on thin volume

... I tend to think of it as the calm before the storm of the manic mark-up phase, you see it in other commodity markets also, grains, softs especially and local weekly cattle auction rings all share the same characteristics, also great studies in human psychology of markets

... basically the market is running out of sellers at these prices as the sellers now are expecting/demanding higher prices for their goods .... the buyers are there at the ring with cash in their pockets waiting for cheapest prices but they can see pretty much how many cows are left in the pens, the grass is going crazy in the paddocks back home but the sellers are in solidarity sitting on their hands saying NUP .... there's a quiet, tension in the atmospehere as the Mexican standoff goes through it's dance

... then the first buyer loses his nerve and puts in a big bid well above market, bang, that is the starting gun for the mark-up phase

... all the bids start coming in higher and higher but only a few get filled, fomo kicks, still no volume, the sellers are going to wait for the new price level to establish when it's in new territory

In other words, the market float is fake and getting thinner by the day. Whale traders know this and can use this to their advantage. Large whale bots are programmed to buy at predetermined technical indicators, but also have insider knowledge of the true underlying float. Blast off happens when whale bots volume buying overwhelms the float.

It's bitter reality but you can only do one and those who believe Bitcoin knows the history of government and now they trust the Bitcoin. You just understand the chronology of this and Bitcoin will be your sole savoir.

After a year of printing trillions of $$$, the U.S. govt thinks nothing of throwing another $1.2T onto the pile:

https://www.cnn.com/2021/11/06/politics/president-joe-biden-infrastructure-bill/index.html

And they have another multi-trillion $$$ bill waiting in the wings already.

Get prepared for more of these, like every 1-2 years. Money printer continue go brrrr. It won't stop.

Certainly looks like there is a spinning of semantics going on though but I would hazard a guess as usual the truth is somewhere in the middle.

You can "hazard a guess" all you want, but the truth isn't somewhere in the middle, it's right there in the science data I posted. You remember, the science?  Roll Eyes

Actually you can make that shit up, thats why its called fake news.

How about providing a actual link from the Italian Institute of Health.

I can't find a thing on this and everything I find states deaths are increasing.

https://www.epicentro.iss.it/en/coronavirus/bollettino/Report-COVID-2019_5_october_2021.pdf

1. Overall, 2.9% (A grand fucking total of 230 out of 130,468 people) of the sample presented with zero comorbidities. Thus 97.1% had 1, 2, 3 or more comorbidities.

2. Median age of deaths: (median age women, 85 years - median age men, 80 years). The average age of death for most people who manage to live a long, healthy life.

I guess only watching some scamming cunt making money out of victims without the theatricality would have been a hard watch.

The problem with these shitcoin things is that they're all short con games. You can only screw the mark for the amount of money they have, and there is little true profit in that.

No, I'm waiting for someone to adapt a proper long con game (pay off, rag, wire) to the altcoin world. That's where the real money is to be made, not doing this crappy gold briick NFT garbage or simple frauds like the wipe.

Pretty sure the ETH folks have done this quite well...

The Ethereum network will be the "scam platform dujour" for a very long time to come. The specific scams will come and go (and get even more insane), but the platform that runs everything, as well as sky high fees associated, will make the shitcoin scammers very wealthy over the long term.

That's the most likely reason that ETH will never die the cold, miserable death that it should.

Another one bites the dust.

'Squid Game' cryptocurrency collapses in a $3 million scam
Its creators may have made off with as much as $3.38 million.

https://www.engadget.com/squid-game-cryptocurrency-scam-073957132.html
Maybe in 10 years time people will realize that most altcoins are scams and we can get bigger returns on btc because more people are using it. I do not know why people continue to buy altcoins get scammed and then act surprised that it happened especially when a altcoin is named after a popular series because they wanted to use that hype to make money.

There is literally a coin called ELON: Dogelon Mars and also has variants.
Elongate
ElonBalls
Fuck Musk
LuckyPig

Countless football fan tokens.

Mental.

It's both fun and satisfying watching a whole new generation that have no clue what penny stocks are, get rekt by the exact same playbook as penny stocks, just through a different medium.

Apparently getting rekt is the only way they will learn, and then ---> bitcoin.

In more "you can't make this shit up" news...

https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/italian-institute-health-drastically-reduces-its-official-covid-death-toll-number

Quote
Italian newspaper Il Tempo reports that the Institute has revised downward the number of people who have died from COVID rather than with COVID from 130,000 to under 4,000.

“Yes, you read that right. Turns out 97.1% of deaths hitherto attributed to Covid were not due directly to Covid,” writes Toby Young.

Of the of the 130,468 deaths registered as official COVID deaths since the start of the pandemic, only 3,783 are directly attributable to the virus alone.

“All the other Italians who lost their lives had from between one and five pre-existing diseases. Of those aged over 67 who died, 7% had more than three co-morbidities, and 18% at least two,” writes Young.

“According to the Institute, 65.8% of Italians who died after being infected with Covid were ill with arterial hypertension (high blood pressure), 23.5% had dementia, 29.3% had diabetes, and 24.8% atrial fibrillation. Add to that, 17.4% had lung problems, 16.3% had had cancer in the last five years and 15.7% suffered from previous heart failures.”

The Institute’s new definition of a COVID death means that COVID has killed fewer people in Italy than (whisper it) the average bout of seasonal flu.

blah blah blah garbage shitcoin advice and other inane gibberish

1017  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 31, 2021, 02:16:24 AM
Bitcoin would likely be for more affluent enjoying the "reality" in their enclaves/citadels, and the majority would live using doge, shib, mana (or name some other s-coin example) in the virtual worlds (apart from the time spent on dreadful "work" in Amazon warehouses, Walmart, etc.)

Bitcoin is quite usable for casual commerce at $1m/coin with L2 like Lightning. But that will start to have trouble at $100m/coin. But Bitcoin can adapt. I foresee a (soft/hard) fork for sub-sat values coming in the near future.

In "real" world, yes, my point was that VR worlds usage might be in other tokens, as they are 'native' for particular worlds, as MANA is for Decentraland.
It is a 'currency' of that particular world.
I think that large % of commerce might at some point occur in the VR "worlds", but i could be wrong about that, of course.

Now you can see why Facebook was pushing so hard on getting govt approval for their Libre shitcoin... for their stupid Metaverse.

as well as everyone else in the same boat. cuz waiting for a charge at some charging station miles away from home just aint gonna happen.

And, of course, having a driveway of your own you can charge in is far from the rule in any case. A rarity in many cities.

never thought of those who only have on street parking. cables snaking everywhere.. not

i just cant see the existing power grid is gonna handle double (?) the power when everything (heat/transport) is electric.

now i do like electric stuff; i have a battery powered chainsaw, trimmer and week wacker for light yard stuff (with gas chainsaws and weedwacker for heavier stuff) and i love the near zero maintenance that electrics have. but once nearly all consumer stuff is electric.. is our grid gonna hold? no one seems to talk about that? or is our grid actually capable now and im worrying about nothing?

Its not the grid holding that you have to worry about, it's the (*cough* totally unplanned *cough*) energy cyber attacks coming in the future that will bring down residential power and internet, intermittently, for days, weeks, and/or months at a time. Probably not long enough to kill people, mind you, just long enough to annoy and harass them into forced energy self-reliance.

I've had complete solar planned for some time, just have to pull the trigger and soon. I want to be ready.

Twitter has an all encompassing response to this: NGMI.

It’s just like when the price was hovering around $39k after the Elon deluge of April/May. N00bs talking about a bad chart and sub $20k

My scarred brain told them to Hodl because we were at the exact spot where people do a Mindrust. Scarred because I have lost a lot of Bitcoins in the past that way.

Some will never learn. Let them part with their precious and give us a good time the rest of our lifes.

Coins getting sold, taken off the exchanges, never to be seen again.

Good day, Sir. You get nothing!

Or summarised: Not Gonna Make It  Grin

At this point anyone could pull a Mindrust at any btc price point on the chart and regret it 6 months later. Hodling is the only way forward.
