1121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Top 5 Gambling Strategies on: September 15, 2023, 11:44:03 PM
Your title is top 5 but you only mentioned three so I guess you want us to go to that link for us to see the remaining two.
You nailed it.

Well, i say strategies are personal and it depends on every game. It might work on others but it doesn't mean it will work to you. You don't need to reference others experience because it will be probably different from yours.
What i say is make your own strategies, not by its name but all your reference, like when and where to bet, how often, etc.
1122  Other / Meta / Re: Is the first Merit the hardest Merit to get? on: September 15, 2023, 11:32:34 PM
For spammers, yes. But for those who learn how to make quality posts on discussion boards, no. Although, there are times it's hard but not all the times it depends on where you posts but usually it will get merits for what it deserves.
1123  Other / Meta / Re: Sections with no Signatures on: September 15, 2023, 04:01:37 PM
In my little time on this forum , i came to know that WO does not show signatures. By the way, i do not know the reason for this.
It became safe haven for signature campaign spammers both bounty and bitcoin paying campaign. And there's a request[1] to disabled merit on such board too.

1124  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinex hacked, $54M stolen on: September 14, 2023, 11:44:55 PM
The platform confirms that all those affected will be compensated and that the hack was only able to acquire a small portion of the total assets on the platform’s hot wallets.
Good thing if it's the case, or it's just a cover up story to let its users not to panic, but let's hope it's the other way around.

According to the statement, the cause of the incident was the leakage of the hot wallet private key, and the assets in CoinEx cold wallet have not been affected.
Can someone tell me if these "hot wallet private keys" are just saved on their platform's server, i mean on their hosting servers for them to control the withdrawal on their user's daily withdrawal, then just replenish the addresses if it lacks balance on it. Because if its the case then it'a easy much easier for hacker to compromised such thing.
1125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I took a proposal to my State Governor to accept Bitcoin Technology on: September 14, 2023, 11:09:38 PM
I’m from Nigeria and I know how difficult it is as a constituent to meet with our representatives in government, much more a Governor of a state. It makes me wonder on what capacity did you visit the Governor? Are you also a politician or just a concerned citizen with a vision for the state. If it’s the later, I doubt your story because I know my country.
What you had mentioned is none of your or our concern, the fact that the suggestion/proposed letter was forwarded and received by their office is already commendable. In fact it's great initiative of your people no matter how you look at it.

About the suggestion, what is the particular matter to be discussed/learned on that subject/program? When you say bitcoin technology, does it mean the technology/programming behind? It's much complicated IMO if there is no basic programming subject teaching there.

Or the basics on how bitcoin works, transactions, the financial knowledge, etc? Because if you mean the financial part, better to have a financial literacy subject/program as well on that curriculum.
Or if may mga bata man, yun yung na akit sa ganyang possible returns. Sadly, dami paring walang alam dito satin about sa ganitong promises when it comes to money investments. At yung "crypto king"? Eh di GG ka ngayon. Lmao.
1127  Other / Meta / Re: can we use live signatures on this forum. on: September 14, 2023, 03:59:12 PM
You mean animated signatures? Using bbcode? There's no such thing for bbcode. Now if you want the animated images on signature, it's not allowed too, the same on putting images on signature.

The same for animated avatars, its not allowed anymore. Those who have them are those who never changed their avatars since this new rule was implemented.
1128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your take on Mt. Gox refund ? on: September 13, 2023, 11:15:31 PM
First off, congrats after almost a decade of waiting they will finally those funds. But I doubt these users will sell off their bitcoins once they receive them, unless they already stop believing bitcoin and just there for the refund. While on the other hand, those users who will get the refunds will probably hodl considering the price is still below 30k unlike 2 months ago.
1129  Other / Meta / Re: Fixing broken images on other's post? on: September 13, 2023, 01:57:31 AM
theymos created a poll for it and five months passed, no final decision and solution is made.
I knew that thread already and it doesn't solve what OP is trying to tell about the threads of inactive OP that has imgur images on it. Unless theymos do the #3 in the poll but it risks user's privacy which is a no-no for most of us.
As what i mentioned the script of Tryninja is way much better but it should be done on server's side for all of the post that has imgur images, which is only theymos can do it, but the risks should be take note first before doing it.
1130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ouch, today someone made a transaction with over $500k fee. on: September 13, 2023, 12:03:03 AM
Now, this is what you called a news. What a messed up. But based on previous the same incidents the fee was refunded by the miner who mined the blocked, i just don't how it will go this time.
1131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New P2P bitcoin exchange platform novexus.io on: September 12, 2023, 11:02:47 PM
The exchange is only for cashapp to bitcoin transactions which i don't think will be very useful. Cashapp already accepts bitcoin transactions, you can buy or sell on the app without going to any third party sites like this.

Doesn't seem like a p2p exchange to me if it is centralized and is going to require me signing up and verify my KYC documents
The site doesn't require KYC yet, but that doesn't mean it won't require lately. Well, most p2p sites that require kyc are bound to disappear like what happened to other p2p exchanges the shutdown.
1132  Other / Meta / Re: Fixing broken images on other's post? on: September 12, 2023, 10:48:50 PM
Thanks for the idea It will work as a temporary way but we have masterminds and AI members so there is the possibility of coming up with a better way is the actual reason why I brought up this discussion.
I'm afraid that the only bandaid solution made by Loyce and Tryninja is the only way to recover and fix those broken links, manually. It's only theymos can do the most, like to make a script for the whole bitcointalk that will use like what Tryninja's script do. This may require lots of time since the post numbers are already in 62M count.
1133  Other / Meta / Re: Altcoin Wallet Board In Alternate Cryptocurrencies Needed - Why Admin Sleep ? on: September 12, 2023, 03:26:26 PM
Op if I am not mistakenly there is an altcoin forum were all tells (discussion) of altcoin are being held
The most familiar is altcointalk i dont know how active is right now. I won't say anything about the suggestion since it's already repeated the reason behind.
1134  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcoin forum app store on: September 11, 2023, 11:08:09 PM
I really doubt you can make it unless theymos cooperate with you, especially when POST/GETing data to and from bitcointalk servers. Although it's possible only for WebView, but that won't work in App Store. Well, i'll give you the benefit of the doubt.
1135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Preparations for BTC Halving and bull market on: September 10, 2023, 11:14:32 PM
That's good plan. Anyone who have preparations such as this are sure ready for upcoming halving. I never think anything like that aside from holding BTC on my wallet, my HW is not working anymore so i just keep it the way i do it currently.

1136  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: catex.io & dex-trade.com on: September 10, 2023, 10:46:17 PM
I heard about catex but never used them before, actually they have open accusation[1] of holding somene funds but that's wayback 2019 i don't know if they were resolved.
About the other one, never heard of them since i didnt use dex exchanges other than pancake swap and other related exchanges.

Question: Where did you get your P2PS? From their forum bounty or outside the forum? Because i know bounty tokens cannot be transfered yet or send to exchanges. Unless you buy tokensfrom those exchanges.

1137  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PayPal Just Announced Plans to Launch a USD Stablecoin - Thoughts? on: September 10, 2023, 10:37:11 PM
For a company like PayPal who love to control their ecosystem...I bet you this stablecoin will make it possible for buyers and sellers to be able to chargeback because buyer/seller protection are among their feature products that make PayPal popular .
Thinking about that, it's really possible since it runs in eth network with of course smart contracts and with all what have seen from all the existing stablecoins — frozen funds, so expect that to happen.
1138  Other / Meta / Re: Too Many Forum Boards - Outdated Threads - Let's Delete Boards on: September 10, 2023, 10:15:12 PM
There will be no "many forum boards" they are there for their purpose.

Also, even having the best suggestion had ever been won't rank you up lmao.
1139  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: HitBTC scam on: September 10, 2023, 10:07:43 PM
It's honestly hard to believe that a $1000 can lead to so many questions. Maybe this is the case of dirty crypto, that's why they're so strict? I'd imagine they'd want to make sure that the money is clean before letting anyone trade with them.
Being strict is one thing, every regulated exchange do that — to ask KYC. Dirty crypto are only plausible in deposits not on withdrawals where users usually getting problems. But with all the mentioned reasons, this exchange is built different. This is the worst, most shittiest exchange that is still up, the same thing on yobit that should be avoid of.
1140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: History of Cryptocurrency on: September 10, 2023, 03:25:08 PM
Looks like your thread is made for merit. If you're going to make a thread about cryptocurrency history then do it with proper research.

Here is the brief summary thread[1] of bitcoin history at least until late 2019.

It's hard to believe that Litecoin is the first altcoin and is still surviving to this day,
It's Namecoin actually and not Litecoin. Although, they are created the same year but Namecoin was made months before the other alts including LTC.
