1121  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you ever been scammed ? on: July 14, 2023, 04:13:54 PM
Bitcoin doubler scam, and that's where I fell in the beginning. I thought it's very easy to make a lot of bitcoin and I was so naive then. Without thinking, I deposited some bitcoin because someone recommended it to me.

But by now we all know that this is obviously scam. And so I'm not afraid to tell everyone was experience about it and try to spread the news that there's no such thing as easy bitcoin. It's hard to earn BTC by the way. It's better that we work our ass off and earn it rather than thinking of investing it into something like a doubler or whatever the scamming is calling it right now.
1122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What term to use? Halving or Halvening? Term history on: July 14, 2023, 04:00:23 PM
Yeah, doesn't matter whether it's halving or halvening, sometimes I used both of this terms, interchangeably.

And I think members here are not confused, it's just a semantics and nothing more. And there are people here that English is not their first language, so they can used anything at long as they can convey the message and the other party understands it, then it's fine. We don't need to complicate things around here, IMHO.
1123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte II on: July 14, 2023, 12:11:23 PM
Joshua can't probably repeat what happened when they first met in the ring. If they had a rematch shortly after their first match, Joshua could have easily won it. But since this is 8 years later and Joshua has already suffered the effects of his first loss and also his back-to-back losses against Usyk, he will not be the same very confident guy. This is more of Dillian's bigger chance for a revenge. If Joshua wins, it will probably be a close UD.
Joshua is likely not the same fighter he was when he was undefeated and a champion. Therefore, I honestly believe there's a good chance that Whyte will be able to level the playing field in the rematch. This would make for a more intriguing anticipation, and we might even see a trilogy of fights between them. If AJ were to lose, it would be unlikely for him to pursue a fight with Wilder.

I don't know if a trilogy is necessary or whether it will happen if Dillian will win this fight. I think it will just be a revenge on the part of Whyte II and Joshua's 3-1 record for the past two years would make him less and less of a valuable opponent. The loser of Zhang vs Joyce II match could be next. Or if Deontay will be fighting Ruiz Jr. next, it is possible Joshua will face the loser. If it's Ruiz who will lose, which is more likely, then it's possible to have a different trilogy.

Perhaps it was just the circumstances that Dillian Whyte was given another crack of Joshua here. As others have said, it's a faded version of Joshua now but Eddie Hearn needs to find a opponent that can bring back Joshua's confident so Dillian Whyte is a perfect fit for it. Maybe a trilogy can happen, or maybe if Joshua losses here then there's no more Wilder for him in the horizon or even Tyson Fury and it could be over for him. Or least he is now considered just a B-level fighter and just looking for payday before he retires.
1124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: July 14, 2023, 11:49:06 AM
On this fight, I have the same thoughts as with you. As I have said, I'm seeing Fulton as trying to get very tough and will want to proved that this is his division. He might run though and will used his boxing IQ and try not to fight toe to toe in the beginning. That Figueroa shows that Fulton too has heart and will not go down easily so let's see if he can do that and last the distance against Inoue here. Yes, lots of fights this July so it's really hard where and who to bet to, maybe a good parlay will do as well.

If Fulton have the reach advantage then it would be the smart move to strike from the distance avoiding face to face confrontation because we all know that Inoue is a devastating boxer especially when he get his opponent in his range.  The body punch maybe the huge factor here so if Fulton can withstand these body punches then there is a huge possibility that he maybe able to outmaneuver and outbox Inoue.

As per their record,

Fulton's reach - 70½″ / 179cm
Inoue's reach - 67½″ / 171cm

And Fulton is taller by 1 in. So he has the advantage as far as their physical is concern. But we all know that Inoue has the advantage of his power. So Fulton will have to play smart that's why I'm seeing that he might used his boxing IQ and keeping Inoue at bay with his stiff jab as he has the reach here.

Fulton can also go to a brawling match, again based on his fight against Figueroa but it will be a bad idea for him.
1125  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 14, 2023, 07:26:55 AM
Also, Eimantas Stanionis have been ordered by the WBA to be the mandatory challenger to the winner of Errol Spence Jr. vs Terence Crawford.

But isn't it there is a rematch clause between Errol Spence Jr. vs Terence Crawford? So I doubt that the mandatory fight can happen. Maybe the best thing is to elevate Eimantas Stanionis to full champion.

Yes, there is indeed a rematch clause between Crawford and Spence Jr.

The Crawford-Spence loser has 30 days from the night of their fight to exercise his contractual right to an immediate rematch.

That said, many boxers like Boots Ennis and Stanionis will be affected by this if ever the loser will activate the rematch clause within the 30 days limit because that will mean that they will have to wait again and probably have another fight to keep them warm to keep their rhythm intact.

Yes, the mandatory can't be exercise right away unless those body really impose their rule, but we all doubt that it can happen. We've seen a lot of this body giving special treatment to high profile fighters.

But it's good to see Boots Ennis winning this weekends and maybe him Stanionis can make it this year for Stanionis belt.

And then the winner will have to wait for the Spence and Crawford or at least after their rematch.

No need to wait for these bodies to impose something especially if it is about Crawford and Spence, mainly the latter. It wouldn't be the first time as well if they will give another special treatment because they were able to retain these belts for years now without fighting a mandatory that was not chosen by their camp.

A Stanionis-Ennis fight is an interesting one but I doubt that they will fight and waste their situation right now because they are both on the same line waiting for their turn as they are after a different belt.

But a Stanionis-Ennis fight will solidify their position, Stanionis is already a champion, the WBA belt champion, but this body needs just to have one champion as they also declare Spence their champion as well.

So I don't think it will just be a waste for their situation, going to be a win-win for either of the two. For Ennis, if he won then he will have a good ranking, and for Stanionis, he could really be the next in line for at least the WBA belt held by Spence.
1126  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is ready for $40k on: July 13, 2023, 08:49:17 PM
I believe the price of $ 40k will be reached soon, just like when the price is below $ 20k I was very optimistic that before April the price would reach $ 30k so I bought bitcoin even for a small amount, and I think the price of $ 40k will be before September.

Good for you if you have bought it when the price is below $20,000 and then continue to accumulate as the price slowly increases since January. And then we April, it went sideways, for at least 2 months before we have a break out run this July.

So even if we see that the price is trading sideways again after a burst to $31,000, still this is a perfect time to continue to accumulate and then see how it goes in the future. As for $40,000, it's just a thousands of dollars separating the current price to that so it's achievable. Just a matter of time that we will hit that barrier again.
1127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP - yes or no? on: July 13, 2023, 08:37:44 PM
It has been 931 days since SEC since filed its lawsuit against Ripple. XRP supporters have been contacting the presiding judge Analisa Torres in this case.

Pro XRP lawyers Bill Morgan and John E. Deaton have said any one who does this will feel wrath of Ripple community. I think we just want to hear a verdict for the case.

https://cryptonews.net/news/legal/21292268/

I may not like XRP's centralization, but I believe this lawsuit is important to help determine crypto's stance against the regulatory agency. Ripple (the company behind XRP) must win it for the SEC to stop classfying most cryptocurrencies as securities. Only then, the industry will flourish within the United States.

I bet XRP will rise to the moon after such a victory. Not only it will be a huge win for the cryptocurrency, but also for crypto exchanges such as Coinbase and Binance. There's huge institutional interest into crypto assets, so all odds are in XRP's favor to win big time. Who knows how much XRP will be worth after all of this is over?  Smiley

You bet you are, as XRP is up 25% by now as they won a landmark case against SEC

Quote
July 13 (Reuters) - Ripple Labs Inc did not violate federal securities law by selling its XRP token on public exchanges, a U.S. judge ruled on Thursday, delivering a landmark legal victory for the cryptocurrency industry that sent the value of XRP soaring.

XRP was up 25% after the ruling, according to Refinitiv Eikon data.

The ruling by U.S. District Judge Analisa Torres was the first win for a cryptocurrency company in a case brought by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

https://www.reuters.com/legal/us-judge-says-sec-lawsuit-vs-ripple-labs-can-proceed-trial-some-claims-2023-07-13/

So for those who have been holding XRP then good for you guys, Currently I check the price and it's up by 70% by now after the release of the news.

Now price at $0.8171. And just imagine if this news comes out in the bull run.
1128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: July 13, 2023, 12:03:45 AM

But yeah...  I'm rooting for Ngannou to win and get the upset.  Lol.  I think that would for sure be the most entertaining result even for boxing fans.  Everybody loves an underdog.

Obviously, Fury is the heavy favorite since this is boxing, Ngannou cannot use his grappling experience, but we cannot disregard Ngannou's punching power and Fury cannot take it easy I have seen how Ngannou knocks out his opponents with one punch I don't rule out the possibility, things in the heavyweight will become very different if Ngannou knocks out Fury, it's not something we expect but the possibility will be there, Ngannou's entry in the boxing world depends on this fight if he has a good showing he can turn from MMA to boxing, as there's a lot of money to be made in boxing than on MMA.

Yes, but I don't think that Fury will choose Ngannou if he knows that he can lose this fight. So he will have to used his experience here and we all know how technical Fury here as far as his defense. And I don't think that Ngannou has faster hands than Fury.

And it's boxing so Fury will have all the advantage.

But for those who goes for the underdog, then go for it, if this happens then it's going to be entertaining as what Fury is going to say after the fight.

1130  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight (july15,2023 on: July 12, 2023, 11:16:07 PM
^ And I thought that the fight is going to be cancelled.

But if they are going to be included in the Spence vs. Crawford then the better for Nonito itself. For sure everyone is excited to see this fight in the undercard for the one of the most anticipated fight this year. I might chance my stance on the numbers, it might reach near 1 million because of this inclusion in the line up. So still, Donaire is the favorite although Santiago is chirping away some odds on his favor too.
1131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beterbiev Vs Smith AUG 19 2023 SATURDAY IBF / WBC / WBO LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT Title on: July 10, 2023, 02:51:55 PM
I wonder why there are no people talking about this fight these days, I think maybe because Beterbiev is not fighting against some great contender available in their weight division and Smith is just some other boxer that he will gonna beat easily in their upcoming fight. Nevertheless, this is another good warm-up fight for Beterbiev because after this, he might get the best fight he really wanted all these years and we know that he is not gonna be coming for the title, he just wanted to beat everyone out there that are at the top of their weight division.

Maybe, but you have to understand that there are a lot of fight this coming July, so fans are more interested on,

Spence vs Crawford, Inoue vs Fulton, and Donaire vs Santiago.

And what we want to see in this weight division is a unification fight between Beterbiev and Bivol, but not going to happen because of boxing politics as we all know of. And this could be just another get busy fight for Beterbiev, he needs to be active as he is not getting any younger.
1132  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best crypto savings on: July 10, 2023, 02:24:20 PM
Are you really against altcoins or you wrote this to impress readers?

Because in Bitcointalk, altcoins are not welcome so you are trying to impress that you don't like altcoins. Altcoins are not all good but most of them are scam projects but if I have to discuss a fact that most of cryptocurrency investors and traders use their money for altcoins more than for Bitcoin.

They will think and say like Bitcoin is too expensive, price is too high already, I have to find some altcoins to invest.

In any case, maybe he just want to be a bitcoin maximalist that's why he dump his altcoins in favor of our dear BTC.

To be fair though, we have our altcoin boards, so it is welcome here. What we don't like is the way majority of them are being used, as a pump and dump. And with that, many noobs lost their money and so it is frown upon my most senior members here.

But there are some solid coins in the top 10 that are good as a long term investments like Bitcoin. It could be Ethereum, BNB, ADA and others, in my opinion.
1133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: July 10, 2023, 01:45:28 PM
^^ Yes, saw this posts, not sure if the words comes directly from Donaire's mouth, but in any case, yes, I think I would say that 90% of the current 118 lbs, Donaire can beat them, not name Naoya Inoue.

So just a couple more days, between the two, and hopefully we will see some hype in the media as well as this is very important fight because WBC will have a new bantamweight champion in the process.
1134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Oscar Valdez vs Emmanuel Navarette - Aug 12 on: July 10, 2023, 01:03:26 PM
This is a really exciting matchup. These fighters styles are made for each other. Several years ago some people were saying that Valdez vs. Berchelt would be fight of the year but it did not live up to the hype. This time I believe it will be different because Navarrete can take a punch very well. Valdez doesn't have the best resistance but he will always keep coming forward and throwing punches even when he has been hurt. It is hard for me to predict a winner because they are evenly matched. Navarrete has less wear and tear but Valdez has greater experience. I think it will be a close fight and we might possibly see a rematch and a trilogy.

It's a taylor made fight for each other and that's why majority thinks that this is going to be a very exciting and it's going to be a war. Navarette can take a punch but we all know that Wilson put him down, so the aura of his chin is broken. As compare to Valdez who has a great fight against Berchelt and he shows his technical skills in there. That is a big possibility that there will be a rematch or trilogy and could be book just like the other great rivalry in Mexican boxer like MAB against Erik Morales or maybe Manny against JMM.
1135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Anthony Joshua vs Dillian Whyte II on: July 10, 2023, 12:29:24 PM
Joshua has a big burden in his head and that is

Eddie Hearn admits Anthony Joshua will lose proposed mega-fight with Deontay Wilder - and a £60MILLION payday - if he fails to beat Dillian Whyte next month

If we all remember Joshua in his first fight in the US should have fought Baby Miller until a huge issue with Miller came out so Hearns got Andy Ruiz as the replacement and the rest is history, he not only lose all his titles to Ruiz but he loses a mega fight with the then WBC champion Wilder, and hopefully history will not repeat here, Dillian last fight is against Fury, he did announce that was his last fight, but this is a fight that hard to decline he could be the spoiler and could eventually the one fighting Wilder.

There was a story that promoters don't want him to fight Whyte and they all want to just go straight to the Wilder fight but Joshua wants to have a fight with Whyte before going against Wilder, this is a very risky fight for Joshua and this could end his career.

I wouldn't say it's going to be a burden though, if anything here, it should motivate him to finished and win the fight against Whyte so that him and Wilder can face each other this December or maybe early next year for one of the biggest purse, so big paycheck for both of them.

He should learn from his past mistakes, although he has been a very different boxer after he lost to Ruiz in the first fight that you mentioned. It's all going to be psychological for Joshua against Whyte. Maybe what he can think of is that he already beat Dillian the first time so he can do it again and not underestimating because if could derail him fight against Wilder.

Its a motivation but more of a burden, I have seen boxers taking what seems to be a fight preparation for a much bigger paycheck only to lose decisively or by upsets like Tyson to Douglas and Tommy Morisson to Michael Bent both Tyson and Morisson got knocked out for what experts expect should be an easy fight for these two heavy favorites.

Of course Joshua is the favorite here but Whyte could be a serious spoiler, what he has got to lose, against a guy who could potentially lose everything, I'm sure Joshua is thinking of those scenarios and he's hoping to win decisively and I'm sure Wilder is also hoping, both Wilder and Joshua want and need each other for a huge comeback of their respective career.

As far as the odds goes, it seems that Joshua is a huge favorite here, ML 1.15 Whyte at 4.70. And then the Over/Under round is 9.5.

So great odds so far specially the Over/Under. However, if we are talking about upsets, then it's possible if Joshua is going to underestimate Whyte or not training hard and not taking his opponent seriously as in the case of Tyson vs Douglas. Perhaps it was the same case with Morrison against Michael Bentt, sad thing is that Morrison was winning the fight until he was hit with a right, it could be just a lucky shot, but Bentt win the fight in 2 rounds. So Joshua here shouldn't overlook Whyte and not get ahead of his supposedly fight with Wilder next.
1136  Economy / Speculation / Re: Just how bad is the bear demand right now on: July 09, 2023, 09:13:32 PM
Just looking back though, the OP created this thread at the beginning of the year. Of course last November 2022 we have the lowest low, the bottom price at $15,500. So maybe the OP is just ranting or that's what the prevalent sentiments that time. Although at the end of January we have a upswing of like 40%++ so that is huge already that time.

But we continue, hard and grind and very painful and slow uptrend in the next six months or so. But after that look at where we at today, we've double what's the bottom price of this bear market. And we can say that the bear market is not that bad after all as it has given us time to accumulate and at the same time the experience specially for newbies could be eye opening. But at least with just another six months or more, we are going to survived it as we have the block halving and then the eventual bull run. So for everyone? just hang on tight.
1137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: July 09, 2023, 09:01:42 PM
However, if you are just looking for the underdog bet, regardless on who will it be or what fight it is then Santiago ML will be enough, just saying.
That's suicidal thinking. Knowing Donaire, I'm sure he still has a lot to offer and can dominate the division. Santiago may be younger, but he doesn't possess the skills and experience that Donaire has. If we're just after attractive odds, we should consider going for a KO per round range bet, as most of the time the odds are higher than +200.

I know, I'm just saying though, maybe there could be fans of Alejandro that is willing to take the rest and very happy to see that their boy is the underdog. So I don't think that they will think it as a suicide bet.

Of course, as fans of Donaire on the other hand, we will think that there is no value in betting with Alejandro as we think that Donaire can still pull the trigger and make this fight exciting or dominate it and not let the fight goes to the hands of the judges to score it. Already fight week so for sure majority of us will spare some of our BTC in this fight.

No doubt about that because if we are on their shoes and Nonito Donaire is on the underdog corner, I'd bet that many of us here who are supporting him will be glad that he is listed that way because that will mean that Donaire's odds are juicy and not the other way around. In this fight, it's the opposite though but that is fine by me as I'm not really inclined to bet on ML if my boxer is on the favorite side.

Fair point, because there are really fans that is going to support their fighters no matter what. When Nonito was the underdog against Inoue in the second fight, we didn't hesitate to pull the trigger and beat for him. For sure majority of us are disappointed with the results, but we have to accept it.

And then we are glad to see him fighting again and have a good chance to become a champion as he is the favorite in this fight. So will gladly pull the trigger and will be looking for more juicier odds for a KO win or per round range, or any odds that we think have value in return.
1138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: July 09, 2023, 08:45:07 PM
I thought this fight wouldn't happen because there's no hype about this match in my social medias, even though this is an unification fight. The hype of Tank vs Garcia is way more higher than Crawford vs Spence.

This will happen. There isn't much hype on social media because both fighters are focused on their training, and they aren't trash-talking each other like Garcia does. This kind of fight is what we've been waiting for—a unification bout where it's hard to predict the winner since their skills are almost 50-50.

Don't worry, once the fight begins, all eyes will be focused on it. With both boxers being KO artists, one punch could end the fight.

Right, Tank vs Garcia is very different though, I mean the hype is really huge and PPV reaches more than 1 million. And I remember that we have discussed speculations about how big this fight it in terms of PPV and if I remember it correctly, we did somewhat agree that the numbers could be around 300,000-500,000 buys. But we will see.

It's getting closer, I can sense on some boxing forums that the hype is building already.

I also read some comments of former opponents of this two boxers, like Porter and they have given their own opinions about this fight.

That is quite normal and expected when it comes to big fights like this, famous boxers and analyst will always try and give their own predictions about the outcome of the fight but none of that will matter as even to themselves they cannot predict exactly what will happen to their own fight. So, it all boils down on Crawford and Spence on how will they figure this fight.

Anyway:
Quote
The WBA has made ‘regular’ 147-lb champion Eimantas Stanionis mandatory for the winner of the Errol Spence Jr vs. Terence Crawford fight on July 29th.
https://www.boxingnews24.com/2023/07/wba-makes-eimantas-stanionis-mandatory-for-spence-vs-crawford-winner-on-july-29th/

Yes, I think boxers too are fans of other fighters or at least they want to see what will be the outcome of this fight. For instance Porter Jr fought both of this fighters and Kell Brook. So their statement and comments might be valuable because they've experience it first hand, but as the saying goes, style makes fight so it could be different, but at least you can weigh in what this two former boxers have to say.

As far as Eimantas Stanionis he has been waiting for this fight for years, he had a scheduled fight last night but was cancelled because Vergil Ortiz is deems unfit to fight. So I doubt that he will go directly to the winner of Spence vs Crawford, he needs a tune up fight first.
1139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: July 09, 2023, 08:34:47 PM
By the way guys, be sure to lock in your bets while we still have more time as the lines might not be the same anymore inside the 48 hours span. Good luck!

Thanks for the reminder, I haven't lock in my bet, and when I check it though, almost all options are now open.

I might look for "Will the fight is going to distance", as the odds are still very attractive to me. Yes at 2.03 and No at 1.70.

I haven't locked my bet in this fight as well unlike the Crawford vs Spence where I already locked in the 1.77 odds because I thought the WBO champion will keep on gaining favor.Cheesy But thanks for the reminder because I realized I am yet to bet on the Donaire-Santiago bout which happens already next week.

I am also looking at the odds if the fight goes the distance or not though I might also take an Inoue ML at 1.30 something. I have confidence the Inoue will win even when this fight goes to the hands of the judges. But of course, I want to see KOs and TKOs. Inoue is yet to fight in this new division and we'll see if he is capable of hurting the top dogs, especially Fulton who already proved his big heart and tough chin after surviving the Figueroa unification bout where he won in a very close debatable decision. Fulton was hurt several times by Figueroa but was able to hold on and was never down once.

1140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is actually a Bitcoin investor on: July 09, 2023, 08:23:37 PM
When someone has a particular wallet which he spends Bitcoins from can he be considered a Bitcoin investor?
Or does the term investor refer only to those who hodl Bitcoin?

Anyone that can profit can be considered as a Bitcoin investor. So if you hold it in your wallet for to long that you can make a profit or there is what we call return of investment.

If you spend your bitcoin then you used it as what is was designed by Satoshi in the beginning, as a payment scheme.
