1142  Other / Politics & Society / [VOTE] UK General Election 2015 on: April 28, 2015, 08:18:23 PM
I'm curious how Bitcoin users are voting in the UK General Election - added options for those who are not in the UK as well.

The results are only shown after voting and it's running for 7 days. You can state your reasons below if you want to.

Bitcoin Shop Signs Letter of Intent to Merge With Spondoolies-Tech

Looks like they are planning to be more than just a Bitcoin Shop.

I can't be bothered to think about it.
1145  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cryptostocks - Are they Still Relevant? on: April 27, 2015, 09:08:42 PM
Overstock is trying to do something in this section. I guess those cryptostocks could be used to get a small business started - however I'm pretty sure you'll have to comply with the same rules as a company that gets listed on OTC Markets with the benefit of OTC Markets having a good reputation. Some companies are listed on multiple exchanges so it might be possible to get listed on a traditional exchange AND issuing a cryptostock too.

1146  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-04-27] Fortune: Exclusive: Bitcoin company Circle raising new cash on: April 27, 2015, 08:45:00 PM
Im interested in seeing what future services they plan to offer.  They do need to do more then a simple buy and selling  of bitcoin to compete with coinbase and gemini.

Maybe. A simple service to buy and sell bitcoins can be useful too. Coinbase did that correctly, because they are still offering a simple UI only for buying or selling.

Offering short-selling is nice for people who want to trade Bitcoin, but confusing for most people who just want to buy it and use it.

1150  Economy / Economics / Re: Money is an imaginary concept, but humanity is enslaved by it on: April 26, 2015, 03:47:10 PM
Humanity decided to live by the rules of capitalism.

Who would've made inventions like the internet or Bitcoin if we lived like animals?
1151  Local / Projektentwicklung / Re: Ist eine "stabile" Krypto-Währung möglich? on: April 26, 2015, 01:20:09 PM

1152  Economy / Speculation / Re: Shorts on Bitfinex at a all time high! on: April 26, 2015, 12:41:23 PM
I'm not using Bitfinex myself but just looked at their charts. Can you go short on LTCBTC or LTCUSD or both?
1153  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Paypal chargeback, for the third time on: April 25, 2015, 03:50:08 PM
Yes, Normally just confirmation (sending from) of my registered e-mail address with PP is enough.

But you're only dealing with small amounts, right?
1154  Economy / Auctions / Re: Reverse Auction for FullMember (buy account) on: April 25, 2015, 03:22:56 PM
Based on other account sales I guess the best you will get for 0.08 BTC is a Jr. Member  (Sr. Member if you're lucky)
1155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What If Online Dating Sites Start To Use Bitcoin on: April 25, 2015, 03:14:00 PM
Wait what? OKCupid and Badoo are already accepting Bitcoin  (I think it's only available in a few countries on Badoo) .
1156  Economy / Speculation / Re: You are not a real Bitcoiner if you don't buy now. Shame on you! on: April 25, 2015, 03:02:27 PM
I can't buy right now. You need money to buy it, something not everyone has.

Get money or ask someone to issue money for you if you have friends in a central bank.
1157  Economy / Goods / Re: What do you think buying Rolex by Bitcoin on: April 25, 2015, 07:01:57 AM
On quick observation, I'd think the price difference was due to the ring of diamonds.  Depends on how much bling you're looking for!   Grin

Ah yep, that could be the reason. I just compared the model number (18238 vs. 18038)
1158  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can I trust BTC exchanges? on: April 25, 2015, 06:40:08 AM
Keeping your funds on well-known Bitcoin services with known owners should work.

Xapo and Coinbase do have a Vault option and they are insured like banks.
1159  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How would you introduce Bitcoin to your friends and family? on: April 25, 2015, 05:33:57 AM
I told my family about Bitcoin a long time ago, but I'm not putting any pressure on them. I'm keeping them updated on Bitcoin events and what I'm doing with it tho.

I'm not giving away coins for free, because they are valuable to me and I think they'd just have no idea what to do with them.

I once ordered pizza with Bitcoin when I visited my brother  - especially his girlfriend was very impressed.

Awesome. I will visit them when I'm in Vienna again (probably in May)

I didn't expect that. It's essentially government-funded Bitcoin use:
