1201  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin Mining using Green Energy on: July 29, 2023, 11:11:26 PM
Anyway, good luck Smiley
1202  Other / Meta / Re: how do mod get selected? do they get paid? on: July 29, 2023, 10:00:54 AM
As far as i remember[1] staffs/mods get selected through their number of good reports, knowledge, of course, how you understand the forum's rules and policies, but that was before. I don't know now and if rank matter, maybe trust as well.

For the payment, i remember[2] some mods mentioned it that it depends on the number of handled report, and some stuff. Here's the financial details[3] of this forum way back 2018.
Well, let me find those threads.

Edit: added url source.

1203  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: walletgeneratordotnet scam Paper wallet generation scam on: July 28, 2023, 11:53:55 PM
This is true, but it is not the main reason, the search engines show the sites that were created in the past first*, and since the site was created on March 3, 2014, it will definitely be first in the search engines, even if it is scam.
This is not always the case. There are many factors that affect to make a site in the first place/rank in the search engine page. The scam site is well written with lots of keywords on it, especially the FAQ that always give users information which make google thinks that its a well quality page, back links, plus its domain age.

I report it on namecheap as well as what i mentioned above, i hope people will mass report it too.

You can try reporting the website to "Google safe browsing": https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/
Maybe they will remove it from their search results if many people report it.
It's not a phishing site, so google wont prioritize to remove it. Well, i hope so, but its better to report it on their registrar — namecheap.
1204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How was your first experience with gambling? on: July 28, 2023, 11:43:36 PM
Everything is good, and pretty exciting, I always win actually until i become greedy and lost my money that time lmao. This is my online  (crypto) gambling experience btw. There are no kyc that time games are just dice, slots, plinko, etc.
1205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'll always tell people about bitcoin on: July 28, 2023, 11:30:24 PM
As for me I'll always introduce bitcoin to people because it is money, people needs money for better life.  It is my duty to tell about bitcoin to people and it is their decision to invest in it.
This is me when someone asks about bitcoin, but i never and will never initiate to tell people about bitcoin especially in investment because i don't want to be blamed when their investments failed. They will just ask what coins are your holding now or i'll just ask a question something did you buy xx coin? It did great just past few weeks. But i will never tell them what coins they should buy when to sell/buy for the same reasons.
1206  Other / Meta / Re: Are these flaws of SMF forum software? on: July 28, 2023, 03:41:32 AM
I still see posts of my ignored users if
  • Someone quoted posts of the ignored user.
  • I visit a post history page of the ignored user.
Check this thread[1] answers its the latest open discussion as this were discussed so many times.

I still see avatars and signatures of forum members, any member, if I visit that user profile page. My avatar is disabled in topics, posts but it still shows at top left corner.
It's self-explanatory, it only works in topic threads since its the main purpose of the forum — to discuss. Don't visit user profiles then.

Could it be done with a SMF patch?
As this were discussed too many times this suggestions were suggested so many times as well. Actually, this current SMF version cannot be upgraded to the latest one because this forum software is customized for the forum's needs, like trust feedback, merits, etc.
But most of this suggestions (i guess) can be implemented on the forum software that is under development for many years now.

1207  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: walletgeneratordotnet scam Paper wallet generation scam on: July 27, 2023, 11:55:30 PM
To generate a paper wallet, use HD wallet.
Hoe about to users who doesnt have any HD wallets? Just use trusted open source wallet generator and generate wallet address in offline device.

How can a scam site like this be taken down?
Report it on its hosting i checked i uses namecheap. Go submit a ticket -> abuse report -> prohibited/illegal content

I just report the site and referenced the reddits thread and its the news articles.
1208  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Idmining.com is hellish scammer on: July 27, 2023, 11:17:09 PM

They asked to fill in matrices with tokens flow to OKX. It is a little bit complicated to fill this in.

Check your wallet to see the transaction id. Then fill the form as what it is, the input address(is your address), output address (is the scammer's address)

Now since the scammer use the OKX address directly then that's what you will input there.
1209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Mining is friendly to the Environment says MIT on: July 27, 2023, 05:27:19 PM
And yet we will still hear some government anywhere in the globe that "bitcoin mining is killing our earth so we need to stop it", or any "green movement" who are against bitcoin mining despite of how MIT research result is.
1210  Economy / Services / Re: Utopia P2P Ecosystem 💎 | Review Campaign 🔎| Participate Now! | Get paid in BTC on: July 27, 2023, 03:38:15 PM
Here's my Utopia software review

Downloading and Installation
Just like what I am used to when downloading and installing, scanning using my AV is a must. So far nothing severe is detected. Installing the desktop app is pretty straightforward, just a normal desktop installation, although I used a different folder than the default Windows installation folder.

Design and UX
I expect it to be looked more like a modern design desktop app since we are in a modern era uhmm, like with large icons, images, fonts, shadows, and gradient colors, but sadly it’s not. I expect it like “Exodus wallet”-like actually lol. But I guess it’s fine the app’s look is great with dark and light themes, of course, I always choose the dark theme and lastly, it’s straightforward and the UX is good, everything is clear.
Suggestion:
Dashboard - minimize the email and put the CRP balance on it even just a small summary.

Idyll Browser
I don’t know if it's just me but it doesn’t work and when you try to search - typing anything on the url bar, it will eventually add “http://” like you’re typing a website url which is not, of course it will always show an error. There’s no info about the browser also, even in the “http://u.is/utopia-help” page.
But if you will go on “http://idyll/” (i cant remember how get there lol) you can see the “Add Website” button which i think Utopia user needs to input any sites first before it will be shown on the browser. If it’s always the case the browser will be emptied and nothing will show when searching so I guess the team should improve it if its main purpose is to be an alternative to those existing ones. Also, it’s slow.

uMail
It will be great if you can use it to users outside of the platform, since there is already a chat feature and no need to email users if you can just ping them using the chat.

uWallet
Swap - swapping to UUSD and vice versa is so easy and simple.
uVoucher -  so simple and fast as well, but why you can claim your own voucher too? What’s the reason behind creating it then claim it by yourself. It should only be claimed bu other users.
Airdrop - I just checked it earlier after i received 2 airdrop amounting 0.001 CRP too small but it’s okay, you will only receive it if you’re online on the time they airdrop
Request CRP - is limited only to users who provide their card #s, so you need to ask these details too before you can request some funds lol. I will not give to users who ask since i knew what they are up to lol. But seriously, its much better to generate something like URL for CRP request, after accessing the URL they will redirect to the uWallet for them to send without providing their address and card #s

Staking
Since im a user since last year i’ve been receiving stake rewards every first date of the month because i never used my balance before for anything lol. And ye it’s pretty nice since there is no minimum amount (I guess) when you be able to get the monthly reward.

Summary
The app looks like it’s just limited to Utopia’s thing but it’s not, it has different stuff like games. The uMaps is interesting as well, it locates public chat channels although some are inactive like month already. The global chat seems so active since there are many online but no one replies, but who knows they are just busy lol due to different timezone maybe. Also, What i observed when scrolling with mouse the chat it always overlaps the content unless you use the scroll on the right side of the chat, it should be fixed for smooth scrolling
My whole experience is good, there are only a few that needs to improve, active chats is an indicator of having a pretty active community too.

1211  Economy / Reputation / Re: 10 Years on: July 26, 2023, 11:03:04 PM
Congrats! Only few legendary bitcoin OGs can do that. What an achievement perhaps. Coz others were already passed away, getting tired, inactive, tried to lie low, yet you are here almost everyday active knowing you are an active mod and a signature campaign participant. I hope we are still here in another decade, long live bitcointalk. 🥳
1212  Other / Meta / Re: can we see quoted post of ignored user? on: July 26, 2023, 01:26:24 PM
can we see the the reply of ignored user, if the reply of ignored user is quoted my non ignored user?
Yes, although you may think that the ignore feature is useless if you can see that it's because of this reason...

Someone who quotes your ignored user might have an otherwise useful post. It would be nice to have the quote of the ignored user to be collapsed (and while we're at it, collapse/reduce wall-quotes and large images too) but hiding the whole post would be too harsh IMO.
it's one of the many reasons actually.
1213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: July 25, 2023, 02:01:50 PM
Congratulations to Inoue and to all who bets for a KO Grin. Just like my very first comment to Fulton he doesn't have a chance (if he won't train much harder) since he doesn't have a KO punch. I will congratulate him if he lasts on round 12 for decision regardless if he win or not. But just like i predict it will be a KO for Inoue. Unifying all the belts in Super bantamweight might be next and will be a huge step if he do it right after this fight or maybe a defending title match next.
1214  Other / Meta / Re: how to delete thread on: July 25, 2023, 11:10:25 AM
You can't, unless someone report it then mods do the work. You can just move it to archive board and delete the content including the title. If there are replies already, well, you can't do about that.
1215  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ⚠️ Freewallet: the scam project that threatens thousands of customers on: July 25, 2023, 03:21:34 AM
The reason why it's ranking on the first page is that the domain is an old one Google tends to respect old domains which is very bad many more will be victimized if this scam wallet remains on the top search.
It's one of the stuffs google uses but talking like it shows only because its an old domain is a wrong info, besides there are lots of old site that doesn't show in first page. It depends on different stuffs such as keywords, browser activity, recent searches, and many more. Reporting it on google won't help either coz there's no violation of their domain.
Much better is to publish articles or reviews regarding their shitty service, and let the people share those info so they will be avoided in the future.
1216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: July 24, 2023, 02:05:47 PM
If anyone of you was not aware, the Japanese are known in using psychological warfare before the fight to cause more anxiety to an opponent who is already suffering from anxiety because the fight. They used this against Nonito Donaire in his rematch vs. Inoue. It was rumored that random people would knock on Nonito's door every hour who are pretending to be fans to prevent him from sleeping. There were also other issues like not allowing Nonito's gloves to be used and other little problems like no chairs, no water available in his locker room.

However, it appears Fulton's team is very smart. They are using the Japanese tricks against Inoue's team so Fulton can rest and concentrate only on the fight hehehe.
Really? I just heard this kind of strategy or i say scheme. Haha.

Well, let's see tomorrow. If Fulton have the KO power he can win, even just in decision. But i still doubt that, Inoue still have his killer liver shot, that's why i bet Inoue for 1.95 Odds via KO. Let's see how it will go Grin
1217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Irresponsible behavior at the Las Vegas Casino on: July 24, 2023, 01:32:18 AM
The Las Vegas Casino allows alcoholic drinks though? Heck I reckon most casinos allow those kinds of beverages, they'd lose quite a bit of customer count if they removed it.
Drinking alcohol doesn't mean you are already drunk. Yes, casinos are allowed to serve alcoholic drinks but they are prohibited to serve alcoholic drinks to already intoxicated persons, or drunk at least in the US. That's why Las Vegas casino always broke these alcoholic regulations. Now that it was published, probably they will get penalized for it.
1218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Irresponsible behavior at the Las Vegas Casino on: July 23, 2023, 11:44:14 PM
I thought drunks or getting drunk are not allowed in casinos, worst he was drugged. That man will probably get lots of case and complains, or even penalties from the casino.

People should be more responsible when going such place where there is strict policy and security.
1219  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning] Fake Ripple #Xrp airdrop website is available online. on: July 23, 2023, 10:50:45 PM
Since XRP trending back in the crypto market, XRP fake giveaway scammers are back in business. And now because of Twitter's paid blue badge, it is becoming difficult to identify who is a scammer and who is a real user. Currently, most of the Twitter accounts that are promoting various fake/phishing websites are blue badge accounts, due to which newbies are now getting more confused and victims of scams. A lot of fake websites will come up now using Xrp name, so everyone should be careful not to fall into the trap of scammers.
Actually the main org or account has yellowish badge in twitter now, not blue, only subscriptions are those in blue badge. Or you can just check/click the badge if what's their status of having it.
And yes, outdated/no knowledge newbies are prone to this shitty giveaways just like as this

https://twitter.com/xrprlpple/status/1683210149404483586

So, if you encounter such twitter account or tweets, directly just report the account.
1220  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Idmining.com is hellish scammer on: July 23, 2023, 10:43:18 PM
I guess it shouldn't come as a surprise they have different exchange accounts on their hands. See how the BTC's were consolidated/sent to different exchanges:
....
With these addresses they just use these exchanges' address directly to their platform and the connections between these scam platform and these exchanges like OKX is getting lower.

It would be better if you OP will directly report these to those exchanges, provide screenshots proving they are scammers like the screenshots of asking you another deposit just to withdraw your funds, screenshots of withdrawal page, the deposit address, your transactions using those exchanges.
They might not give you a refund at least the exchanges block their accounts and funds there.
