Hello bitcoin sages,
Could you please tell me: Is there a way to store bitcoin on a laptop/ usb drive / mobile without needing a lot of HDD / SD card space ?
I need a wallet / solution file that would not take up space, yet be accessible at (a fairly) short notice
Much love
Then you should avoid BitcoinQT (core wallet) and try MultiBit (multibit.org). It takes only a few seconds to sync and use.

Hi all,
Are there any good bitcoin/Crypto currency podcasts (that are still updateed) that anyone knows of? I work 10/12 hours a day and like to have something to listen to to pass some of the time.
Thanks
See here: http://letstalkbitcoin.com/blog/category/ltb-network-showsThere are plenty of podcasts, all crypto-related and they're all top quality.

Apologies if this has been asked - I am new to bitcoin and I have been having great fun earning tiny amounts of bitcoins! However I have been doing it for a few days and I have about 1/3 of a coin now - however I am unclear when microwallet will transfer the balance to my web based wallet - Do I have to stop earn coins for a number of days for them to do the transfer or will it just happen on a certain day???
Many thanks for any help here
I think you got the wrong calculation somewhere. Microwallet would pay you way before your balance reaches 0.3 BTC (1/3 of a coin as you said). But it sounds not plausible to have gained 0.3 BTC from faucets - it is not a 'tiny' amount.

is coinbase.com is good site i have heard that site is not working properly...? is there any other site we can get good wallet without any problems......?
If you're strictly talking about online wallets, then blockchain.info is a good choice where you have control over your private keys. (They had some security issues recently which exposed some private keys, but it has apparently been fixed now). Otherwise I would strongly recommend getting a desktop wallet like MultiBit, which is easy to use and there's no fear of losing your coins to a website hack or fraud.

I wonder why people bother making an account here and posting for help when they don't even care to login again and respond to their own thread?

For crying out loud, it's already been established that it's a mute button. Don't you read earlier posts?
So... what does this button do, after all?

So, 31st Dec is here and I'm looking at the poll results now. Apparently, 12.9% people reported it correctly, predicting BTC price at $100+ levels but below $500. Majority of the people (18.4%) said the price would cross $10,000 !! I wish it was true

RESUME / D910
Our planet will soon complete one more circle around the Sun. Traditionally, it is the time we recapped on the past year events.
Cryptocurrencies have grown up in the past year. They no longer should be considered as toys for programmers or the triumph of pure mathematics.
Next year they will enter the large world, become known to the masses and serve their true purpose. This is the area of the nearest development.
That is what we were bracing ourselves for during this autumn and winter. Early next year we'll showcase a new convenient interface that will make Bytecoin very simple to use in the daily life.
We hope that the past year had been as productive for you as it had been for us and wish you an even more successful next year. Thank you for your support. See you in 2015.
Bytecoin Team http://bytecoin.org/blog#12-30-14these are great news What news? I see no news, just some new year wishes I read on Twitter that new Bytecoin wallet interface is under development and soon to be released early next year?

So I've been mining for about 2-3 months non-stop using 4 antminer U2's and when I first started out I was getting a little over 0.00002000 BTC , now I'm only getting 0.00001300 is there any reason? I'm using a raspberry pi as the controller hub all of my miners are at 2 giga hashes and don't really fluctuate. The only thing I could think of is my pool which is shush pool. Please help!
I used to make 5 bitcoins per minute (no joke!). Now, with the same hardware I couldn't make one bitcoin in a decade. Man, you're just making me go crazy. I wish I had woke up early to Bitcoin mining! How would it feel to have thousands of BTC sitting in a USB drive somewhere in the corner of my desk?

What he really means is that GAW bought them and since GAW adds zero value to crypto in general he wants them delisted.
Maybe I'll request the same for Litecoin......
And for those who're wondering what's wrong with GAW, here's a full thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=875487.0

The number of people mining Bitcoins keeps increasing, but the reward stays at 25 BTC / block. This gives everyone less Bitcoins as time passes. Unless the number of people (total hashrate) decreases, this is bound to happen this way.

I've read that Armory would be the best wallet for offline computers, can you confirm this?
I can't use Bitcoin-Qt on it like I do now since it uses the internet to sync to the network.
If you always want to keep your wallet on offline computer, and also want to send Bitcoins from same wallet, Armory has such feature. You can sign transaction on the offline computer and then complete the process via other online computer. This is good security. But if you just want to HODL (not spend your BTC), this feature is not necessary and any wallet will do (BitcoinCore, MultiBit etc). You just need to run the wallet offline and generate some addresses without connecting to internet.

Is there a max for newbies?
I don't quite understand this one. Your account being a newbie on this forum does not have anything to do with how much you can send with Bitcoin. And also, the Bitcoin transaction does not have any limit in terms of Dollar value. If you have 5 Bitcoins, you can send 5 Bitcoins, no matter how many Dollars they're worth. And there is virtually no limit on a number of Bitcoins you can send in one transaction. The only thing is, the bigger the amount the more fees you should include in the transaction so that it goes through the network quickly.

Thank u for ur answer ajareselde!
Ok i´m using blockchain info, this is an online wallet, i found it nice, maybe i consider trying out some other desktop wallets i do not know yet...
But if i want to cash out the bitcoins in real money do i not to have to identify myself in any way? I mean documents like residencial proof, passport?
localbitcoins.com remains one of the preferred site when it comes to exchange Bitcoins for cash. You can connect to sellers/buyers on this site and decide to meet in real life to transact BTC. Have him transfer Bitcoins in a local cafe and pay cash.

I've been using Bitcoin-Qt for a while now, and I also have a few pocket change in Coinbase.
But now I'm planning to buy a larger amount of bitcoin and put it in cold storage.
Buy and HODL, as they say.
What cold wallet would you recommend and why?
Although there are some hardware wallets available, I have always found paper wallets to be convenient. To be double sure, create a wallet on offline computer, generate some addresses, protect it with password, put it on a USB drive. Then put the paper wallet and USB drive in bank locker. If you're paranoid, buy lockers on multiple locations to keep multiple copies.

My reasons are very simple: Ian (the current and soon ex-owner) is a hard worker and I've had a lot of respect for him from the time coin-swap had first opened up. He's transformed coin-swap from what was at one point a very incredibly simple site, into what it is today. For those unware here is what it used to look like http://web.archive.org/web/20140208041750/https://coin-swap.net/ It wasn't really an "exchange" by standards we would define one as, but it was a place where you could go and put up your coins for trade with other people on the most basic of levels without a trade engine behind it. I've continued to support coin-swap and point people in the direction of the exchange and was more than happy to have Neos on there. As of recent news though, they've been sold to a company, that history has shown as well as customer feedback wouldn't necessarily serve in the best interest of the Neos community. While Neos is still young and the markets might show a lot of resistance and price suppression, we still have a fairly large community of people that are counting on me to look out for the best interest of Neos and that's what I'm doing. I support hard-working, honest, and forthcoming developers and communities. With that being said, I don't feel the future of coin-swap has those important qualities in-store for it. Neos might just be another symbol to many, or even an unheard of project but to me it's everything and the community is everything to me - like an extended family. I look out for my family the best that I can and make decisions based on my better judgement as well as facts. Some may not agree with this, especially those in support of the company taking over coin-swap, but I assure you this was not a thoughtless action. Sincerely, syntaks Seriously syntaks, you needn't give a justification. We know you and we trust your judgement. Even if you hadn't said anything we'd assume this was a well-thought action. Cheers!

Just updating everyone, if you're not following Syntaks on Twitter. Withdraw your NEOS from coin-swap if you're keeping any. Thanks sgk! Any reason for him to request to remove the coin coin-swap? No idea. But I'm sure Syntaks has his reasons. Probably no trading volume or poor support from exchange admins?

any Bank of btc i want to deposti and fix amount i want to get rid of gambling !! and want to save money!
I don't quite understand your intent here. As I gather it, you're not looking for a fixed return on your investment, are you? You're just looking to HODL on your Bitcoins by keeping away your gambling addiction? I would suggest you create a paper wallet, put it in a bank locker and forget about it. right i dont want any fixed return amount juxt want my amount which i,ll give to bank! If that's the case, I don't think there are any trusted service that does this. You can give it to someone you can trust extremely, like your wife or any close relative. If you don't trust anyone, simply create a paper wallet, send your coins to it and put the paper wallet in your bank locker.
