* although it can be ran now as a script, ill be compiling the electrum client for all platforms (win, linux, android and mac)

https://github.com/doged/coinomi-doged-android

should have this android wallet that uses the electrum server compiled soon.. i believe i just finished the source code.  Grin

That's great! Cheesy

So we're planning to roll electrum on all platform simultaneously, or will it be a gradual release one after another?
I'm very interested in Windows and Android!
443  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silk Road Founder Ross Ulbricht Sentenced to Life in Prison on: June 07, 2015, 02:55:26 PM
Frankly I was expecting a harsh sentence. He was caught with his open laptop, signed in to silk road with admin account. They had all the evidence and logs from his laptop to prove anything they wanted.
It was very clear from the beginning that he couldn't get away with it and teh court will try to set an example out of this case to warn other dark web markets.

If he wasn't caught red-handed, then he could have had bigger chance to get out of it.

445  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to send a fake bitcoin transaction ? on: June 07, 2015, 02:20:59 PM
my idea is to create a software that verify automatically transactions without waiting for miners or nodes to do (not confirm the transaction), so i need to send a wrong transaction (every valid transaction should respect 20 rules ...) so my software should say "no it's not valid " ....

That's not how bitcoin works.  The system doesn't trust what you say.  EVERY node on the network, and nearly every wallet verifies EVERY transaction before accepting or propagating it.  So even if your software says that the transaction is "verified", the system won't believe you. Every node that you send the transaction to will immediately see that it is fake and will reject the transaction.  If they receive too many fake transactions from you, they will drop their connection to you and refuse to let you reconnect.
you need to wait about 10min to 1hour for every transaction to be confirmed,so :
my application don't confirm the transaction. just check if it respect the rules of a trasaction. so you don't need to wait 10min to be confirmed.

If you just want to 'validate' the transaction and not 'confirm' it on block chain, do you reallyt need to broadcast it to Bitcoin block chain?
Can't you run a copy of block chain on your local system and try to create a test transaction? I am not an expert on this, I'm just making a wild guess.
446  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: igot.com problems on: June 07, 2015, 01:36:55 PM
If they do not resume their services normally, we should complaint to the respective Australian authorities (Department of Fair Trading, Police, Commonwealth Bank). Check this: http://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/ftw/About_us/Contact_us.page?

I wouldn't wait. there's another thread about their practices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1065373.20 - involve your authorities.

Better sooner than later. This thread and the other thread are full of people being scammed by iGot in various ways and large amount.

I firmly believe if several people complained to Department of Fair Trading, they would get kicked in butt. I don't have an account with them (and I'm glad for it), but if I had one, I wouldn't wait and go ahead with a formal complaint.

448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (not a bitcoin fork) How-To on: June 04, 2015, 03:30:56 PM
It is very simple to use various wallets in the GUI. You only need to go File -> recents wallets and chose the one you want

Thanks, I will try this now. I think this is pretty usable work-aroung until support for multiple wallets is added.
(And I am hoping this would be soon, because that is what I see next on the development road map)
449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Maybe it is a good advice not to store your BTC at OKCoin... on: June 04, 2015, 09:12:11 AM
Not just OK Coin, I have come across articles claiming BTC-e is having issues with US wire transfers. Apparently the shift in US policies is to blame, at least according to BTC-e.
http://www.coindesk.com/btc-e-us-dollar-withdrawals-could-be-delayed-two-weeks/

If you're not actively trading, then it might be a good idea to withdraw your funds & BTC from BTC-e as well, to be safe.

Hello ndnhc,

Is it possible to move from PPP to Fixed campaign?
If so, I would like to move to Fixed campaign after the payout on Wednesday.
451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin's Pump and Dump Scheme Exposed on: June 04, 2015, 06:06:15 AM
The strategy is obvious: Gavin thinks he holds so much sway over Bitcoin that an announcement about a fork will upset enough apple carts that people will lose faith temporarily in Bitcoin, driving the price down; then he buys up huge amounts of BTC at the lower price.

Then he and the other devs work together to fix Bitcoin Core, and forget about the fork.

The price goes back up - maybe WAY UP.

Classic PUMP AND DUMP!

He does not need to go to this extreme to make a few hundred BTC.

He already has ample amount of BTC and this would not be the way for him to get some more. He is already rich and there are much better ways for him to get more rich, including funding/investing in Bitcoin ventures or start one himself.

Stop this FUD or move it to speculation section.

He would not need to get more BTC, but an increase in price per BTC is very good for him.. If he indeed has say 100,000 btc, every dollar in price increase would make his net worth grow by 100k USD. I thiink he has plenty incentive to pump the price.

But going by OP's logic, the price may as well do down instead of going up. So there is a greater chance of losing than winning.

(Price will go higher than current levels when core wallet is 'fixed' is just a pure gamble or speculation).
452  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Maybe it is a good advice not to store your BTC at OKCoin... on: June 04, 2015, 06:00:31 AM
I don't have an account there, but I hope the BTC withdrawls are still working fine.

Because this would be a good time to withdraw all your BTC from the exchange.
I have read fiat wire transfers are sucking ass and you shouldn't wait any longer to get the BTC out, or else you're just waiting to become a victim of OKGOX.
453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BTCtalkcoin [TALK] - Pure POS - Multipool Ready! - AirDrop Has Arrived on: June 04, 2015, 05:48:15 AM
Several coins will be removed from alcurEX exchange on next week if there is no any activity:
Amber, Ascension, BIT16, Droidz, FAIR, GizmoCoin, BigCoin HUGE, NXE, Planet, TALK, Positron.

A lot of other exchanges listed in the OP seem to be de-funct as well.
I browsed Poloniex and BitTrex but the coin is de-listed from them it seems.

http://receivefreesms.com/  Wink

If they don't work, google for "receive free sms online" or something... There are a dozen of these sites

I'm gonna need a number that isnt spammed on

If it is a matter of just receiving a verification code, why does it matter if the number is being spammed or not?

And are you sure if you pay someone for a number, then that number is 'non-spam' number?
457  Other / MultiBit / Re: How to Check Balance of Individual Addresses within Multibit? on: June 04, 2015, 04:35:55 AM
as the posters said earlier, electrum is the best for what you need, but if you really want to, I think you can view individual address balances by just looking up each individual address on blockchain.info under "final balance."

Yes, that's what I am doing right now as a work around.

It works well if you have a handful of addresses but if you have several addresses, it is a pain in the butt to look up all of them individually on block chain.
458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin (not a bitcoin fork) How-To on: June 04, 2015, 04:34:48 AM
I was using the command-line wallet until now. I have just downloaded the GUI wallet, which gave me a new address. Now:

1. How do I transfer my address from command-line wallet to GUI wallet?
2. Does the new wallet even support multiple addresses?
3. If not, what is the solution for me so that I can keep both of my addresses?

1-open your GUI wallet.
Go to file-> open wallet and navigate to your *.keys or *.wallet.
Wait until it syncs.

2-repeat the process for all wallets that you have.

3- Bytecoin devs are top notch, everything works smooth. Wink

That means the new GUI wallet can contain more than one addresses? (The one I import and the one it already gave me both will exist in same wallet?)

Because I was having a look at the development road map and I can see "Multiple Wallet Addresses" as a pending action.

The GUI wallet, can open multiple files *.keys or *.wallet, but not simultaneous.
I think the dev team may have something else in mind when they say "Multiple Wallet Addresses".

That means, until the wallet integrates support for simultaneous multiple addresses, I can
- Either keep running both wallets separately (command-line & GUI)
- Or I can import *.keys in GUI and then manually switch between these two wallet time-to-time

OK, I think that clears it up.

Waiting to see support for multiple addresses within same wallet!
459  Other / MultiBit / Re: Multibit signing bug? on: June 04, 2015, 04:31:39 AM
Indeed it was.

Thanks!

You're welcome.

Label is something only visible to you, inside the wallet. It is a way for the user to remember which address is being used for what.
So you shouldn't be that worried if you mistakenly put a label with any address. No one sees the label on the block chain.
