1381  Economy / Speculation / Re: The bitcoin pump on March 12 on: May 15, 2023, 04:48:30 AM
A member of the royal family in Abu Dhabi is short selling stocks and has begun placing their billions in liquidity in bonds through his investment firm. However, there is good news. It appears that some of their billions might also be invested in the cryptospace. I am quite certain bitcoin will hold much of this in the beginning.

Where is the next support for bitcoin? I speculate it might occur very much similar to the pump on March 12 hehehehe.

An investment firm controlled by a top Abu Dhabi royal has built a short position worth billions of dollars in US stocks, people familiar with the matter said, in a bet that growing fears over a recession will pressure markets.

Royal Group turned more negative on equities at the start of the year and has shifted more of its portfolio into short-term US Treasuries, the people said, asking not to be identified because the matter is private. The firm, chaired by United Arab Emirates National Security Adviser Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is also investing more in commodities and crypto, they said.

It's about time isn't it? They should have invested in billions when the price is like sitting at the bottom last year around $15,500. But hey, they are not late though, we are still far from the bull run that we all expecting and that is supposed to happen after the halving next year.

And definitely this is a big boost to the market, and I think they are going to do in bunch? not just buying one time.

So let's see how it goes, prices is going down as we speak, nonetheless, $25k might be still the biggest support that we have right now.

Agreed, however, I speculate that the royal family from the middle east do not care on the timing of their investments because they have the funds to move their investments and make it appear that they have made the correct timing hehehe.

1382  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 'Attack on Bitcoin’ Claims Circulate as Transaction Fees Climb Higher on: May 14, 2023, 02:37:37 AM
@Darker45. A malicious intention is when someone spends much funds to spam and cause bitcoin's transaction fees to be high and also cause it to be unusable for much of the users who use it as a medium of exchange. It is very much similar to a denial of service attack.

If verified true that it is an attack, it is also very important to ask who is paying for this denial of service attack. Is it a competing project like BSV? Is it the government? Is it both of them working together?
1383  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Big Short movie, BTC edition? on: May 14, 2023, 01:58:27 AM
News update. It appears Tether might be the safest and the most stable of stablecoins hehehe. According to their latest attestation, they are earning yield on their assets which are backed by bonds, precious metals and bitcoin.

Also, there are bitcoin maximalists who have presently become supporters of Tether? There are images of Samsung Mow wearing a shirt with a Tether logo.

Today, Tether Holdings Limited published its assurance opinion for Q1 of 2023 completed by BDO Italia, a top five-ranked global independent public accounting firm. The attestation re-affirms the accuracy of Tether’s Consolidated Reserves Report (CRR), which breaks down the assets held by the group as of March 31, 2023. The CRR provides for the first time, additional categories with the aim of increasing transparency into Tether’s reserves reporting. Physical gold, Overnight Repo, Corporate Bonds and Bitcoin ownership have been reported separately. It reveals an increase in Tether's excess of reserves reaching an all-time high of $2.44B up $1.48B for the first quarter of 2023.

Another excellent quarter for Tether under several aspects: $1.48B of net profit strengthening Tether’s reserves and an increase in the token in circulation of 20% which is a clear indicator of the trust of Tether’s customers which allows Tether to be very optimistic for the future.

Tether closed the first quarter 2023 with $81.8B in consolidated total assets. The majority of its reserves are invested in US Treasury Bills. It has also been working to take steps to reduce its reliance on pure bank deposits as a source of liquidity and instead leverage the Repo market as an additional measure to ensure higher standards of protection for its users by maintaining the required liquidity.

1384  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is the Binance the next to bite the dust or FUD? on: May 13, 2023, 05:12:37 AM
Does this imply that all of the other centralized crypto exchanges have also stopped their operations in Canada?

I reckon they cannot stop small exchanges similar to Tradeogre. If CZ cannot lobby or bribe Canadian regulators, he should buy Tradeogre secretly heheheheh.

Crypto exchange Binance has announced that it would cease operations in Canada, citing the challenging regulatory environment.

“We had high hopes for the rest of the Canadian blockchain industry,” the company said in a Friday tweet. “Unfortunately, new guidance related to stablecoins and investor limits provided to crypto exchanges makes the Canada market no longer tenable for Binance at this time.”

1385  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 'Attack on Bitcoin’ Claims Circulate as Transaction Fees Climb Higher on: May 13, 2023, 04:40:55 AM
@tbct_mt2. I agree on we can brush this off if all of the activity and usage on Ordinals and the trading happening in their marketplace is a natural market occurrence. However, if the speculation that the BSV community and their developers are responsible for spamming bitcoin to make the fees very high are verified true, I reckon this can be considered an attack.

I'm a bit surprised. So if the Bitcoin network has turned into a network for sending poor frog images and worthless jpegs and lewd photos and whatnot but in such a manner that the transactions are natural and not deliberately done to attack Bitcoin, it is perfectly all right?

My point is that it is secondary that what's happening right now may be an attack by the BSV community and developers. There's not even an information which conclusively points at them as the culprit. The primary concern is that the Bitcoin network may end up filled to the brim of transactions that are not monetary in nature but ones which involve mere NFT-like collections.

Would it not concern you that the main philosophy of Bitcoin as a financial technology will be compromised because of these garbage inscriptions? Can you simply brush it off because things happened naturally?

Yes, if everything has happened in a natural and organic way, for me it would be okay.

However, if there were malicious intentions, assuming that the information about the BSV developers and community are verified true, this should not be okay. Will it be okay for you?
1386  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: More Regulation Incoming! on: May 13, 2023, 03:34:22 AM
@zasad@. Centers for cryptocurrencies in other countries. This does not solve the problem of regulatory inclarity for the people who want to invest and use the cryptospace in America.

It also appears that it is not only the businesses that are focused on the cryptospace that want regulatory clarity. The US chamber of commerce has filed a brief questioning the SEC for acting unlawfully vs. Coinbase.

The SEC’s actions are not just harmful policy; they are unlawful; and the consequences of the SEC’s continued delay are severe for that reason too.

The SEC’s unwillingness to announce the rules of the road ex ante, combined with its use of enforcement actions to impose or threaten liability ex post, conflicts with the Due Process Clause and basic principles of administrative law. And the SEC’s continued inaction on Coinbase’s rulemaking petition compounds these violations.

@joniboini. Agreed and always read the terms and conditions of the service. I reckon much of them are there to legally protect the people behind the service instead of protecting their customers from financial loss hehehe.

It might also be a time we should consider other options like DeFi. If all the risk is placed on the shoulders of the user, we should certainly not surrender the custody of our coins.

1389  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BlockFi files for bankruptcy protection. on: May 12, 2023, 02:33:24 AM
News update.

It appears it has become official. A judge has declared that Blockfi depositors have given their legal rights to the ownership of their coins when they sent them under Blockfi's custody. According to this article, $292 million of user deposits are owned by BlockFi.

Withdraw your coins from centralized exchanges and other services and read their terms and conditions.

BlockFi Inc. customers who tried to reclaim nearly $300 million in crypto after the company froze transfers last year don’t have a right to the digital assets, a judge ruled, handing potential losses to investors who held interest-bearing accounts.

US Bankruptcy Judge Michael Kaplan sided with the company and dismissed the objections of a group of customers, who argued they retained rights to the coins even before they were moved into a secure, digital wallet.

About $292 million worth of assets were trapped on the platform because customers tried to move them after the Nov. 10 halt, BlockFi said in court papers. Those transactions can now be canceled by the company, Kaplan ruled.

1390  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: May 12, 2023, 01:53:40 AM

Hehe I reckon women's MMA is where the fights become more unpredictable the lower it is placed in the card. However, I agree on the bet. Jessica Rose Clark recently has lost only vs. grapplers and Tainara Lisboa appears to be a striker only who trained in Muay Thai.

Also, this might be another more important reason why everyone will like Jessy Jess hehehee. I am quite certain @YuginKadoya would agree.

Jessica Rose Clark is a striker for sure but there are some cases she will lead to a submission when the perfect opportunity comes, but when Stephanie Egger Submits with an Armbar she doesn't have any answer to it at all and in another fight she has, maybe Julija Stoliarenko have watched the Stephanie Egger fight and goes to the Armbar again where Clark doesn't have any answer at all, and in this Armbar, I was like so many worries about my love Jessica Rose Clark, I then search her social media or news about her if she is doing alright,

And just like bbc.reporter said I surely Agreed that Jessica Rose Clark was the Harley Quinn of the fighting Kitties here in the UFC despite her loss I will still support her, but surely I really wish she can learn from all that losses she got just like Alexa Grasso with her solid performance but despite that, I really can't get mad about her look that he pictures BBC have shared it was really magnificent, I could give you a merit right now but I can't because I don't have an S merit at the moment,

YuginKadoya has interesting reputation in this topic Cheesy

I suggest not to miss following fights during upcoming event: main event for sure, Smith vs Walker, Brown vs McGee. Damn, I still cant forget how Brown chopped Sanchez with elbow https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDWsA6Pg6_w. Also cant wait for him to retire. Because all those strikes to head already start to cause him speech and memory problems, but he keep on participating. And Smith and Walker are always good to watch.

Interesting indeed,  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy well look at that picture are you not interested in it too TopTort777?  Cheesy

Anyways there are so many great fights in this event right now and I was so surprised by the list, it was like the Main Event of the UFC or let's say it is a Mini Main Event, with collaboration with ABC 4 but sad to say the Mackenzie Dern vs. Angela Hill was rescheduled,

Is it ok for him to have some alcohol with his mental condition?  Lolol because you know 'Tony Ferguson is the type of guy who gives his corner team advice between rounds' or he's 'the type of guy who gives his coach a sip of water after each round'.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Seriously tho, hope he's ok.

Anyway here's another fight vid.  Enjoy...

UFC Free Fight:  Almeida vs Turkalj
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhvrEBPNaG8

Anybody else think Almeida can't easily just get a TD off of Roz?  A lot of sharps seem to think so.  Roz is around 30 lbs heavier than Almeida.

I really think he can drink a sip but if he is not stable at all he shouldn't drink that much, for Tony Ferguson drinking in moderation is for him and not getting into some crazy stuff like this, but you are correct I also hope he is doing OK

Cant wait for @YuginKadoya to comment on his kitten reputation Cheesy Cheesy

About Aljo - he is on 9 win streak, fights after a neck surgery, wikipedia says he has most wins in his weight class, already defended his belt 3 times (yes, he has got that belt in a weird way, but no one so far managed to take it back from him), he has beaten 3 former bantamweight champs (T.J. Cejudo, Yan). People make laugh of him, as he isnt a true champ, but I think it is time we give him some respect.

Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy The Fighting Kittens are so Fluffy! Well, I was just busy at work finishing things, but yeah this is the longest post I ever made in my opinion, just replying to you guys! I was really laughing to my heart's content Thanks to both of you that was really appreciating and for the Love of those FIGHTING KITTENS!!! I Say AWOOOOOOO!!!!!

Hehehehe, @kittieswatchers, there might be a big problem for this fight. Tainara Lisboa is a striker without much skills in grappling and in wrestling. This implies that the fight might not go to the ground hehe. However if this will go to the ground, I predict on the 3rd round it might be rear naked victory for Jessy Jess.

1391  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: May 12, 2023, 01:32:35 AM
@ChiBitCTy. Agreed. I reckon the Bears would have made a better record in the standings if the playbook gave Justin Fields more running opportunities near the beginning of 2022 season heheeh. Also hehehe, didn't the Bears have Trey Lance as their first choice in the 2020 draft but picked Justin Fields because San Francisco drafted Lance first?

In any case, the schedule for 2023 season has been released! Regular season begins on September 11.

1392  Economy / Gambling / Re: Neodice.com | Futuristic Dice Platform 🎲🌌 on: May 11, 2023, 04:38:46 AM
I was bored and remembered Neodice hehehe. The faucet gave me 100 satoshis and I played 49.50x that the next number should be over 97.99. The draw gave me 99.88 hhehehe! Thank you, I presently now have something to do.

In any case, the music is still very relaxing, however, I have the same request from 1 year ago. I reckon the gamified faucets need sound effects hehe.
Thank you for your feedback and I'm glad you don't forget about Neodice. We always strive to create interesting and exciting gameplay for our users. As for the sound effects of our gamified faucet game, we appreciate your feedback and will definitely take it into account when we work on improving the gameplay.

Although in fact we are now in a bit of a stupor, as we have significantly cut funding for the development of new features.  Sad

I am very sorry. But there are some ways to get more funding to continue development for the Neodice. You can organize a token sale through a DeFi launchpad. You have a proven dice gambling business already, I reckon the next you will need is a business proposal showing your roadmap and why the community should invest in your token sale.

Similar to play to earn, many people have speculated that GambleFi might become the next big storyline in the DeFispace beginning this year or next year. There are projects already positioning themselves to move with the next bull market. There will be much investments flowing into this. Do not waste your time.

I am not quite certain where to share this news article. This will become another attempt to disable the innovation being brought and enjoyed in the cryptospace.

A Democratic representative laid into witnesses during Wednesday’s joint hearing on crypto regulation, arguing that there is no way to effectively regulate crypto markets when they are subject to such “massive market manipulation.”

House Financial Services Committee member Bill Foster, D-Illi., argued that wash trading cannot be controlled without establishing federally-regulated “traceable digital identities” for all wallets and users.

“If we wish to prevent wash trading…is there any alternative to having both sides of every crypto transaction associated with a traceable digital identity and have that digital identity issued by a government with which we have extradition treaties and a common concept of financial fraud, is there any alternative to that?” Foster asked the panel of witnesses.

In any case, I have argued against some people in the forum who tells everyone that regulations are good for adoption. However, it appears that they do not have any understanding on what regulations might imply on the cryptospace.

This is how I understand how regulations might be implemented and it will certainly not be good for adoption.

@JayJuanGee. You are correct that the outcome of the case might not occur as I have speculated. I was only thinking that if the market is not as bullish as expected for the year 2023, the community might welcome any type of good news it can get and also might choose to forget and stop questioning what was has occured in FTX hehehehee.
1396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: May 10, 2023, 03:40:55 AM

This is the first time I dare to bet some money on the women's fight between Jessica-Rose Clark vs. Tainara Lisboa which will take place next Saturday.
Usually I only bet on male fighters but seeing a chance to win for Jessica I dared to take the risk.
Jessica is a female fighter in the Bantamweight division and has quite a history of fighting.
When I did my research and looked at her fight history, can see that Jessica has the upper hand and has a big chance to win the fight.

Hehe I reckon women's MMA is where the fights become more unpredictable the lower it is placed in the card. However, I agree on the bet. Jessica Rose Clark recently has lost only vs. grapplers and Tainara Lisboa appears to be a striker only who trained in Muay Thai.

1397  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [Updated] FTX on: May 10, 2023, 02:13:36 AM
Sam Bankman-Fried's legal defense team claims that it was crypto winter that caused the failure of FTX hehehe. Are they telling everyone that Sam and his team never moved user funds under FTX's custody to Alameda Research's trading account? I shake my head.

However, if Sam's case is dismissed or if there is a trial and he wins the case, I speculate that this will be taken as bullish by the market and much of the people in the community. We will try to forget what happened because what we really want is a market pump.

Sam Bankman-Fried’s lawyers have come out swinging against federal prosecutors, seeking to preemptively dismiss most of the criminal charges made against the disgraced FTX co-founder and former CEO before a trial can take place.

Calling the U.S. government’s pursuit of Bankman-Fried “a classic rush to judgment,” the FTX and Alameda owner’s defense team argues that shortcomings leading to FTX’s demise are common throughout the crypto industry. They also contend the company’s failure stems from a broader crypto winter, rather than reported failure to back FTX’s native token FTT, or secret loans from FTX to Alameda alleged by both prosecutors and the bankruptcy team put in place to manage the repayment of FTX customers and creditors.

Also, FTX will return. This will be taken as very bullish and the community will celebrate.
1398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 'Attack on Bitcoin’ Claims Circulate as Transaction Fees Climb Higher on: May 10, 2023, 01:32:20 AM
it doesn't matter who is responsible for the attack and what types of transactions are flooding the blockchain... someone is paying for this.

"For instance, in the case of bitcoin, each valid block encompasses an average of 2000 transactions."
https://originstamp.com/blog/how-many-blocks-are-in-a-blockchain/

"Bitcoin Average Transaction Fee is at a current level of 30.91"
https://ycharts.com/indicators/bitcoin_average_transaction_fee

so you have 60 000$ per 10 min = 9 mln $ per day. No matter if its bitcoin attacker that wanted the price to collapse, or pepe kids excited about new use case, sooner or later they will run out of cash. And there will be only one winner. bitcoin miners = bitcoin security = bitcoin network

I reckon it certainly matters if there is a malicious intention and a motive to disrupt the normal order of business. You also say that someone is paying for this. I agree, it is us the users including all services and the gambling site that pays you for your campaign.

This good for the miners storyline manipulation is being used at our expense. We are being tricked that this attack, assuming that this is verified true, is alright.

In any case, this is being shared in social media.

Action should have been taken months ago. Spam filtration has been a standard part of Bitcoin Core since day 1. It's a mistake that the existing filters weren't extended to Taproot transactions. We can address that, or try a more narrow approach like OP_RETURN (ie, what "Ordisrespector" does). Since this is a bugfix, it doesn't really even need to wait for a major release.

(We already have pruning. It's not an alternative to spam filtering.)

@Abiky. Have you read this news article? Uncle Gary and the SEC are already starting to open discussions on an implementation of a rule that only approved custodians are allowed to hold your cryptocoins and tokens. This will disable not your keys, not your coins and expect holders to give all trust to their approved custodians.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) went too far when it proposed a new rule demanding investment firms safeguard all of their clients’ assets – including crypto – with approved custodians, according to an array of critics not often in alignment.

News update.

This might be the storyline of the month hehehe. According to @Wublockchain on Twitter, the BSV community have been developing Ordinals software, platforms and have been using them.

The development team behind the wallet for BRC20 called Unisat was also the same development team that created BSV's smart contract solution. The development team behind Ordswap was the same development team that created a decentralized trading platform on BSV. Twetch developers created Ordinals wallet.

I reckon if verified true, this is certainly an attack on bitcoin.

The BSV community has extensive participation in Bitcoin Ordinals and BRC 20. Behind Unisat, the core wallet of BRC20, is the Chinese development team of the previous BSV community, which has developed Sensible Contract, a smart contract solution on BSV. By
@TechFlowPost

The team behind Ordswap, the first BRC20 trading platform, has developed RelayX, the first decentralized trading platform on the BSV network. Behind the wallet Ordinals Wallet is Twetch, a social application built on BSV. The founder of the Mempool mining pool is also a core member of the BSV community
