1401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Surprise back!!!! on: May 04, 2023, 08:59:39 PM
Omg some time ago Elon Musk again shocked the cryptocurrency community by changing his Twitter home profile and as the owner of Twitter which became the symbol of Doge Coin, now Doge has increased by 24% recorded today at https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/dogecoin there is always this behavior of influential people.
Do you think Elonmusk's movement can make Doge return to the moon?

How much can you believe in a coin that relies on one guy who is a known troll to support the coin.  Eventually his influence will run out.  The people who buy based on elon will have full bags and the rest will just be looking to buy and dump for profit leaving doge in the dust.  It needs more than "a guy" to move a project.
1402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH vs BTC future growth potential on: May 04, 2023, 08:55:04 PM
I hear a lot of voices saying that BTC's price will go through the roof when the monetary system goes down.
I've heard predictions of BTC going 4x in 2024. Others say 33x in years to come.

Is there any estimated guess on how high Ethereum can go?
While the growth of BTC depends on the loss of confidence in regular currencies (dollar, euro..) it seems that the growth of ETH is not dependent on this.
I often hear people talk about BTC value explosion, while it seems that growth of ETH price is more gradual and linear. So basically a lower expected return on investment.

Also, after BTC surviving for more than 10 years and not even the Chinese government being able to stop it, I am quite confident it can not be stopped.
But can ETH somehow be stopped? Confiscated or devalued when exchanges are attacked

The investment I can afford right now is 1 BTC and 1 ETH.
I barely have fixed costs for the next 2 years so I can slowly stack up.
But I don't know if the same amount is better invested in let's say 0.5 BTC and 5 ETH. That will depend on growth potential and safety
Also if the government somehow finds a way to attack BTC, owning 5 ETH can compensate for the other investment that didn't work out.
I would like to diversify, but don't find many suited options to diversify in.

I wouldn't listen to anyone in here.  People are either bitcoin or eth people and will pitch you their bags.  If you believe in both of them hedge your bet and buy 50% down the middle, and slowly cost average your way up on both of them.  It limits your downside risk if one of them goes down and removes the opportunity risk if you pick the wrong one that moves better in the future.  Good luck you are on the right path Smiley

Bet Builder - Curry Over 35.5 PRA + Looney Over 17.5 PR + Wiggins Over 23.5 PRA = @2.63
Good luck everyone.

Good luck, mate. Honestly, I find the Curry+Looney bet easy, but I'm a bit skeptical about Wiggins over 23.5 PRA since his performance in game 1 was not impressive. If he can score at least 20 points, then I think that bet will likely win. I hope you win your bet.

Even if Kevon Looney will not score that much, we all know that he always grab at least 20 rebounds per game ever since the playoff started and the remaining 3.5 will somehow be made in assists and points. So yes, that is really achievable especially Curry because he is already a scoring machine and we might see him bounce back after having a bad performance during their 1st game. I got a pretty good feeling about that, that is why I almost got my bets towards the Warriors.

Good luck..

I actually like those bets too.  Just been burned too many times on prop bets because of lopsided games.  They pull a player or don't run plays for them.  I feel like it's much easier in season to hit props on some of the role players that get more playing time but have low pra over unders.  Good luck might I might tail you on the looney one.  Dudes been a beast on the bourds
1404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 04, 2023, 08:41:34 PM
I guess most of us expected that the Celtics will take 2, but what I didn't expect is how the Celtics won. I expect that this will be a close one knowing that Embiid is back, and with Harden's Game 1 performance, he will continue it in Game 2, but it wasn't the case at all.

After scoring 45 points, the Celtics adjusted on how they must defend Harden, and that's the reason why he is very awful on that game scoring only 12 points, and had -21 on the plus-minus rating. We know that the Celtics are one of the best defensive teams in the NBA, and there's not that much changes on their roster. What we don't know is that they are also a good three point shooting as well, and they displayed it here on this game as they shot 20 threes in 51 attempts compare to just 6 of 30 for the Sixers.

Also the 3rd quarter surge of the Celtics made consecutive three point shots is the reason why the lead ballooned coming into the 4th quarter, and from that they didn't look back. I guess there's nothing wrong with Harden on this one, but it's the adjustment of the Celtics' defense against him that causes him to have this poor performance, and so is Embiid.
This was needed because after they lost the first game at home, a lot of people started to think that they were not good enough to beat Sixers and they will lose the series, because you do not lose your first home game. But with this game and the domination, they showed that the first game was a fluke and that is not how they play and they are going to do better.

If they keep doing better than we are going to end up considering them as the contender again, I felt like they could even get the title this season, it wasn't unlikely and it could still happen, but after the first game I started to doubt that, with this game I started to trust them a bit more again. So this game was something they needed both for the fans but also for their own confidence as well.

When it gets to the second round and on all bets are off.  It's about stealing a close game and protecting home court.  If I had to guess Celtics win one in Philly.  Gonna be a close game or 2 that one shot will be the difference.  Tonight's series I think will end up the same.  Split down the middle.
1405  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 04, 2023, 08:38:28 PM
Celtics should have played in the first game like this for sure. Keeping Sixers under 90 points? That is a huge achievement, and I think it could have been 100-105 and I would still say good enough defense but this is amazing. Losing your very first game of the seriest at home will hurt them. Now they are going to Philly and they will need to steal at least one game, preferably the first game so the series is 2-1 ahead like it suppose to be on third games for the home team, 2 wins at home means you can lose 2 at road and still be fine.

So, Celtics will look to steal one as well, I will bet that they are going to win the third game, I could of course be wrong, but that just what they suppose to do, will they be able to do it is beyond me for sure.

This one is gonna go the distance I think.  Celtics always look insanely good and then throw in a stinker.  Gonna be a fun one to watch.

Tonight laying in on the Warriors-6.  They can't go down 2-0 going to LA.  I feel a steph 40+ incoming tonight.  No way he defers.  Might take a look at the over too
1406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Machine Learning Model for NBA Sports Betting on: May 03, 2023, 09:29:33 PM
I just saw this Machine Learning for NBA Sportbetting that being use on other forum which you can have your own model to create an analysis on past statistics of the team and create a betting analysis for you.

The Machine Learning Description by the developer
Quote
A machine learning AI used to predict the winners and under/overs of NBA games. Takes all team data from the 2007-08 season to current season, matched with odds of those games, using a neural network to predict winning bets for today's games. Achieves ~75% accuracy on money lines and ~58% on under/overs. Outputs expected value for teams money lines to provide better insight.

This is the actual topic which some users used the machine learning to create model for him.

https://www.reddit.com/r/sportsbetting/comments/131pf84/machine_learning_model_nba_predictions_42823/

He has 65% winning percentage on all of his bets that he recorded on his spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1LxPq1ZF3k6BreB8p50vESP-7BTZXVrFs6abU7qxaq2c/edit?usp=drivesdk

I’m planning to give this tool a try since manually digging the stats of team is a hassle job to do. Just sharing in case someone wants to experiment.

I'm sure this is decent to use.  The only caution I have is that all regular season stats get thrown out the door and can't be a good predictor in the playoffs.  Coaches coach differently and teams use different rotations in the playoffs that aren't used during the regular season.  Every tool is a helpful piece but I wouldn't put all my chips on what this thing spits out.
1407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 10k investment on: May 03, 2023, 09:08:45 PM
Hi,

I’m looking to invest 10k, I’m trying to decide if to go with XRP or ADA.

In terms of holding I can do it for 1-3 years no real time limit. Not sure what returns I might get short term vs long term. ADA for example i might get 3 to 4 x return, however with XRP that might be a lot more should they win the court case.

My slight worry is what happens if XRP lose.

P

I mean I'd stay away from xrp for multiple reasons but if ypu have to depend on a court case to get on the right side of the investment do you really want to be in on that.  Why not put your money into something not in the middle of litigation.  There are zillions of other projects, and although mostly are all scams there are some good ones.  I'd look elsewhere.
1408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 03, 2023, 09:06:06 PM
Maybe one last ride huh? Warriors vs Lebron again and Lebron managed to get the first win, that's a good thing for them, definitely a good way to break the home court advantage and should be considered a great deal, I hope that they can keep doing that for a while longer.

All in all I would guess that Lakers do have a big advantage thanks to AD, because they are doing something that Warriors can't do, which is rebounding like crazy. That is how Warriors beat Kings, managed to get the boards, and Lakers knew this and Lebron is making it look easier. I hope that it gets better soon enough, and the series gets tied next game. I am going to bet Warriors win on second game, that seems like the most likely result by the looks of it.

Yeah I'm actually reluctant to bet the winners rather pick the over unders.  I want to be able to enjoy these gane from a fan perspective instead of a gambling perspective.  Might be the last time we get one of these series between these 2 all time greats.  Hopefully it goes six or 7 amd gives us some dramatic finishes.
1409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 03, 2023, 07:26:26 PM
Tonight's game is gonna be a good one.  Taking the sixers and the money line on this one.  I just don't think Celtics can contain embid.  Between him and Harden those 2 foul merchants make 4th quarters hard because usually everyone on the other team is in foul trouble.  Hoping embid is healthy and knowing him will want to have a good game after being named mvp.  Don't see how Celtics win unless they shoot the lights out.  Bad matchup for them in this series.
1410  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 03, 2023, 07:23:18 PM
Bookies are insisting that Knicks are the better team in this series vs Heat and I see totally different than them. I see Heat as a finals contenders right now and last night it was Heat to played poorly rather than Knicks played good but I can see this series going down until game 7 with Heat moving further.

Lakers ...man , if somehow Lakers gets to win this NBA year , that would be totally unexpected because 2 months ago they were barely into play offs spots.

The heat are just the media darlings because of the whole 8 seed beat a 1 seed.  Everyone is saying how knxoks barely won last night while ignoring game one heat struggled to win with Randle out.  Randle is the Knicks leading scorer AND rebounder on the team.  I'm a knicks fan so I might be biased but I think the bookies AR spot on with this one they should be a slight favorite.  2 big games in Miami just hoping for a split to bring it back to NY.  Knicls annihilated the Cavaliers in theor previous series.  Don't know why they get so much disrespect.
1411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 03, 2023, 07:19:12 PM
Joel Embiid is the winner of this year’s MVP award. I personally don’t think he had a better year than Jokic, but I’m glad Jokic didn’t win it again. The NBA always gives people the MVP too early and leads to them getting snubbed later. I think that’s what happened to Jokic this year and giving the MVP to the ‘next up’ guy is why Rose stole one of LeBron’s MVPs and same with Nash stealing one from O’Neal. I could go on and on. Hopefully this Embiid MVP (which is more like a lifetime achievement award in this case) allows them to break that cycle and start giving the MVP to the player that had the most dominant season instead of the next superstar.

Yeah, it's good to see Jokic not winning the MVP this year, I'm not totally against him, but there were moments where in the MVP was announced to early as you have said. Even as early as Malone stealing one from MJ and then MJ came back in revenge to win the NBA finals.
The final games of both Jokic and Embiid has been the deciding factor IMO.
In the final games, Jokic sit out, and didn't play because of injury while Embiid is out there carrying his team. I guess that's the reason why Embiid has picked the winner. I mean in most of the regular season, we don't know who will be the MVP because both of them are playing very well. It's just that Jokic got injured, sit out in the final games of the regular season, and Embiid is still playing. Anyway, I won my bet on this one big time. Cheesy Congratulations to Embiid as well. Still Larry Bird is still the last player to win MVP 3x in a row back in the '80's I think.

Looks like the front office of the Grizzlies have enough of him already. His destroying the reputation of the team with his trash talks, and I guess we will all agree if I will say that he's the one who trash talks the most in the whole Grizzlies roster, but isn't converting it into stats, and still performing very awfully all throughout the season, and in this last playoffs against the Lakers.

Nevertheless, now that we know that the Grizzlies will not get him again, I wonder which team will try to get him? I hope that the Warriors will get him.  Cheesy Cheesy I mean Westbrook and Beverley became teammates in the Lakers at the start of the season, and we know the beef between the two of them back a few years ago. Don't take what I said very seriously because I don't think that the Warriors will get him anyway. Overall, I'm excited on which team will try and get him after what happened.

I hope that wasn't the final draw.  There were plenty of games that embid sat out due to injury this year.  I honestly think it's more a, we should give it to someone new.  Jokic led his team to the 1 spot almost wire to wire this year.  All while sporting healthy numbers all around.  He easily could have gotten a third one but I think Philly might literally have burned down the NBA offices.  Good for embid but it could have go e either way and don't think any single game was a deciding factor.

What steps can a country leader takes before adopting POLYGON as a means of payment or transactions in a country with low level of education. As it's known to be one of the best user friendly platform for easy transactions.

I mean any country can make any currency tueir local currency.  Why wouldn't they start with bitcoin?  Since it sits on its own blockchain and more of a proven currency why wouldn't they look there first?  I'm pro polygon but that is a step way too far away right now.
1413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 02, 2023, 09:48:21 PM

With the expectation that he will add good chance for the Suns in winning the title might be spoiled since Nuggets
is really giving them a tough time leading 2-0 in their best of 7 series.

We will expect more critics as some of them are just riding with the issue to gain attentions especially those so-called sports analysts.

Their chance will be in game three because they might gonna pull an upset just like the GSW did when they first let the Kings win some games but they took the last laugh at game 7. But the problem with the Phoenix Suns is their chemistry because they are now with KD and they were not playing that long they are in the stage of building some trust, especially in the playoff games like this. If they cannot handle it well, they will gonna blow this chance and might gonna be swept by the Nuggets because right now they are completely at the different level because of jamal Murray.

A healthy Murray provides an extra help for Jokic and the rest of the team, with how Murray distributes the ball and how he also
attack the basket with a very big contribution that really giving them the extra edge.

If Suns will push this one to an upset, they need to start now. Losing 3 straight games will surely put them into a place where they needed to bring impossible things to happen.

We still can't conclude this series as there are still games that can change the tempo of a possible outcome. Let's all enjoy both teams' performances.

With Murray shooting the way he did and Denver still controlled the game late is going to be tough for the Suns to deal with.  It doesn't seem like anyone can stop jokic.  Eventually they are gonna have to just keep throwing doubles and triples at him and hope open shooters go cold.  No one to guard him one on one.

Game 2 for the Knicks game and probably the long awaited Lakers and golden state series.

Taking the Knicks-6.5. Thinking playoff Jimmy's ankle is gonna afford the Knicks a rebound game here.  Gonna be tough for Miami in msg with a not 100% Jimmy.

And gimme the golden state Warriors at home here.  Think this is gonna be a long series with home teams mainly winning.steph goes big tonight.

Enjoy the games!
1415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for the Next Great 1000x on: April 30, 2023, 08:06:29 PM
I've seen a couple or so newbie accounts asking for a 'criteria' on how to choose an altcoin that would have the greatest potential to be a 1000x coin.

I'm gonna throw around some ideas but as all of you already know, this is in no way financial advice.  This is just all for the lulz and it would be cool if you guys throw your own ideas in the mix too...  So here goes.

Criteria to find the next 1000x coin:

It must not be listed in any of the major exchanges.  This is not a hard rule but I noticed that 1000x coins are mostly unknown.

It must have a dog logo.  What can I say, memecoins seem to go up by a lot more than the rest of the market.

Be mindful of market cap.  The lower, the better.  If a coin's market cap is 100m, 1000x would be 100b.  Lol.  It would take a lot of money to pump it that high.  But if the market cap is just 1 million, 1000x would be 1 billion.  It's much more possible it could happen imho.

That's it for now.

Edit:  Great criteria here...

I would like to add that it needs to be new token/coin that people haven't yet tweeted about, at least not too much. Preferably with no advertising bounties. Old projects under 10M marketcap have either died or something bad has happened behind the scene. Something that no one is interested in them, so unless you know some inside news about those, you are betting on a dead horse.

Also no price talk on the channel gives a professional touch that makes me think it's already more mature and professional then 90% projects out there.

Do you realize how few amd far between the coins that eventually 1000x themselves.  Most coins and tokens are just scams and depend on this notion that you can turn $100 into a million dollars fairly easily.  I know there are coins that can and have done 1000x but anyone here arguing how that's possible and even worse recommending coins that they think will is just garbage.  More people will just end up losing money to these scams with this idea in their head that they will just get rich.
1416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why people are always interested in altcoins on: April 30, 2023, 07:53:16 PM
as we know, many people suggest investing in bitcoin because the risk is not too high.
but if we look at the market there are lots of people buying altcoins, and to be honest I also like to buy altcoins but there aren't many of them, and it's still my biggest investment in bitcoin. and to be honest even though investing in altcoins is risky but I always want to buy and the reason is because of the high pumping..
and I want to ask everyone what is your  for buying altcoins, is the reason the same as mine?

Greed, simple.  People feel like they missed out on bitcoin and want to hit the next bitcoin.  People also think bitcoin is expensive and can't afford one so they like alts because they are "cheaper" and can buy a ton.  It's a physiological play as well.  Either way greed is involved and they want to catch the next run with a coin that can double, triple, etc their money.
1417  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 30, 2023, 07:48:03 PM
The stake odds for this game are 1.52 for the Knicks and 2.60 for the Heat, Right now Quentin Grimes and Julius Randle are doubtful if they can play for the Knicks and Julius Randle is out for the season, while Tyler Herro, can not play for the Heat, Bam Adebayo is doubtful and Victor Oladipo is now out for this season, for this game I think I can see that the Knicks is the favorite to win but Jimmy Butler is a different monster while pressured, for this game the truth is I really don't know who to choose, that is why I have gone to the best option going with the favorite, the New York Knicks,
Knicks is good and all but I believe that Heat will win again if Jimmy Butler ends up playing as well as he has so far. This is why I believe that we could see anything happen. Overall, Knicks is a better team for sure, I mean when you look at 5 positions, I would give 4 of them to Knicks, aside from Jimmy Butler who has played differently during this playoff period. After all it is going to be a tough one without a doubt.

The early games are a bit different as well, it is not the same thing at all, the regular times for them is a lot better for them. All in all I think the best thing to do for today is to stay away, we can see the games of each series and then we can make a decision based on that, doesn't make sense to take risks and put the first games as bets, just lets see how it will be.

Think the rest of the series leans in on can julius randle play effectively with his ankle issue and now that Jimmy rolled his ankle.  Can he play as effective.  If both can't I give the advantage to the Knicks.  Jimmy is that team.  Either way it's gonna be a good series.

As far as today's game I got the Champs and the moneyline.  I can't bet against steph even though the odds are stacked against them.

A politician in the Philippines claimed to have had a hand in the development of the very controversial e-sabong platform he operated e-sabong so he can make a lot of money so he can use for the campaign, and his family to win local elections because the election in the Philippines is very costly many candidates are buying votes to secure their win, there were reports that he murdered their family's opponent because of e-sabong.
Do you think that government should have a rule or a law for election candidates not to have a franchise in any form of gambling, in fact, there are a lot of politicians who are operators of illegal small-town lotteries this is to accumulate funds they can use for election campaigns.

Congressman confirms past stint with e-sabong when it was not yet banned by gov’t

I'm unsure of the political situation in the Philippines but in general I wouldn't trust any governmental involvement in the gambling system.  They know how to use every legal loophole to get the advantage.  As it stands the house has the odds if ypu add political power over those odds only increase.  I'd steer clear of that platform.

Knicks dominating the paint so far.  3-16 from 3 ain't gonna cut it though.  They need to just hit some more 3s and keep defending the 3.  This is going to be a great series.  Expecting this one to go 6 or the full 7.  Need Randle back as well.

A Shanghai man was sentenced to prison for kidnapping his own granddaughter so he could maintain his gambling addiction with the ransom money.

The kidnapping — orchestrated by a 65-year-old man identified only by his surname, Yuan — was first reported by the Shanghai Law and Rule Journal. The legal news outlet didn't specify when the incident occurred but wrote on April 18 that Yuan had just started serving his prison sentence.

Yuan kicked off his plan by picking up his four-year-old granddaughter from her kindergarten and taking her out to eat and shop without her mother's knowledge, the Journal reported.
