1421  Economy / Economics / Re: Is renting an inevitable waste of money? on: February 06, 2023, 08:28:46 PM
A rent to own or a loan that will give you a house right after you paid it, is a good decision. Renting a house forever will cost you a lot, and it is only for temporary. The disadvantage of it is that not every single time is you have money, and once you didn't pay the rent, you're living in the street and you don't want that to happen. Saving is also another option, then buy a house and lot.
Both are good as long as you are able to complete the payment in due time, as there is always a contract for that when to be considered fully paid. However, I find it more convenient to just find a rent to own house as you can immediate live in it the moment you start renting, although it’s quite more expensive than to buy a house and lot from taking the loaned money.
1422  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the origins of provably fair technology in gambling? on: February 06, 2023, 07:56:15 PM
As far I know, provably fair technology in crypto gambling is simply the application of cryptography/hash functions onto an specific market or purpose, so one can verify the gambling results in a trust-less way. The theory behind it is not actually new.

I am not sure what the first platform that started this trend was, though.
Yes, it’s actually done through a robust encryption. This provably fair technology helps to create more game transparency and its game integrity that’s why crypto gambling has its constant feature of this provably fair technology. This is also the reason why these provably fair casinos are more reliable than those traditional online casinos as games have more assurance that they are not rigged and are very transparent.
1423  Economy / Gambling / Re: Positive Gambling Quotes for 2023! on: February 06, 2023, 07:26:14 PM
If so, maybe this quote can be a reminder for us:

"If you find it hard to leave gambling, maybe you are already experiencing gambling addiction, leave immediately before it's too late."
And it's too late until someone realizes that he or she is already addicted to gambling. Yeah, this is a good quote to remind everyone of us that we have to control ourselves or else, we're too late in realizing that we're no longer the old us.

This website is composed of many gambling quotes and it includes the person who said it, pay a visit if you want.

https://www.therandomvibez.com/gambling-quotes-and-sayings-for-all-gamblers/
I guess this quote is easy to say but actually hard to do when you are experiencing gambling addiction. Once you’re into it, you cannot leave it immediately, but rather you would have experienced more losses and failures before you can say enough for all of these. But I believe for you to be able to overcome gambling addiction, you should gain more self-discipline and set your own limits in gambling. Never gamble to chase more of your luck and to chase more profits, that will only lead to suffer from gambling addiction.
1424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US casinos set new record of revenue on 2022 on: February 06, 2023, 06:57:54 PM
I guess this is another piece of evidence that gambling does not necessarily goes down during rough economical periods of time. Or are we supposed to assume it is coincidence this record of revenue happened while the United States is dealing with high inflation?

I wonder if there is any study on this matter, the relation between inflation and casino revenue. Anyways, thanks for bringing this up.

I guess even if most of the people are much affected with inflation, but that does not mean that gamblers will stop spending their money because they are eager more to save now than to spend. Maybe the reason why gambling is still in high demand because the gamblers are now more obsessed to try their luck so they can win and bring home their big bonuses and profits. It’s not anymore that gamblers gamble for fun, but this time gamblers are now eager to win more money and be more profitable.
1425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can anyone tell me what is the best way to gamble w/ BTC on online casinos? on: February 06, 2023, 06:34:04 PM
There's no such thing about cheat sheet but for sure there's what you call betting strategy which you can look at online. You can't really beat the casino that's for sure so my advice on what is the best way to gamble is enjoy every bits of it playing the games that you like not thinking if you are going to win or not. After all, that's how you supposed to play. There's a lot of casino out there with their own cons and pros and freetbitco.in already proved itself as one of the best casino in this forum.
As long as it’s gambling, there’s no safest way to gamble online but to always bet on the amount you can afford to lose, and gamble for fun, making profits is just a bonus. However, if you are looking for online casinos that are best to gamble, then always consider the good reputation of the casino itself. There are a lot of online casinos, but the problem is they’re not all reliable as they are.
1426  Economy / Economics / Re: When your passive income equals or slightly above your salary, what would you do on: February 05, 2023, 09:59:15 PM

I have been in a job I detested and although I somehow managed to stay at it for up to 4 years, I didn't even for once let go of my passionate hobby and other passive streams of income I was interested in at the time.
Today, one of my passive interests pays more than my salary. My mind has been yearning for a resignation, but opinions of others and family bears the message of patience with the job I so much detest for reasons ranging from inflation to fear of the unknown.

If you were in my shoes, what would be the best advice you would give yourself and adhere to in this instance?

Find a good job first that will replace your old hated job, one that also promise a good compensation, then you can leave your old job. And never settle into a single side hustle, if you think you can do more with your time availability, go for it as long as you have your high interest on it and you have the skills to make it more productive. Having a passive income is good, but in order to sustain that, you have to keep learning and developing your skills so that you will keep the productivity in your job and that will make you progress in the long run.
1427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: February 05, 2023, 09:46:09 PM

ctto

Date: March 4, 2023
Venue: Toyota Arena, Ontario California

So, this is now official as PBC has announced that this fight will take place this coming March 4.

For fans of Mark Magsayo, i know that you are eager to watch him rebound on his recent loss to Vargas but for me this is not an easy fight for him.

https://www.boxingscene.com/brandon-figueroa-vs-mark-margsayo-showtime-tripleheader-official-march-4--172155

This isn't an easy fight for Brandon but so is Figueroa, Brandon is not a hard puncher and loves to fight inside and mix it up, if Magsayo is going to win against Brandon he better make sure that he can last a full 12 rounds because Brandon can keep up as we have seen on his match against Fulton.
Brandon throws a lot of punches like Vargas so he should impose himself by connecting big shots, this fight is 50/50 for me but I'm hoping that Magsayo can bring on his best form because Brandon is one tough fighter.
That’s also my view on this match. Brandon is really a tough opponent and is not easy to lose. He has a high current knock-out ratio as he knock them out most of his opponents, that’s why Magsayo should have a good defense here so that he can still beat Brandon at the end of the match. For now, my bet is still 50-50 but my hopes and expectations is that Magsayo will still be able to perform better in the ring as this will mark a good comeback for him.
1428  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Interesting Facts About Online Casinos on: February 05, 2023, 09:25:26 PM
Fact number 7 is probably the surprising fact for me since i've been playing at Evolution gaming countless times already and I still haven't seen that tipping feature. I would've tipped a few dealers if the feature was more visible or maybe it's only limited to a few tables or casinos.

The last one was obvious but it's still an interesting one knowing it has a high house edge you would've expected fewer people to play the game but it still remains popular as more providers make different variations of slots.
I also didn’t know that it’s existing. I mean tipping is very visible in land based casinos but with online casino, I never have got the chance to tip someone even if I really want to. But thanks to you OP, at least now I’m aware. However, for the last fact, I guess it’s very obvious, slots are the most played especially for beginners in gambling. And there’s always exciting new games in slots that keep us coming in casinos, that is why slots are the most popular and the most profitable game not just for the house, but for gamblers as well.
1429  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: High Roller Tailing on: February 05, 2023, 08:59:16 PM
I used to follow bets from high rollers that post their bets and it's only because that high roller was always hitting his bets and others started following him as well. It worked out for me at the time but I remember that high roller had a lot of losses since he also made parlays and teasers aside from the usual single bets. Even if someone's successful at this strategy it's only a matter of time until they lose since there are too many high rollers to follow and most of them don't show their usernames on the feed so you can't tally their individual record.
Most of the high rollers have already high experiences in betting that’s why they are confident to place high bets because they have well research on the match being placed. That sometimes following them could also lead us to succeed. But it’s not all the time that they are going to win, gambling is gambling, even veterans also make wrong bets and lose their money. That is why if we are not sure where to bet, then do not go into random betting or follow a high roller, study first the match and know the background of each team, that way you will have better idea which team have high probability to win and which team will mostly lose. This is good for sportsbetting,   but for other games, still bet with caution to avoid blaming others once you lose your money.
1430  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How I decided to buy some fractions of BTC after discussion with members here on: February 05, 2023, 08:46:32 PM
Welcome to the dollar cost averaging club! It might hurt at first, might even be underwhelming for a couple of years but update this thread every now and then and you might find a nice surprise as early as 2025 Wink

I'd agree with others to not trust any kind of exchange, including Binance, but since that's likely the easiest way for you to buy, go for it. Meanwhile, familiarise yourself with a Bitcoin wallet (I'd start with Electrum) so you understand a bit more about how to use and keep it safely. When you're comfortable, start taking out your BTC from Binance on a wallet where only you control your private keys.
For beginners, it’s understandable to trust the top exchange first and when you think you have enough bitcoins accumulated, better transfer it to your own non-custodial wallet for more security. Btw, I would like to welcome you to the bitcoin community, and of course to the DCA club. Just keep doing DCA as long as bitcoin price is still a good buy, years from now we will reach a new ATH and start to sell our bitcoin for profits. But always know that before your start to invest in bitcoin, make sure that you know your investment well and you know exactly the risks involved in it.
1431  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why I will never trust top exchanges on: February 04, 2023, 09:59:13 PM
They definitely have their issues, but if I were to need to pick an exchange that I would trust, it would most likely be the top ones. At least rather than those exchanges with non-public team members.

Of course as always, withdraw your funds if you're not trading them and yadda yadda.
Yes, all exchanges have their own issues, regardless if they are on top or they are just building their reputation. That is why we should be more responsible not to put all our funds in an exchange, just enough funds to trade and withdraw them after. And if we do, at least we should look for trusted exchanges that have been giving us good services in years, but still we should always do it with caution.
1432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin with Tiffin money of my college life. on: February 04, 2023, 09:42:14 PM
5. You're no difference from someone using a bank because everything you do under a centralized exchange is from a central authority like the banks and other centralized institutionizations did.
Banks are better because they are likely to protect your fiat than exchanges will protect your coins. There can be robbery in your bank, you can go to another branch the next day to deposit or withdraw, you can make use of their online banking, this is the way banks operate in my country, but if an exchange is hacked, your coins are gone or inconveniences may occur.
That is a worst thing if you trust exchanges that will never guarantee full security over your coins. Once they are hacked, your coins will be gone forever. However, banks are still good these days but if you aim for bigger returns that will never happen. So it’s still best to have your own non-custodial wallet, at least you take the full management of your own coins and they will never be a target of stealing as long as the owner is responsible to protect his own coins.
1433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: February 04, 2023, 09:20:33 PM
So, have they finally been able to decide on the location of the match or are they keeping it a surprise or something?  I have not been able to get a straight answer ever since I first heard about the Davis vs Garcia match. And lets be honest, its been a long time coming, so I would not be surprised if all these secretive stuff is just another marketing tactic before the actual match.

I am pretty sure the match will be in Las Vegas but which stadium?

So far no news yet as to what stadium, but as I have said 3 possibilities right now for the promoter to get which one will fit all the fans. Yes, it will be in Las Vegas for sure, gambling + sports betting = huge revenue for them.

I don't think this is going to be a secret, marketing starts with the boxers themselves and how they can sell the fights to their fans.

But so far the hype is there so no matter which venues they pick, fans are willing to pay and watch it live.

Exactly, no matter what venue in the US, this fight will certainly attract a huge crowd because it'll be the first big fight this year. Everyone will be watching this, whether in the venue or the live streaming, so basically, making money is easy for the promoters since he has both undefeated champs who are both popular to the fans.
And besides, people have been rooting for these two to finally settle into a rematch so this will be another biggest event this year that people should dare watching. And only by then, we will come to witness if Ryan will maintain his position and will stay undefeated at the end of the game. So regardless if where in Las Vegas this rematch will take place, people will surely go for it because this is a game that is a must watch this year.

Quote
Online Casinos Want you to Gamble Responsibly
Or it is the casino's disclaimer that they are not responsible for anything bad that can happen to you because you are gambling like a shithead.

Sure, on the flipside, reminders like these denotes a positive tone, however you can't be sure if these entities actually cares to some random dude playing on their website. At the end of the day, their goal is to make money by providing some sort of entertainment where gamblers can enjoy.
It’s obvious that they don’t want to be blame if gamblers will resort into gambling addiction and lose everything they have. Because if they really care, once gamblers are making consistent losses, then they should put limits to it and these gamblers should not be allowed to gambler more. But it’s clear that casinos even come out with more bonuses and rewards so that gamblers will be more interested to bet more hoping they can still chase their losses and win a good amount this time.
1435  Economy / Economics / Re: How to thrive with low income in a humble area - part 2 on: February 04, 2023, 08:44:32 PM
You need to be smart actually in order to earn as much as possible to thrive more to increase your income. Start to accept any kind of job that wouldn't put you in a prison to help yourself start saving even it is little. Then do some side hustles, a good character will help you to earn more even you're just a parking boy in a third world country for example.

A lot of side hustles are needed in order to more aside from being employed, because in a third world country for example, the bare minimum wage is not enough to be honest to live every single day.
Be open minded and go out from your comfort zone. If you can do that, you will start to discover that there are better jobs outside your 8-hour day job. As long as you have certain talents and skills you have developed, it will be easier for you to accept side hustles that will improve your way of living and will put you into a more financial progress and stability. So even if you are minimum wage earner, that won’t be a problem as you have side hustles that you can rely too and that can provide you additional income enough not to struggle financially.
1436  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto YouTubers are all financial advisors on: February 03, 2023, 09:57:14 PM
If someone is not a financial advisor and still go live on Youtube or Twitch to talk about how they make money investing in a project or two what does that make them?

Aren't they supposed to keep their financial advice to themselves if they don't want to be a financial advisor? Yeah, I think the perfect way to stay away from been a financial advisor is to keep your ideas to yourself, don't say a word about it.

Oh, I almost forget, it pays to be a YouTuber, you need a niche to talk about per se, and it's very easy to talk about a project even if they are going to ruin your life, the secret behind this people is you, the only ways crypto YouTuber makes money is shilling their crypto bags and waiting for new buyers, it's two ways to make money for them, YOUTUBE and CRYPTO BAG..

If that’s what’s giving them a good income, even myself would also do that even if giving a financial advice might put someone into future losses. It’s not that I’m being greedy but if you are a responsible investor, you would never start investing and putting your money into that project if you never studied it in the first place. The basic rule is always know what your investing and always invest what you can afford to lose, so if you stick to that, you will never be actually at a loss in the end.
1437  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - take profits or continue to DCA? on: February 03, 2023, 09:48:40 PM
I first started investing in Bitcoin after the June crash last year.

I had accumulated 0.07 Bitcoin before we started pumping a few weeks ago and have since sold 0.02 which currently leaves me with 0.05.

I decided to sell and put the profits into other altcoins I believe will see greater gains in the next bull run.

I am not sure if I should continue selling my Bitcoin the more we pump or if I should start to DCA again.

My thinking behind selling is although I got in at a good price (my current average buy is £15k), that it is only a 6x from £100k which is the expected amount Bitcoin will reach next bull run.

A 6x is good if you have thousands of pounds to invest , but I do not.

I want 20x gains and feel this is more realistic in top altcoins that are currently 80-90% down.

Is anyone taking profits or are most of us just DCA?

I’m not sure if there are a lot of taking profits by now as the market is not completely impressive and profitable enough to sell our bitcoin. That’s why I stay doing DCA and only decide to sell when I think it’s the perfect time to sell. Though bitcoin price is starting to create a slight price increase, but knowing how volatile it is, it might drop again in the next following days. The reason why I only focus on DCAing to fill in my portfolio with bitcoin.
1438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Very thankful for what bitcoin has done for me. on: February 03, 2023, 09:19:05 PM
Since its inception, bitcoin has opened doors to new opportunities for many people all over the world. A stress-free and valuable one, at that. Many people who saw the benefit of bitcoin earlier are now living a happy and healthy life as a result of taking advantage of the opportunity at an early stage. People thinking of not joining now and thinking it’s late already should be reoriented to have a change mindset in that regard. Bitcoin is paving the way for many people, and the sooner people realize this, the better.
People will never realize it unless they start taking the courage of working on bitcoin just like what they mostly do in their main job. While working with bitcoin gives us more time for ourselves and on how to improve our craft, the compensation being offered is clearly higher than what we earn from our regular jobs. That’s why I’m also thankful to bitcoin because I have also given such opportunity like this earning at the comfort of my own home.
1439  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Charitable Casinos on: February 03, 2023, 08:40:21 PM
I am not aware of these charity casinos, its highly recommended to play on these casinos and if ever they create an announcement I will fully support this kind of casino, we will not feel bad if we ever lose money because we are helping people in need, in my country our lottery is being managed by our government and a big portion of the profit goes to charitable institutions for the poorest in our country, that is why the majority of people in our country are supporting it betting on it because they never know if they will be the next to ask for help in the institutions that benefit from these lotteries.
But even if they are charity-based casinos they should build their reputation, pay winners and address issues.
Casinos should still have no unresolved issues especially if it pertains to winnings withrawal as it’s the most important factor that customers will always consider. At least, if they are still considered reputable and trusted by gamblers, I would always support that casino so that I could also take part in helping those people who are less fortunate. Having said that, losing from this casino will never give me a heavy heart as my losses will also benefit other people.
1440  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much time do you think you have spent gambling? on: February 02, 2023, 09:28:57 PM
I find this to be a curious topic, after reading someone else's posts where they described gambling as if it were their permanent lifestyle/purpose/function.

If there were a "gameplay" timer where the total amount of time you've spent gambling (whether it be online or in person), what do you think the amount would be?
Or if you have lost too many hours to count, how much time do you think the clock would be if it started at the beginning of 2023?
...and do you regret either of those numbers?

I will lose track of those times because we forgot the hours when we are having time but I can do an estimation its 10 hours online and offline every week, ad I don't regret those numbers and numbers that I will accumulate as long as I'm enjoying those hours, some of these hours are spent with my friends playing cards every weekend, it's our way to spend time together.
Most probably, more than 10 hours for me every week spending in gambling since that is also one way to entertain myself especially if I came from a load of jobs that week that I just have to unwind and find entertainment in gambling. So it’s not really all in profits but mostly in losses i guess, but that won’t matter as long as I enjoyed gambling that time. For me, given this long hours spent in gambling, there’s nothing to regrets actually, as it’s my choice to gamble in my free time than to find myself drinking in bars and returning home late while drunk.
