There are video of PG and John Wall playing as Clippers and they seem to click right away. But Kawhi should be the one that we are going to watch, he is still the main man for the Clippers franchise. So all hopes are going to be in his shoulder, and hopefully the Clippers are not going to choke in the playoffs  Grin.

And so the West is going to be tight again, with Lakers, Phoenix, Nuggets and Dallas fighting it with against the defending NBA champion - GSW.

Kawhi missed the whole 2021-2022 season, I do not expect him to be explosive coming back. That is a very long time without basketball. It may take some time for him to get back to his championship form.

We expect nothing from the west. It has always been stacked with great teams and competition is always tight. I expect to witness good basketball this season. Hopefully, the Lakers will not disappoint, unlike last season.

Wow, LA Clippers have a huge chance to be a champion this season, as long as John Wall will be healthy and he will still perform the way he used to when he was still with the Wizards, I think LA Clippers can make it to the NBA finals. I know we have the Warriors here, but I'm now rooting for a new team that is a great contender.
Hopefully, they stay healthy. I wonder if they will put John Wall into load management like they are doing with Kawhi. Wall is also prone to injury, so if they load manage him, they can prevent some serious injury. They are great team in paper, hopefully they can convert it in the court.
1482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: September 20, 2022, 01:00:43 AM
And SMB's import is also a big man. I don't know how other teams will compete at a much powerhouse SMB. CJ Perez is also playing at a top level of his career. He is dangerous even Terrence Romeo will not come back next season.

SMB is again will be the Favorite to win the championship for sure

They will be too hard to deal with for sure. They are already a strong team in all Filipino cup and now that they have a strong import, they will be much stronger.

SMB supporters will be glad for sure for having Thomas Robinson on their lineup, but I am sure they would be sad to see the odds on every game of SMB.

I doubt bookies will give a good odd for SMB. They are already too powerful. They dominated PBA last conference, no doubt they will dominate this conference as well.

1483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch gambling problem and Sliker issue on: September 20, 2022, 12:15:05 AM
Twitch has turned into a cesspool of gambling addicts and gambling pushers. Do you think it's a responsible content creation & moderation on a platform which is used by teens, kids, and young adults?

Will this be the straw that will finally break the Camel's back and will force Twitch to ban gambling streams?
I hope it does.

That is what it turned into right now. As long as it amasses views, streamers will do anything, with no restrictions. They do not mind if it will have a negative effect on their viewers or whether kids will be following and copying their actions.

But I do not think that Twitch will do anything about it unless there are mass reports on this kind of content. Twitch is still a business and if it is earning money from it then it will continue. They will do nothing unless the community forces them to do something about it.

1484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 19, 2022, 11:54:15 PM
I agree, Pacman doesn't have to prove himself again because he already carved his name in the boxing industry and have achieved a feat that will be hard for any boxer to attain.
That's why if he wants to fight again, there will be a lot of boxers that would be happy to fight against him. It is because of the fame that's attached to him and for those boxers, it's an honor to have a match against him.
What I can see with those new boxers that would still like to fight against him, it's like quick fame and career boost whether they'll be beaten or win against Pacman. That's what Ryan Garcia tried to do but Pacman didn't bite his words.

It is not just fame but also easy money for whoever will fight Manny Pacquiao. Though he is already old for boxing, his name still has a lot of pull for fans. I am sure, there are a lot of people who still want to see Pacquiao in the ring again. That alone can generate a lot of money. But I do not think we will still see Pacquaio in the ring again, either rank or exhibition.

1485  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 19, 2022, 10:24:33 PM
During a trade a player has no choice.  If the Suns have CP under contract and trade him to the Lakers there is nothing chris Paul can say unless he has a no trade clause in his contract which I don't think he does.  Players only have a choice when they are glfree agents and looking for a team to sign them.
That is true. But Chris Paul is an influencial player. If he and lebron wanted to play together, they can make it happen. They can force a trade to make it happen. But like I said, it is not beneficial for Cp3 to play in the lakers because of how it is set up right now and that cp3 has better chance of getting a championship in phoenix than in Lakers. That trade rumor is likely not to happen but we will see. There are still ample of time to make it a reality if it is true.
1486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 19, 2022, 07:39:26 PM
This is the first I've heard of this potential trade and I'm sure it's just clickbait, but 'The Sportest' published an article this morning titled, Chris Paul With The Lakers Is ALMOST Set And Done:
https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/chris-paul-with-the-lakers-is-almost-set-and-done-nba-trade-rumors/vi-AA11Zi9n

I'm sure this is nonsense, but would be cool.  I don't think the Lakers have any pieces the Suns want, so I'm not holding my breath.

In other news, it looks like Kevin Love is finally going to take a buyout and move on from the Cavs.  They're saying Golden State or New Jersey are potential landing spots.  I think him joining the Warriors would really help fill the hole left in Draymond's 3 point shooting troubles.

Tried to look this up but cannot find any article that will support it. It is probably just nonsense. The Lakers right now have quite a number of point guards already. I do not think they will sign Schroder if they are in the move to get Chris Paul.

Also, Chris Paul is chasing an NBA Championship. I do not think moving to the Lakers will be the best move for him, He has a better chance to get a ring in Phoenix than in the Lakers. Lebron and AD are great and they could benefit from having a point god in their team but they have health issues. And if you add Chris Paul, they will be another old team that cannot keep up with young teams.

Anyone came across this trade posted on social media:

Jamie Malonzo to Ginebra in exchange for Arvin Tolentino, Jeff Chan, Prince Caperal, and Kent Salado.

Ginebra will also be acquiring Von Pessumal once NorthPort acquired him from San Miguel in exchange for future draft picks.

Can anyone confirm if this is true?

The Suns gave a good match to the Aces. It was a hard-fought battle. They were neck to neck up to the last few minutes. But when the aces took the 6-point lead, the Suns started to crumble. They were forcing shots from the 3, which was not their expertise. They had few possessions they forced a three that did not hit and some just total air ball.

Chelsea did a good job getting away from her defense. Riquna Williams was big help hitting crucial shots. A'ja Wilson remains a good leader and keeps reminding the team to keep focus even when they are in the lead.

Congratulations to Las Vegas Aces for their first championship. They deserve it.

But Brownlee can always make a difference, that's why Ginebra will always get him as their import. There are times in the past when SMB have a healthy Fajardo and yet Brownlee can still beat them. I think next to SMB, Ginebra will have a chance of winning a championship also, which makes this commissioner's cup more interesting to watch.

I also think that way. Brownlee does make a big difference. Aside from his athleticism, he also played a long time with Ginebra. They already know each other and have good chemistry. I do not know who the import of San Miguel will be, but I guess there will be adjustments between the locals and the import. While Ginebra will not go through that adjustment. We will see how these teams will perform once the conference starts.

IMO, they are so greedy if they will prevent players in playing overseas because it's a success of their careers.

But they cannot do it now because some PBA players are in demand abroad. They can do what they want once player sign a contract as long as it's written in the contract, however, they cannot prevent the fans of thinking that they are desperate enough to keep their players.  Sad
Players want to earn more and get’s more experience abroad, it can easily be done once you are free from any contract but if you are still under the contract, the association won’t allow you to play to other teams or in abroad that is how it works since then. That player should know that the moment he signed the contract, SBP can’t be blame here since they are not preventing players here to play abroad, it’s just that they are implementing the rules and regulations especially if they are under the contract.

Aside from Ravena, I cannot recall any player who played abroad bridging a contract. They are professionals and they know that bridging a contract will hurt them very much. Luckily for Ravena, his issues was resolved that is why he is still playing in B league. I am not just sure how the ironed that out. Maybe someone here knows.

This is a classic, each team winning each others picked map.  Astralis will surely win Nuke over Heroic unless they have completely lost all their previous strength.  The live match says they might which is unfortunate they have lost one of their best maps, depends on the live odds (was over 2x for Heroic win).
I had the sides mixed up, Astralis did well on T side and somehow are looking awful on CT side; defense like warm butter.  Astralis are actually kniving each other in spawn, tragic  Grin  however they did break the heroic momentum bringing the chances back to even and live odds for heroic go to 3x almost (eco rounds, lots of death crowd overreacts noobs Tongue)

Heroic won the last map with an impressive round 28. Their resources were sabotaged by Astralis, Cadian with no armor and only with a pistol juke around astralis and made an awesome play. Then Jabbi denied 2 CT from disarming the bomb with just a tec-9, that was awesome gameplay. That should go to the highlights. What a way to end the series.

And with that, Group C has ended. Mouz at the top while Heroic and Complexity ended 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Im rooting on T1 to get the spot on TI11 but unexpectedly Talon is really strong and same goes with Polaris.

well, I think everyone was rooting for t1 to get the ticket to TI because of Ana and Topson but they were not able to carry the team. There is just too much to work on in T1. Draft picks, communications and everything. They look good when playing with the less competitive team but when faced with some teams that know how to counter them, they failed to adjust in-game. They still have a few days to work their kinks out and hopefully come to Last Chance qualifier stronger.

I'm thinking, what if Westbrook will fail again and Dennis will provide what the team needs from Westbrook? For sure, he will get a big reward for that, will be offered will a big contract while Westbrook is gonna be up for a trade. It's weird but it's possible as Dennis is just a consistent player, more if he is given more minutes.

He is an unrestricted free agent after this season. I do not think the Lakers will be able to trade Westbrook because of the amount of his contract so I think he will be with the lakers this whole season. Unless the lakers are willing to pay for his contract and buy him out. That is the only thing I can see that could happen since they cannot trade him. They are amassing some good point guards with Bev and Schroder. That could be their plan.

It looks like the Lakers' management is obviously up to something. At least for me, it was a surprise that they first announced the signing of Beverley, and now they decided to sign Schroeder as well. So the Lakers have a lot of point guard players on the roster right now. I guess the Lakers will either trade Westbrook or keep him but reduce his playing time significantly to use Beverley and Schroeder more.

I have been trying to figure out what they are trying to do on their team but to no avail. It is hard to figure them usually at offseason. They still have a few days before the season begins so we might still see some acquisitions or trades happen. We will see what they are up to, hopefully.

Are you hiding your gambling activity from your loved ones, family or so?
Or are you being 100% open about gambling?

 Huh

I do not keep it a secret. My wife knows my bets and gambling habits. It is not good to keep this thing a secret. Your family can keep track of you if you are already going overboard in gambling and help you control it. My wife also gambles and do bets from time to time, so we keep each other in check.

I do not know why others feel that they need to keep gambling a secret. They should not be ashamed to do it or get help to stop if they need it.

Entity bringing us a smooth win Grin I also manage to get in before the start of the match but I only took the -1.5 handicap after watching Talon vs Polaris go through all five maps.

Guess I was the only one that was so optimistic with Entity winning it straight 3 games huh but glad that you guys get a piece of this profit. Its clear that Entity would won though and its a no brainer that bookies are still giving away decent odds especially after Team Secret had to go through hours of playing before the final game

These players are normally used to playing long hours, so it is normal that the bookies give decent odds even if they played long game against Team Liquid in the Lower Bracket Finals. So many teams have overcome that adversity. I do not know that Team Secret will be affected so much with that. It is either they are tired, or Entity is just too good for them. I am guessing that latter.

With the qualifiers finished, I guess we're back to some CSGO while waiting for the LCQ and Worlds which is a week or two from now.  Smiley

I guess I will, there isnt any DOTA left to bet until TI so yeah

About a month without DOTA, that is a long wait before we see good DOTA again. I think I will also be watching CS for a while. Not really a fun of this game but I enjoy some games sometimes.

I am taking the Aces in Game 4 in their series against the Sun. I believe that Chelsea Gray will be able to adapt against the defense of Bonner if Sun will replicate the same defense they had last game. I also believe in Coach Hammon to be able to address the things they lack and counter the defense and offense that the Sun has shown. The Aces know that if they lose this game, it will be an anybody's game in Game 5. They do not want that to happen and will try to close this series at this game. Good luck with your bets!

1496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Choices: Gamble or Help the poor ? on: September 18, 2022, 10:05:16 AM
In order to understand the psychology of gamblers, i have decided to come up few questions for discussions, and here is the first one.

Suppose that you are a responsible gambler who have allocated a certain portion of money to gamble each month. Now you came across a poor person/family who is in urgent need of money. Will you quit the gambling for that month and give the allocated money to the poor family or will you prefer to gamble as you can't live without gambling ?

I am always ready to chip in to help the person in need. But I will not give all the money already allocated to something.

I am sure I am not the only one that can help the family. There are governments and their friends. I can give them the extra money that I have to help alleviate the monetary problems that they have. I follow strictly my budget, so the money already allocated for my gambling, or any money already allocated will not be touched.

1497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 18, 2022, 09:42:26 AM

Quote
He added that he didn’t think he gave everything he could to the Lakers as he played alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis, who he considers “two of the best players in the NBA.” Schröder continued, “At the end of the day, I feel like for me, personally, I got to be comfortable in the environment I’m in. I love the Lakers organization and they did great things, but I think for me, and this is just business, I don’t think I fit in 100 percent.”

https://hypebeast.com/2021/9/dennis-schroder-explains-why-he-turned-down-84-million-usd-los-angeles-lakers-deal-boston-celtics

So when he turn down that $84 million contract, him and his agent says that he is not a perfect fight with the Lakers.

And now he change his tune, and agreed with a minimum contract? What a sudden change of event, isn't it. From "I don't what to play with AD and Lebron because I can't evolved and i don't need that money, to now, I'm fine with $2 million, show me the money!!!".

They just wanted more money, so they came up with that alibi. But they got karma and he got injured and he never got the payday he wanted. Now, he is scraping for whatever the Lakers want to give to him.

He is still very young and if he shows that he still got the skills to become great he will soon get the pay that he wanted. Hopefully, he gets enough minutes in the Lakers to be able to show that. Otherwise, he will be scraping again next year.

Secret is down 2-0 and it is not looking good in game 3 as well. Pure is super farmed and Secret has a very hard time managing him. I think it will now end 3-0 in favor of Entity. Good game for secret. They are really worn out. Reso is not performing very well in the lane.

Kinda saw it coming before the game though. Entity beat Team Liquid yesterday like they were nothing, that was the decisive moment that I knew for sure that they are going to qualify and on top of that its Team Secret again on the grand final so yeah took -2.5 maps without any hesitation on there. I would have gone for -1.5 on Entity if it was Team Liquid instead

It is now official; Entity got the ticket to TI 2022 in Singapore while Team Secret and Liquid will have to go through the last chance qualifier. It will be an uphill battle in the Last Chance qualifier since a lot of good teams are also qualified to go through it. But I think these two have a high chance that they will be able to qualifier through the Last Chance.

It will be an all-out rumble in the last chance qualifier.

The teams qualified for the Last Chance are:

1. Nouns - North America
2. Wildcard Gaming - North America
3. Infamous - South America
4. Tempest - South America
5. Team Secret - W Europe
6. Team Liquid - W Europe
7. Outsiders - E Europe
8. Na'Vi - E Europe
9. Xtreme Gaming - China
10. Vici Gaming - China
11. Polaris - SEA
12. T1 - SEA

What is your pick to win the last ticket to TI?
1499  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: September 17, 2022, 10:54:48 PM
I'd like to see those independent teams dominating the conference like what it was few decades ago.
Now we are only seeing MVP and SMC in the Semi-Finals. That's what's happening for years already and it looks like there is no way that this will stop.

I like to see independent teams dominating those SMC and MVP rather than seeing Ginebra dominating again in the Commissioners Cup. The problem with the independent teams right now is that, they can't afford some imports unlike MVP and SMC where they can just get any import that's fit to their team. I mean there are some players who SMC and MVP can't afford but comparing to independent teams, they are way behind that's why they can't dominate in a conference where there is an import.

I'm still hoping that balance of the roster in each team and competitiveness will rise again in PBA.

That is what we all want to see happen but in the current situation, it is far from happening. PBA is too much in favor of the team of SMC and MVP. Unless something drastic is done to control these powerful companies from farming other teams of their talents, then we are forced to just be satisfied with what PBA has to offer.

What PBA needs to do is to focus on making the league better again, there's a lot of issues that they need to address PBA should start working on that.
They're not addressing it, they only addressed it because they're being called out and that made them nervous. The answers given by the comms aren't even enticing to hear and they only think of themselves. I just hope that B League would boycott the meeting that they'll about to have with the comms.

What would boycotting the meeting do? It will just worsen the relationship between the two leagues. It is better if they can come up with something that would benefit both leagues and the players as well.

I do not know if it is still in effect, but I think college players who do not want to get drafted into PBA are not able to play in PBA at all. If they can come up with a resolution that players can join b league and can still play in PBA after their contracts expire, it will be good for the league and the players.

Well , until TI official games we have a BO5 between Secret and Entity and if I had any money for spare to place a bet , I would have go with Secret to win this series and go to TI ,even if Entity is the superior team right now and StormStormer is a beast in mid lane.  Odds also favors Entity with 1.42 vs 2.70 for Secret.

It is not looking good for Secret though. They are down 2-0 in matches, 1 more win for Entity, and its GG for Team Secret. Game 3 is not looking good for Secret as well. SF is very farmed right now and Entity is dominating the game. They still have a chance to come back to this game but it is very slim. Team Secret is exhausted from the previous series and Entity is punishing them for it. It will take every ounce of their willpower to come back from a 0-2 deficit.
