1481  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat Vs Cryptocurrency, which would you choose? on: June 04, 2020, 10:55:57 PM
I like how cryptocurrency changes everything and made a huge development in our technology but fiat is more reliable than having a digital asset.

Fiat is somehow used to have good economics through the circulation of money in the bank that gives the ability to control our economic rate.

Cryptocurrency is different, now, it's being used on the investment side, for us to grow our money. Cryptocurrency in a payment method is just one of the applications of it.

1482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are afraid on investing to bitcoin? on: June 04, 2020, 08:49:28 PM
The fact that bitcoin is volatile, they're scared of investing in having a negative thought of price dropping.

People are also not aware of what's the technology behind bitcoin, blockchain. They aren't aware that blockchain was one of the powerful and modern technology that should we adopt right now.
From my experience with people I know and have met in this sphere, it's a combination of people not fully believing in the long term viability of the coins and or the stupid comments of things like "it's only used by criminals blah blah" that makes them not want to stay in it for the long haul. The media hasn't helped in pushing certain negative stories or making it seem like it's this spooky thing the average person should be wary of, as opposed to promoting it as a very viable source of wealth and a way to change the world.
At first, I thought bitcoin was only used in illegal transaction but then I tried to study about it and I didn't regret me entering this crypto world, it has so many knowledge.
1483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is good for environment on: June 04, 2020, 08:21:28 PM
The fact that GPU/CPU has a wattage of 600-1200 watts that consumes a lot of electricity, then what more in an ASIC mining rig?

Based on what I read, ASIC mining rigs have a power consumption of 1000-6000 watts so obviously, it's not an eco-friendly thing. Some countries that use combustion byproducts are not really good for the environment and especially for the health of the people. Most of the source of electricity has an environmental impact on our air, water, and land, which greatly affect many things.
1484  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Panahon Na Nga Ba Maging "Cashless Society" ang Pilipinas? on: June 04, 2020, 08:02:48 PM
Looking at the information above.
And yes, people will still stick to what's traditional, even the 1st/2nd world countries, hindi pa masyadong ma-adapt yung paggamit ng digital money, nasa business side pa rin ang paggamit ng digital money.

Even using gcash na nirerecommend gamitin kapag isa kang member ng Makatizen sa Makati City, hirap na nilang gamitin especially mga matatanda na hindi lumaki sa gadget. Based ito sa na-experience sa relatives ko na hindi pa marunong mag-cash out or cash in kahit na madali lang ito ay need pa rin sila gabayan kasi natatakot na baka mawala pa ang pera. So matatagalan pa bago mangyari ang cashless society, posible pa lang ito sa virtual world if magkaroon man in the near future.
1485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: an important reminder: don't get killed in this bull run and protect yourself. on: June 04, 2020, 04:16:44 PM
I always set up ranges on when should I convert my BTC or hodl incase of dump 'cause we knew that BTC is volatile and everything is possible.

Pompliano just didn’t say when that bull market at least roughly starts, maybe every time the price of Bitcoin reaches $10k? Although I have nothing against giving advice, such influential people should be careful when making such statements. I can't judge if this was just a joke (it seems from some of his comments), or he just doesn't understand what a bull market is.

I advise you not to follow the advice of these so-called experts, they are just influencers who make money through social networks with such or similar statements. Bull run can probably happen at any time, but if we take into account the current economic situation in the world, this is a time period in which such chances are very small or almost non-existent.
Exactly! If  I should start afresh today in Bitcoin I would go back to one thing only: studying! When I first met bitcoin there was not so much good material around, apart from this forum which has been my Bitcoin University.
If one realises the true nature of BTC that's enough. From there it is only a matter of stacking as many sats as possible!
Same with me, I guess if I studied crypto earlier maybe I've earned a lot because of my knowledge of identifying the status of the market. And knowing the fact that even bitcoin is volatile, it will still surge sooner or later, just have faith and trust on it.
1486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One mistake and l have lost all bitcoin on: June 04, 2020, 03:51:44 PM
It's a wrong idea to invest in an asset because of what other people said because some YouTuber's statements are just for promotions. It's fine to base your decision but take it only as advice, not as your solution to your current struggles in the market. We have different opinions in cryptocurrency, take them as your guide and always apply risks on those guide said by the others, because sometimes those statements are produced by the hype of the asset. It's a lesson learned for you.
1487  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Telegram groups for Bitcoin on: June 04, 2020, 03:05:01 PM
Recommended with telegram channel have many member discussing about bitcoin and altcoin, I got this on Binance telegram group more than three hundred thousand people there are talking about cryptocurrency every minute, you can join this group and make discussing which one best and worth coin to buy because many people have good source information to analyze which one coin must we buy.
Having a group in telegram is one of the greatest ideas to share information also I have a group on my local that they are sharing a lot of ideas what are their thoughts about this kind of coins and this is will be working or not also they have a lot of information that helps a newbie to keep aware and avoid those kinds of phishing website and scamming platforms.
Telegram group was one of the messengers that secures your private information since there's a lot of anonymous bitcoin users, telegram messenger is one of the key for communication with the community. Some of the messaging apps that exist today aren't multiplatform, if you wanted to use the application in PC, you must download it first on your smartphone. It shows that telegram is a multi-platform application 'cause it's not a hindrance to your preferred platform, smartphone, or desktop. It also has a new channel feature and we can add a bot, it makes the community smoother with bots. That's why telegram is one of the greatest idea that's fitted for cryptocurrency.

1489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble to escape your problem? on: May 29, 2020, 07:07:40 PM
sometimes I do. Actually, when I use to gamble I get so much involved into it I forget all the reality. So sometimes when I get bored with my life or face any kind of problem I find some temporary relief in gambling.
Same, there are 2 things I do to relieve stress and escape from my problems is to play gambling and online games. I easily forget the problems that I'm facing and it'll clear my mind to think a better solution to my problems. We're lucky that we have these things, which is gambling, that helps us to overcome stress because the others don't know what to do if they got serious problems in their life.
Sometimes I do, but it's not helping me at all, and if I lose a huge amount of money after gambling with the problem, I have another problem coming out, so it's better not to gamble when you have issues or problem and just do other things like watching a movie or play your favorite games or chat with a friend but never gamble when you have problems.
Gambling on smart phone that uses in-game money might help you to avoid spending real money.
1490  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Learn about Patent and Intellectual Property. (Bitcoin) on: May 29, 2020, 06:02:33 PM
... So there is no one to claim any ownership on Bitcoin. Bitcoin is about the community. And its value so high because it is community-driven project itself.

No one disputes this. Bitcoin is created for General use. But we are talking about the fact that the "Bitcoin" trademark can not be used by scammers in their scams. Because trust in bitcoin is automatically transferred to other projects that contain the word bitcoin in their name.
Agree, it seems that people tend to use the term bitcoin or cryptocurrency to take advantage of those people who lacks knowledge about this. There are some countries that still don't trust bitcoin but when they get interested on it, the thing is, they're the common targets of those scam platforms. They're getting baited when they get curious about investments and get attracted to huge ROIs which is probably HYIPs.
1491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stop calling it DICE. on: May 29, 2020, 05:38:19 PM
Normally  you have to choose in between 10000 numbers not like dice which has only six sides.

Try to search the complex term about dice not the easy one.

If you search about dice in google, the basic and common definition will show so that even average persons can understand what it is.
It's just like comparing the google definition into a book, there will be always a complex but precise definition on old books than google definitions.

Look on this Wikipedia definition, it says that the traditional dice is a cube, so meaning there are different kinds of dice too.
Quote
Dice may also have polyhedral or irregular shapes and may have faces marked with numerals or symbols instead of pips. Loaded dice are designed to favor some results over others for cheating or entertainment.
1492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [DISCUSSION] How to overcome a big loss in gambling? on: May 29, 2020, 05:10:27 PM
Accept the fact that you did lost your money so don't try to chase the money back again in that case you will reduce the losing money but you can't bring back your lost money. On the other hand managing your time is important, just try to distract yourself from getting into gambling more often.
Maybe trying to chase in such moderate bets only? I guess it'll work in that way. It's hard to accept especially if it's huge money that you've lost, so definitely, there's a thought on your mind to regain it again and no one can stop you. One of the things that will stop you is to have a wake-up call on your mind that you need to stop gambling, like having worst-case problems, in that way you will realize where your life's gonna end.

In the current scenario, it's hard to distract yourself away from gambling since the only thing we can do during quarantine is entertainment, and one of those is gambling.
1493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be a professional gambler on your own way. on: May 29, 2020, 04:18:18 PM
The way to make money with Gambling always goes through good psychology. It is not always possible to make the right move at the right time. However, it is very important that the mistakes do not follow one after another. Especially in games like blackjack, you have to manage the whole game very well.

I suppose you are talking about your own psychology.
In this case, the only thing that will be important for you is to adhere to the strategy. Indeed, in the case of blackjack, nothing more than mathematics works.
You must understand your chances at every moment in time in the game, and not make mistakes. The main thing is not to drink, but professional players know this.  Cheesy
You must calculate the probability or chances you have in each round, that's the only thing that will avoid you for a huge loss.

But if you're just gambling without and references and basis like probabilities of winning, it might lose your money. Games like blackjack and poker require a strategy for winning but not all of it might work always.
Here are some kind of blackjack basic principles and strategies; https://wizardofodds.com/games/blackjack/strategy/4-decks/
1494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESPORTS - predictions and tips (Dota 2, CS:GO, LoL) on: May 29, 2020, 03:41:49 PM
I bought battle pass recently and will wait for the sale of its levels so I can reach the level where I will gain the arcana of wraith king.

The idea of gaben to put 2 personas and 3 arcanas is very interesting so it'll make a huge pot of price this upcoming TI.

Now, this is the current prize pool for the next TI. - $10,670,223

Good luck finale! The WK arcana is very awesome as it's like a tribute to Skeleton King(WK) of Dota 1. They always create something new every battle pass and it's surely biting us, the Dota 2 fans. Phew! $10.6M within just short time.
Thanks @sunsilk!
I'm also aiming for that physical item of aegis, hoping to reach 1000 if ever there's a sale. I'm ready to spend just in case there's a sale of levels, this is also a support for the upcoming TI!

I am new to esports so... What the fuck is battlepass, why is it so big deal and does it in any way affect future DOTA 2 bets?
It's somehow related to the tournaments where we put bets right now. When you bought battle pass or you level up it by paying money, it's also a contribution to the prize pool of the TI which is a major event of dota 2, where most of the gamblers wait for this event but sadly, it was canceled due to the pandemic.

Prize pool is getting bigger, players will be hyped and will practice more so it'll be difficult to bet assuming that all of the pro players are strong because they're motivated due to the huge prize pool.
..and besides, It's still a discussion and it's getting wider.  Roll Eyes
Well, let's not talk about battle pass anymore, let's just focus on the upcoming matches. haha

1495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are afraid on investing to bitcoin? on: May 29, 2020, 03:30:35 PM
If you buy a bitcoin in the price of 9000$, yes it may drop, but we have clearly seen that this is what it does. It goes up and down. If you have 1 million dollars and buy 100BTC  (900.000$) then the only thing you have to do is wait. Because someday it will pass that number and you will have profit. Am I wrong?

Yea, someday it will pass but you think after buying in price of 9000$ if it goes simple slack how many lose you have to bear you can't imagine as you investing 100BTC. Yes if you have enough money you can wait for that time when it will recover. But i think maximum investors come to market for short time investment and profit also. So this is very unfortunate word for them.

thanks.
People are just here in the crypto market because of the trend especially when they attracted to the bitcoin halving.

That's the problem for most of the investors in crypto, they thought it will give them instant money. I keep saying that it's not a good idea for investing in the $9k mark since there's a possibility for a drop, they'll just lose their money if that happens 'cause they're not long-term investors.
1496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Vaccine against Covid-19 should be made before sports events will take place? on: May 29, 2020, 02:53:58 PM
It is sad to see the scene with the mannequins as an audience.
you will not feel sad if you understand the situation, at least there's something the players can see and they'll condition their minds that its the fans supporting them.
Athletes can still play without an audience, IMO, it's just an additional boost to their confidence for them and probably there's no pressure on it since they knew our situation right now.

How about eSports players, they're just playing online tournaments without any audience or fans right now 'cause the current pandemic affects also the major events of eSports like Worlds 2020 and TI10. All of those players knew that this is for the best and shouldn't think about themselves. It's kinda selfish to think that they need audience to boost their confidence.
I think there is no need to go to that extreme. The sports that are being resumed will be done behind closed doors and so that everything goes well in terms of contagion is that they are carried out under strict preventive measures. It is the only way while the world waits for a cure.
It's necessary to be in close doors and no audience that is allowed to watch, of course aside from those who are really needed to be in the venue.
They call it the new normal as the vaccine will take a year to develop, so we should adjust and get used to it, but still put in our mind that this is just temporary.
Agree, any sports event should be implemented in close doors. If you knew how dangerous COVID-19 is, you will know that it's best to follow this kind of measure 'cause athletes are people too, they aren't superhumans that can't be affected by the virus even with a single drop of it from the audience.
1497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESPORTS - predictions and tips (Dota 2, CS:GO, LoL) on: May 29, 2020, 02:31:30 PM
Damn! that's too hot, Valve you're always making things crazy. I guess most fans accepted it already that there will be no TI for this year. There's more to come by next year and we can enjoy watching and betting with the regional tournaments made by several orgs and Valve themselves.

I guess it is for the better of the players and the other people who will be part of it.

Since TI is delayed for next year, Battle Pass is released with 3 arcanas and 2 new personas. I guess we will be having another ATH when it comes to price pot of an esports event.
Expect that prize ATH for the upcoming TI. Have you seen the history of the Saudi Arabia Prince? one of the huge supporter of battlepass ever since.

I know right?

I thought that it might just be a meme or something made up by someone on the internet but I guess we can say it is true. The price of TI exploded to $8M+ in just 24 hours, take note, just 24 hours and since TI delayed, we still have a lot of time to build that up to something impressive.

1498  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you donate in a casino? on: May 29, 2020, 02:22:55 PM
I prefer donating directly to a charity program or organization that lends help to the front-liners and people affected by the pandemic.

Casinos are already rich, they can manage to implement charity by their own money.
They're earning a lot of money per day especially when they re-opened their establishments, a lot of people will go to the casino and play gambling.

So I guess it's better to donate to some organization that's true purpose is to help other people especially on this kind of crisis.
1499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are afraid on investing to bitcoin? on: May 29, 2020, 01:44:11 PM
You are correct, the only thing you have to do is just to wait.

But in your example, you are talking of a serious money invested in crypto, I think in real life you will doubt that, investing a huge amount of money, you have ensure that you have the knowledge and the skills to grow your funds, investing does not always result to a profit, regardless of what market you are investing, even in crypto, you could also fail as the market fail, the question is, can you afford to lose that amount you are planning to invest?
Yep, it doesn't mean you've invested a huge money, you will gain a lot of profit there, it's the wrong way of thinking. It just shows that they lack the ability to determine the flow of the market, in short, knowledge in investments and the market. Huge money invested on a specific asset is just a multiplier only, it'll grow multiple times when the market grows green. The market always have a possibility to go down.

We should always remember that there will be always a word "when" on investments, profit is not guaranteed.
1500  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My 0.1 BTC Journey on: May 29, 2020, 11:40:03 AM
I doubt stopping is an option, you already acquired 0.1 BTC which is hard to get by other people and you acquired it by the span of 6 months only.

Now that you've managed to achieve one of the goals you have, reaching 1 BTC is very possible and easy for you to get.

Just don't stop since you've already the masteries that includes all of those knowledge on earning a lot of BTC. Goodluck!
