The reason why I said "Poland most likely" is because that is an holiday that is really celebrated there (at least seems like that.)

That russian holiday is a bit strange cuz other sources say: Spring and Labour Day is celebrated in Russia on the 1st of May. So I am not sure if that is really celebrated at May 3.

In my opinion that's a broad assumption, while it's possible; I wouldn't just randomly pick a country based upon holidays when there are several countries with that same holiday - especially when a few messages back there was someone who wired money to btc-arbs and it went to an individual in Florida.
Obviously it's just a clue and no 100% proof *. But calling May 3 a holiday in the USA seems unlikely to me.

* just like me connecting this site to a previous ponzi PokerByProxy etc months ago was just a clue and no 100% proof.

They aren't even trying, anymore. Saturday a holiday (what?) and tiny Sunday results in advance...and with a $10 plus spread all day. They don't seem to even care about giving the appearance of legitimacy anymore, which begs the question...why continue the charade?

May 3 National Holiday (May-3rd-Constitution Day—Święto Konstytucji 3 Maja) is a Polish national and public holiday that takes place on May 3.

At least we know where this ponzi owner is from now.

Saturday   May 3   Labour Day Holiday   China
Saturday   May 3   Constitution Memorial Day   Japan
Saturday   May 3   Constitution Day   Poland
Saturday   May 3   Spring and Labor Day Holiday   Russia
Saturday   May 3   Cross Day   El Salvador
(actually above are all May 3 '14 holidays, but I think Poland is most likely?)

Too bad you never trusted my judgement, FreeJack

Why Poland? Is that just a random guess???
I googled "3 may holiday" and Poland came up: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/May_3rd_Constitution_Day

The other holidays are actually an edit in my post. But I agree it can be Russia or one of these other countries too.

Well their explanation is pretty clear.

Also there is already a topic about it: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=594744.0 Wink
1566  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: May 04, 2014, 01:04:13 AM
I'm just wondering, how can you host the site in Iceland, where both gambling is illegal (VERY strict regulation), and so is exchanging bitcoins?

Technically, by law, they could shut the servers down, but they don't? Am I missing something here, or I'm wrong about the bitcoin laws in Iceland?

Actually since some months the server appears to be in Romania.
1567  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Jeremy Clarkson and the BBC licence fee on: May 03, 2014, 01:49:19 PM
To be honest BBC has some great shows too. Human Planet, Planet Earth are truly amazing. And series like Have I Got News for You, QI, Little Britain, etc great humor IMO. Doctor Who, Sherlock also great series. Top Gear never got my interest though.

In Holland we mostly just have Dutch rip-offs from BBC/USA programs on the "government funded" channels. Then again, BBC def. has much more money.
1568  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Lost password to wallet.dat | 11.7 BTC | Willing to sell cheap offer on: May 03, 2014, 11:45:05 AM
I give you 0.001?

After this post the given address was still being used: https://blockchain.info/address/15Simt9rXvCLgfG7c3KcGWsWYrZfhGv6t1

So most likely a scam attempt ? Or he got his wallet/passwords fixed.

Anyway, no need to make offers Wink

That btw terminate my BTC travel here.... was a fun experience... lost a lot of money, not willing to try it again. Eventually once BTC gets better "securities" with a more trustworthy community i guess i ll try again.

Bitcoin has nothing to do with btc-arbs. Bitcoin with its blockchain is a great piece of technology and I'm sure it has a bright and a long future ahead. Will the value of BTC rise? Who knows, personally I bet it will. Will BTC die as a payment method? Never. Maybe in a long-term future when another crypto will take over.
Exactly. The idea of bitcoin is to have a trust-less payment method where you don't need to trust the bank or government. Trusting your bitcoins with a pretty obvious ponzi site operated by complete anonymous strangers, is pretty much the opposite of the principles of bitcoin.
1570  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best poker site(btc) on: May 03, 2014, 07:51:52 AM
Poker sites:

sealswithclubs.eu has the most players / activity.
pocketrocketscasino.eu is good if you like OFC or have DOGE.
betcoinpoker.com is relatively new but doing a good job with their tourneys.
gridpoker.eu some decent small tourneys, and also OFC

Disclosure: I did add some referral links in these above links. Not to get rich but simply cuz I was going to link to them anyway.
1571  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTCSTRAT - let's try to make a difference on: May 03, 2014, 12:28:03 AM
Lol. "giving up BTC". How about you stop giving your money to HYIP/ponzis and scams?

If you did a simple GOOGLE search on "btc-arbs" you would find the connections with it being a ponzi within a minute. Next time spend that minute before you "invest" 3 BTC somewhere.

You don't have to "invest" BTC in anything anyway, just buy it, hold it and use it to buy stuff from legitimate sites.

All HYIPs are scams because they will be perfectly fine and withdrawal UNTIL the moment it all collapse and then they scam everyone.
1572  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase SSL error on: May 02, 2014, 01:00:33 PM
No, I don't get that. So could be either of these situations:

- you are on public wifi and someone is trying to show you the wrong site to get your credentials

- someone is trying to DNS hijack coinbase, which could be why your ISP did change the DNS to the attacker but my ISP (or OpenDNS actually) didn't

Either way, obviously never add exemption Smiley

You could try to use OpenDNS see if that helps. Obviously delete DNS cache etc.

edit: there can definitely be more reasons too. Just 2 common ones in my experience.
edit2: there are some people reporting the same today, like: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/24j62a/coinbase_down/
1573  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cheapest way to get money from bitcoin on: May 02, 2014, 07:04:35 AM
durrrr, you can pay me first my 0.05 BTC back from that loan of 1 year ago (and the ~5 other people you scammed on this forum.) Then use localbitcoins for cash if there is something left.

Cheapest? Sell here, in the currency exchange section, I guess.  That's one of my main ways of trading bitcoin to fiat. Smiley

This is not quite safety to trade here. You'd better to buy/sell in person or on the exhcange or if you do it on forum you'd better to use escrow (but it also means you should pay fees)
He scammed multiple people in that forum, also on his alt. accounts. I'm pretty sure he feels comfortable trading/scamming there.

The first reply to the first thread was written almost 3 months after Satoshi made it.  Cheesy
A 3 month wait for a reply on a forum is an eternity. Wonder if he gave up hope for the sites success at like 2 1/2 month after his post? lol
No.

That second post is just the first reply to that topic. There were other posts/topics before that. That post of February 01, 2010, 05:37:29 PM has ID #188. So there were like 188 posts in that 2 months.

heartbleed created two vulnerabilities that were exploited. First, the addresses for incoming Bitcoin deposits were altered.

As a security researcher I cannot imagine the heartbleed exploit leading to this. You can "only" read data in the memory (eg cookies to takr over user sessions) I really cannot think of a way to alter deposit addresses.

Seems like ponzi is lying once again, what a surprise.
1576  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Pilipinas (Philippines) on: April 30, 2014, 10:52:49 AM
It seems that you did put decent amount of effort in it and that you seriously want to make that coin. So good job on that.

I personally, however, do not really understand the idea and connection between a job platform and a "tribute to the Philippines country".

I will follow it but currently I definitely have my doubts. I btw also had my doubts about Dabs' whole "Send you ID" idea, but yeh, at least I saw the connection with the Philippines there :p

Disclaimer: I only own BTC and no alt-coins so I am not a big fan of alt-coins anyway.
1577  Economy / Gambling / Re: Coindice [Warning] + Free Download on: April 30, 2014, 12:17:10 AM
I never heard of this script. But I am a security researcher, if you want me to check this script, you can send it to me. We can agree on bounty per security bug only if I find some. Even the owner of the script can contact me I guess. In the end I will however not guarantee that it's 100% safe, but it should be possible to check it all code.

The formula (u+m)(u-m) makes a parabola. There is an OS called "Parabola GNU" so the answer is GNU.

Or maybe I am just going crazy and seeing patterns, logic and answers in everything Cheesy
