1581  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Looks like Mars One is a scam in the making! on: March 17, 2015, 10:13:04 PM
I haven't really been following it much, but from what I understand, this is a privately funded venture, right? If so, how can the volunteers really get mad for being asked to help with the expenses? IF the journey actually happens, I am willing to bet the people going won't be complaining about the food they will be eating or the water they will be drinking or the air they will be breathing. It's not really any different than someone having to pay for an airline or cruise ship ticket. Well, I guess the difference is that those two aren't usually permanently one-way  Cool.

I will concede that whoever thought this thing up should have had more of a plan for funding and training. And because he/she failed to do so, I seriously doubt this trip will happen.
Because there are standards in aerospace, that apply as much to a simple Cessna 150 as the hypothetical Mars trip.

Any venture or proposal can be measured against such standards.  It's totally reasonable to declare it a scam if it falls short of a reasonable level of compliance.

It's not only that, but the complete lack of disregard for the lives of people taking part should have been enough of a warning sign, it either meant it was a very unrealistic plan that was likely to fail anyway and they really would all end up dead or they were just fishing around for gullible and stupid people to fall for it. What amazes me is that there were people who actually signed up for it and weren't even intelligently considering what they were taking part in, I'm still more pissed off at the news organisations, particularly the ones that should know better like the BBC and so on.
1582  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Looks like Mars One is a scam in the making! on: March 17, 2015, 09:34:56 PM
Told you guys it was fucking ridiculous didn't I? There's no way that a legitimate space mission would operate this way or even bother going to Mars for a first project, the news organisations that all promoted this bullshit without vetting them properly should be ashamed of themselves, but as usual, they aren't going to make an apology and go onto the next news cycle hoping no one noticed.
1583  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is the European Union Dying? on: March 17, 2015, 08:26:55 AM
The amount of crap you post is unbelievable...

I can't believe there are people out there who genuinely support what is essentailly a bunch of unelected imperialists bent on taking over the whole of Europe through subterfuge and bankruptcy and then calling that a good thing. You can have free movement and free trade without pointing guns and threatening people you know, not being a gigantic asshole is a great start.... Oh no, I just agreed with the religious author of that article, I think I need to go and masturbate and support gay marriage more to even things out.

A vast amount of articles shared by OP have no, or very little basis in reality, it's pretty much Fox News style crap, as for this particular article, since EEC times, every year, some "bright" minds predict the end of the union, it's pretty much like bitcoin obituaries...

I find this particular quote amazing because it's wrong on so many levels, "For a nation to survive, its women must produce on average 2.1 children".

Hate him if you like, but just because you disagree with him doesn't make him wrong on things, I don't always agree with the communists/marxists but they do make some good points occasionally, especially about religion.

Would you like to explain how to scientificly measure your ''evidence'' because im a bit lost, thanks.

To translate, because he's that brainwashed BADecker has rewritten the definition of a scientist so it fits his religion better, kind of like how religious people try to re-write history and everything else in order to make the world try and fit in their respective religions, why do you think that they always try to wipe out other cultures' and beliefs? Too bad for him the real world doesn't ever work like that, otherwise why would all these other religions and beliefe systems exist in the first place if his was so perfect?
1585  Other / Meta / Re: Enough is enough! on: March 17, 2015, 08:02:18 AM
The moment you get rid of that moron is the moment you get rid of free speech for everybody, yes, he's a stupid prick as are a number of certain users I've got on my ignore list that hang around here, doesn't mean you can go banning people for it though, that's the resort of a fascist.

Personally, I find them very entertaining when they get like that, it means they know they've lost because they haven't gotten to you through their usual tactics Wink
1586  Other / Off-topic / Re: Scientific proof that God exists? on: March 16, 2015, 05:51:31 AM
"God doesn't exist." In my mind, it's absolutely bullshit to take that position with no proof. It's just  as Religious folks saying he exist. Both positions lack proof.

The problem is god existing is in itself a paradox, if he's all powerful and invisible how do we know he's there regardless? The point is the non-religious base their evidence on what's right in front of them and actually exists and the overwhelming evidence out there point against the existence of any gods, so while you're right in taking sides with certainty is stupid taking sides with the people who provide the least evidence beyond beheadings and shooting at us is even more stupid.

I remember seeing a great cartoon posted up here which perfectly describes the argument about god, oh wait! here it is!

no, I don't agree! You totally ignore the benefit  that the European Union brings to them! Although Germany holds different views from the other countries, the whole continent is united together to tackle the economic crisis in some peripheral countries. They are improving together.

They are not improving together in the slightest, countries that use purely debt to trade with other nations are extremely parasitic in nature, Greece is a perfect example of the way it practically has the EU hostage right now despite the fact that it's a failing state.

Is it BaDecker? Cheesy
1589  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are you a Communist, Socialist, Capitalist, Marxist? on: March 15, 2015, 06:51:56 PM
I'm an anarchist + capitalist, meaning anarcho-capitalist.
Meaning a clueless suburban American kid who knows jackshit about capitalism or anarchism.
Most if not all anarcho-capitalists are well off guys. If you were to be born in a poor ass place chances are you would not be an anarcho capitalist.

You do realise it makes people like you look like total assholes when you say stuff like that right?
1590  Other / Off-topic / Re: If BTC goes to $1000 or more, what would you do? on: March 15, 2015, 04:24:51 PM
1. The obvious choice: hoard like a squirrel before winter.
2. Start personal mining project since it's possible to profit then.
3. Invest some in loans/projects
4. Celebrate.

Ignore all these options and prepare for the inevitable sell off and profit taking, I always try to use Bitcoin as a currency, but we aren't there yet, only until I see the Euro collapse will I do anything with Bitcoin to celebrate Cheesy
1591  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why do web developers/programmers get paid so much? on: March 15, 2015, 01:44:10 PM
Click the big X on the top right of the screen and turn off your computer if you feel programmers are underpaid, because without them you wouldn't have been able to post your rant here. Programmmers and developers are largely responsible for building up our entire infrastructure and communications network, without them we'd still be sending things by paper and computer systems would be horribly inefficient.

I can tell you don't know much about programming/development Wink

Also, as long as somebody earns their money honestly, I don't see why it's anyones fucking business what they do with it, I wish people would stop trying to spy on others because the only conclusion I can come up with for that is they're jealous of the money being made.
1592  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Indonesian house listed for sale with free wife on: March 15, 2015, 12:53:38 PM
I'm waiting for Indonesians that I know are lurking on this forum to jump to the defence of their country Tongue that said, I guess that's one way to land a guy but she doesn't seem that bad O_O maybe she doesn't get out enough.
1593  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Where In The World Is Vladimir Putin? Strange Doings At The Kremlin… on: March 14, 2015, 11:44:01 PM
Putin's rival gets off'd and then Putin himself suddenly disappears? That's way beyond coincidence, unless of course he's just doing it to fuck with everyone for giggles.
1594  Other / Off-topic / Re: Private internet access question on: March 14, 2015, 11:17:44 PM
I'd like to know about them too actually, I'm looking for a good VPN as well.
1595  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-03-13] Video Fox News: JPMorgan’s Blythe Masters bets on bitcoin on: March 14, 2015, 11:31:54 AM
Is the strong positive news cycle getting a bit out of hand?
Why is the mainstream news "promoting" Bitcoin so much?

Because their masters have started buying it now since they've made enough people dump it Tongue too bad they're playing by our rules now, they won't win.
1596  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Senator Graham: I would use military to force Congress to vote my way on: March 13, 2015, 09:57:39 PM
Now that one is a quote of the week
Right up their with the Greece politician that said let ISIS in if you don't bail us out ^^

The more people turn against them, the more these morons show their true colours, the UK elections are going to be pretty interesting and funny for me Tongue
1597  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Senator Graham: I would use military to force Congress to vote my way on: March 13, 2015, 06:09:00 PM
You guys seriously need to boot these lunatics out of office.
1598  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Greece threatens to release jihadis into EU!!! on: March 13, 2015, 11:32:49 AM
It is not threat. It is self defence.

They just don't have the balls or individuality to leave the EU and are trying everything they can to appease their masters, it's really amazing how some people actively want to be treated like shit for the rest of their lives because they're too afraid of an uncertain future. I hope the Greek people grow some brains and realise these politicians aren't on their side, but these leaders don't elect themselves sadly.
1599  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Canadian Town Bans Spitting, Swearing And Gathering In Groups Of Three Or More on: March 13, 2015, 11:29:12 AM
You know, I was going to get angry, but then I realised that this is one of the perfect targets for people on the internet to mock, nothing could be more deserving.

Well I would've thought just making a worldwide release would make more sense rather than picking a country, because it's Bitcoin but that's just me.
