1601  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to stay away from gambling? suggestions ? on: January 30, 2016, 01:45:29 AM
Stuff that distract you from gambling: Kids, family & friends, hobbies including gaming (at least you'll be addicted to that rather than addicted to losing your money)

The problem with distractions is that it takes just a second for you to gamble, and you may end up losing quite a bit.
It is important to restrict the access to money which can be used in gambling.
1602  Economy / Gambling / Re: Is investing in BTCJam considered a form of betting? on: January 30, 2016, 01:42:19 AM
I would say sit on your bitcoins until less risky options pop up.
No sense in losing your principal.  Smiley

1605  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Chess forbidden in Islam, rules Saudi mufti, but issue not black and white on: January 23, 2016, 09:55:07 AM
Playing chess can improve your intelligence, and that makes it hard for someone to brainwash you. This was probably the reason why the Wahhabi cleric banned chess. Any idea about the next targets? Here are some of them:

1. Muslims banned from taking bath
2. Muslims banned from using condoms
3. Muslims banned from drinking pineapple juice
4. Muslims banned from reading and writing, using any language
5. Muslims banned from wearing clothes which are not plain-white.

No heterosexual sex?
That should solve a lot of problems in this world.  Grin
1606  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Chess forbidden in Islam, rules Saudi mufti, but issue not black and white on: January 23, 2016, 04:07:43 AM
It seems to be an old fatwa which has been reiterated.
As long as it is not enforced, people shouldn't have any problems.
1607  Economy / Speculation / Re: China central bank going to release their own digital currency good for bitcoin? on: January 21, 2016, 01:23:52 AM
The Chinese are buying bitcoins to circumvent capital controls.
That definitely won't be possible with the digital yuan.
1608  Economy / Speculation / Re: Welcome back $410 on: January 21, 2016, 01:21:54 AM
This sudden raise reeks of desperate traders, not a steady price increase.  I think we'll possibly bounce back up to 420 a time or two before heading back down, possibly sub-400.

$420 has now been breached.
Now we just have to wait for the direction, further up or down?  Smiley
1609  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it profitable to invest in betting sites? on: January 21, 2016, 01:19:28 AM
The biggest risk in investing in (online) betting companies is that the owner might run away with your money.
Other things to consider are the site's security practices.
If these things are settled, the house tends to make a decent return on bankroll.

Kd6 seems to be an unanimous choice.

1611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: January 19, 2016, 01:22:17 AM
Banks have deep pockets.
They can buy all the fintech companies they want and remain competitive.
1612  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will be stable in 2020 on: January 19, 2016, 01:18:27 AM
Really Bitcoin market will stabilize in 2020 ?
Is it because the reward is only 6.25 BTC/block?

It depends on what the price is.
If the market capitalization shoots up (to possibly a trillion $) and the holding of bitcoins is widely spread, then bitcoin may be stable.
1613  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Hedge Fund on: January 19, 2016, 01:16:30 AM
It's impossible because hedge funds trade many different stock, not just Bitcoin.
You should do some research before asking a question mate.

Hedge funds are unregulated, pooled money investment vehicles, which can invest in just about anything.
Your assumption of them investing only in stocks is wrong.
1614  Economy / Speculation / Re: PANIC BUYING !!!!!!! on: January 19, 2016, 01:12:10 AM
the lower bitcoin goes I think is just more opportunity to pick some up at a good deal.
I love panic sellers.

The only problem is when do you go all in?
If you go all in at $300, bitcoin might then drop to $250.  Smiley
1615  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC reach $600 during the first month of the new year? on: January 19, 2016, 01:10:50 AM
I do not see $600 in January. If the price reach $500 by the end of the month, I will be very happy. It is already a good start.

well after this crash it wont be seen for a while we can expect slowly for price rise and then wait for some opportunities

You don't know that, just like you didn't know the crash was coming, the crash happened because of the news with hearn and cryptsy. You don't know if the next week there are good news that could boost the price up to where it was or even more, trying to predict the price because the sake of it, it's dumb.

Yes. Basis for some speculation can't based only in the current price because in my own view it really can't consider a source of basis. Anything can happen in just a short peruod of time and we see that multiple times.

Yes bitcoin prices are highly known for it's unexpected movements.
So, I still believe there are lot of chances for reaching $600 levels within this month also. Because there are lot of positive events around the globe.

12 days. 50%+ hike required.
I would say the chances are low,  no matter what the triggers are.
1616  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC is going back to $400 on: January 17, 2016, 07:09:33 AM
So the panic sellers lost more money because of not holding its coins. and the positive guys make a small profit margin from this

We haven't rebounded yet. We are still very much lower than where we were 3 days back.
So unless you sold your coins right at the bottom, selling wasn't that bad a strategy.
1617  Economy / Economics / Re: Why have Bitcoin instead of cash? on: January 17, 2016, 07:07:29 AM
Honderd procent I choose for bitcoin, but the only problem is that some stores that I go daily don't accept it.
I wish I just could pay all my things with bitcoin, but I need cash also.
Why bitcoin? Because is more safe, and you can pay bitcoin worldwide is they accept it.

Safe? Has your bank account ever been robbed? It has never happened to me or to anyone I know and I don't get why people are so afraid of it.
Chance of your account being robbed is smaller than of your bitcoins being hijacked by a virus or a hacker.

If you operate your bank accounts over the internet, they can be hacked as well.
The only advantage is that banks usually have insurance to cover mistakes at their end and can compensate you.
1618  Economy / Economics / Re: US mono bank group starts to spend money to attack freedom rises? on: January 17, 2016, 07:06:10 AM
Current clues: US-based alt-coin exchange is down / A previous google programmer starts to do strange act. Roll Eyes

What's your opinion?

Do they start to be afraid of the bitcoin and other community driven projects and the movements?

Why do you think a US monopoly bank is behind all this?
If they were really afraid of bitcoin, they will start lobbying the government.
That is the easiest way to crush the movement.
1619  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin and Porn on: January 17, 2016, 03:54:25 AM

1620  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Paid to gamble on: January 17, 2016, 03:51:18 AM
It is still gambling as you are spending bits of Bitcoin, which you earned from a faucet which you used your time on. I would consider it gambling.  Huh Huh Huh Huh

It is "technically" gambling, but it is not going to ruin your life.
So in that regard, it is okay.
