1641  Economy / Speculation / Re: FEAR + GREED & BITCOIN - Doesn't add up in 2019 on: May 05, 2023, 12:01:03 AM
The Fear and Greed Index (F&G) is a psychological indicator that tries to track the psychology of traders and is not necessarily associated with technical analysis indicators because it measures fear and greed according to many circumstances, some of which may not be directly related to bitcoin trading. I use the indicator in the case of fear because it is the emotion that controls the majority of people, just tell people that there is an epidemic and you will notice an increase in fever and fatigue, and therefore as soon as negative news is published, even if the price trend is not downward, the price will go in that direction.

Greed is not quite the same, use it after a rally or a lot of negative news as a tool to enter the market and buy low.
1642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Government's actions against crypto on: May 04, 2023, 02:37:33 AM
The US government and the cryptocurrency market are having a lot of ups and downs, and it seems like they're headed towards a very important conflict. This conflict will determine the fate of many people and companies involved in cryptocurrency. They might have to shut down or move to a different country.

Hence, the power of cryptocurrencies enables that it is decentralized and cannot be stopped due to regulatory pressures from a country, even if that country is the United States, and the markets began to interact positively with any news related to tightening regulatory restrictions, although they had reacted negatively to such news in the past.

But not all cryptocurrencies are unaffected by the US decisions:
  • Stablecoins: USDTeller and BUSD are both directly affected by the regulation.
  • Ripple: One lawsuit caused a significant change in the price of the coin.
We conclude that decentralized cryptocurrencies are the only ones that are not negatively affected by regulations.
1643  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the status of Bitcoin in Tanzania? on: May 04, 2023, 02:15:03 AM
Since you are traveling and you will not be able to wait to get a transaction, it is better for you to communicate with people from Tanzania, several people and make sure that they will convert the bitcoin into the local currency, and then the first thing you do when you arrive at the airport is to convert the bitcoin into the local currency and leave the amount of 2000 dollars in your pocket for emergencies .

Places where you can find Tanzanians:

  • Binance P2P
  • Bisq.
  • Currency exchange board here.
  • Question members of the Nigerian board.
1644  Economy / Economics / Re: food supply Blockchain technology. on: May 04, 2023, 02:06:17 AM
thing will stop the farmer from importing illegally 100 tons of carrots and labeling all of them as eco bio green ultra natural gluten free carrots!
Same for the meat industry, things get so complicated here because you simply have no way with a simple database to know if the said ingredients are indeed part of the mix that was used for your salami, this can only be done with a 24/7 monitoring of the entire facility with health inspectors at every step and thus, why the need for blockchain at all?
This is not the only problem, but sometimes the use of the blockchain increases the complexity of the problem, such as making it slower, more expensive, with difficulties such as the inability to delete and modify or the high transparency that can harm the industry.

Improving the blockchain here will be closer to those who try to use gold in electrical connections, as it is expensive, and will not give a fundamental change to the average user who may not be able to afford the price of the final product.
An improvement in one aspect and neglecting the rest will lead to the uselessness of this improvement.
1645  Economy / Speculation / Re: Halving effects, how long they will last? on: May 04, 2023, 01:49:34 AM
Every 4 years, we expect bull market just because of halving. What do you think when is this chain is going to broken? Ie, halving no longer equals that bull market is coming.

The rule is simple, you have demand and supply, both of which are the main drivers in determining the price. The halving has an effect as it will affect the supply side, and therefore if there is stability in demand or an increase in demand, the price will move to adjust this imbalance.

This will not happen within a day or a week, but on average from a period of 6 months to a year and a half, and it may not happen due to circumstances, but the effect on supply still affects the price as long as there is demand.

Historical data has shown that the demand for Bitcoin has increased, and therefore there is no reason why the price should not increase accordingly.
1646  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Restoring Seed Phrase Security Question On New Hardware Wallet on: May 04, 2023, 12:39:50 AM
If you are skeptical about the feasibility of hardware wallets, it is better to use air-gapped computer or format the current device and burn tails on a USB.

Quote
However, does the firmware protect you when you enter your seed phrase to restore in a new nano ledger device?

As long as you do not download firmware from an known source, you are safe. But do not try to seed your screen or try to restore it with any application.

Quote
as many of you are aware many laptops nowadays only have usb-c ports so you have to buy one of those port hubs that give you 1, 4 or 7 or even more usb a ports.  I'm sure you all know what usb a port hubs I am talking about?

Using a USB bus should be safe if you bought it directly and its components were not played with.

Quote
someone put something in your usb a or usb c ports, there would be issue?  Such as imagine someone manipulated your usb a or c port on your laptop or even gave you one of those port hubs for more usb a or c ports to use.

This type is known as a physical attack, and can do anything, so why not keep the hardware wallet in a safe place and assign a new device to it?
1647  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for May on: May 04, 2023, 12:09:51 AM
After the Fed continues to raise interest rates by a 0.25%s rate hike, to be higher than 5%, I expect the continuation of testing 26k and 24k as support levels throughout this month, with the absence of any possibility of a green candle that promises us to the levels of 30k.
The pressures in the coming days are at 27K. If they do not hold, we will not see 30K during the current month at least.

1648  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What will a mixer do under the mentioned situation? on: May 04, 2023, 12:04:05 AM
1. Do mixers know where they're getting a deposit from?
2. If yes, will they co-operate here with the officials and let them know about the deposit?
3. If they do, how will they stop the scammer from moving his funds out of their mixer?
Mixers with their current business model cannot continue because they need to provide high liquidity with small profits that come from service fees. If we take ChipMixer it worked on donations. However, when the site was sized, they had a wealth of money, which is an amount that is impossible for one person to own. Or that you get it from the profits.

What I am trying to say is that the mixing services are a front for a business and it is not necessarily illegal, but it exploits the money of depositors in mixing the money they have, and therefore it is more difficult to track, but it is an activity that needs high liquidity, which means a party that has a lot of surplus money.

That party may extend from a government to an illegal activity that wants to launder money.
1649  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where should I start ? Bitcoin & Coding/programming on: May 03, 2023, 02:03:25 AM
- Being able to reproduce what is inside the book "Mastering Bitcoin" https://www.amazon.fr/Mastering-Bitcoin-Andreas-M-Antonopoulos/dp/1449374042

Andreas Antonopoulos has a YouTube channel, so if you can't read his book, watching the videos will give you basic and fairly good information.
I will leave you the channel link at the end.

- I also want to be able to create a wallet where it changes from a 2-3 multisig to single signature after x months
I don't understand what you're trying to say here or why someone would need code like that, but in short, if you're looking for a time lock feature, you can try it here. https://coinb.in/#newTimeLocked

- I also work in Finance and SQL is required, that's why I want to master this too.

This is something different and I don't think you will learn it in a short period of time if you don't have a background in it. Perhaps it is better to buy some Udemy videos.

1650  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance.US again in trouble | SEC continues to harass offshore presence on: May 03, 2023, 01:44:49 AM
so crypto world will mostly stay along side of Binance instead of trust the judgement of USA courts because that makes no sense. I mean SEC could say whatever they want, it doesn't matter, Binance could just close off binance.us and move on and they would still be huge, they were in billions of dollars worth of valuation before, and they can go back to that anytime they want to.

I hope your trust in binance is correct, but I will not trust them too much. Binance manages billions of dollars and requires KYC. However, the simplest information such as its headquarters or organizational structure is unknown.

They cannot abandon binance.us, otherwise from the beginning they could have banned the United States from using their services. The American market is very large and has thousands of dollars, which is money that Binance needs this winter, so you will not easily think of giving it up.

That is if we ignore them attempts to evade compliance with the appropriate licensing in many countries.
1651  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for May on: May 03, 2023, 01:27:50 AM
There's a saying among old school traders that goes 'sell in May and go away' as historically May is a bad month for trading stocks and commodities.
This is not correct, or at least not true at the level of bitcoin.

This is a map of bitcoin monthly return from the year 2013 to the year 2022, which is a good period to guess what will be in the year 2023.

During the 10 months of May, there were 5 negative and 5 positive months, and the maximum correction in the negative was a decrease of 35%, and on the contrary, for the positive months, more than 3 times, an increase of more than 35%.
May is not bad at all.
1652  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Please check your binance address on: May 03, 2023, 01:21:02 AM
Click here to read their announcement regarding address expiration.
Thanks for the link, but when I read more details, I found:

Quote
Only impacted users who receive notifications from Binance are required to obtain a new deposit address and memo (if applicable) before the expiry date. Expiry date of old deposit addresses will be stated in the notification. Old deposit addresses will expire upon obtaining a new address.

quote from https://www.binance.com/en/support/announcement/existing-deposit-addresses-to-be-retired-2023-04-18-b5b3cff601af4ce88feaaf5ed1c0c7f8

Unless you receive a message in your e-mail, you do not have to worry, and even if you receive it, you will be able to use your old addresses. It is just an update and not a complete transfer to new addresses or a backdoor (someone access them private keys) in their systems that renders the old wallets invalid.
1653  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Dubai Mandates Licensing for Crypto Companies on: May 03, 2023, 12:58:35 AM
I have read the entire article, but it is a journalistic article of the development of legislation related to cryptocurrencies in Dubai, and it cannot be relied upon as a reference for those who want to know the regulatory framework in that country. Even talking about some laws was very superficial, but from what I understood, laws within the country differ from one emirate to another. And that the non-strict laws are of the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), which is the regulator in the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC) region, while 6 Emirates do not have clear legislation.
1654  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What d fxxk...my money is hooked mehn on: May 03, 2023, 12:17:36 AM
All the numbers that you see are an estimate of the ideal fees according to the number of transactions currently in the mempool, but they do not necessarily mean the actual amount. For example, you can set the fees at Medium Priority to be confirmed during the next 10 blocks, and the fee estimate was correct, but suddenly something happened, so that thousands of transactions were created after your transaction Thus, when mining pool found the block, they will choose current transactions with high fees, not according to your estimation.

I always use 15 sat/vb with no problem for all my bitcoin transactions.
Do not take it as a fixed rule, but if you are in a hurry, go to https://mempool.space and pay a fee that is 30% higher than High Priority. Here you will greatly guarantee that your transaction will be confirmed within the next half hour in the worst conditions.
1655  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are Promo offers from Twitter Influencers Scam ore serious offers? on: May 03, 2023, 12:01:00 AM
I checked the profiles but they seem more like professional promoters than scammers, but still i dont know what to think about it. they have between 100k and 1 million followers and the accounts are from 2009-2019 so they are doing this for quite a while. Since these people follow me, my impressions rised from 6 to 80 in more ore less 2 days so...what am i dealing with here right now? should i take them serious ore better just ignore them ?

share the twitter links of those accounts because I can buy an old account for less than $50 and then buy thousands of fake followers with a budget of less than a thousand dollars. Therefore, the number of followers, the blue tick, and the date the account was created do not indicate that it is a professional or scammer.

Look at the interaction of users with tweets, is it real interaction or bots, the date of the first posts, is it the same as the date of creation of the account or not, and the type of discussions, is it personal or can it be published only about NFT.

I wish you success.
1656  Economy / Economics / Re: Which do you prefer on: April 30, 2023, 12:47:53 AM
You will not get a perfect answer, because we are different in terms of housing and in our marital status, the decent income rate in our country, and whether or not the government salary covers expenses and personal obligations, as the individual commitment is less than having a family to support from an obligation to a large family of father, brothers, and so on.

If your main job covers your basic expenses, gives you some luxury, and you have free time to develop yourself, then it is very ideal, especially since it is difficult to lose your job in government work.

In your free time, you can trade, as it is not suitable as a full-time job, but only as a part-time job.
1657  Local / Petites annonces / Re: bitcoin algerie on: April 30, 2023, 12:27:16 AM

1658  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Importing trustwallet to Electrum advisable? on: April 30, 2023, 12:21:06 AM
Just a few days ago Trust wallet was found to contain a critical vulnerability which resulted in it generating private keys in an insecure manner, leading to funds being stolen.
link please? I still have some trust wallets that have about $1xxx in balance.
Is it a kind of physical attacks or is it a defect inside the wallet code.
I am active these days and I have not heard such news. Cry Undecided Undecided
1659  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Im trader new here but in the trading quite long Im looking for partners on: April 29, 2023, 03:19:16 AM
Such discussions will not lead you in any good direction. If you really intend to build strong relationships to help each other achieve success, all you have to do is share the data publicly and for free for a period of two to 6 months, then it will be a sufficient period to judge your experience and then you can make everything paid. And you will get a good return if you convince others to invest in your signals.

I do not advise anyone to accept the help of a third party in trading, it is a personal experience that encourages learning, and therefore enhancing your capabilities is your best option.
1660  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I don't know if am right or wrong about this. on: April 29, 2023, 03:07:16 AM
It is a mistake to consider trading as a sole source of income, and the risk of this error increases if the person supports his family or has to fulfill some payments such as the costs of a loan, a house, a car, or any financial activity related to a certain time, such as electricity bills and rent.

Trading can be considered an additional source of income if you can bear the risks resulting from it, and it is easy for you to lose that money, but you are ambitious and plan to make the most of that money and multiply it.

Here, trading will be acceptable, but with a rewarding financial return, due to the ease of controlling your emotions and not needing money with time restrictions.
