1821  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Clients getting turned down by United Kingdom Banks | PM on other quest on: April 03, 2023, 09:51:28 AM
I do not know anything about Sunak's economic policies or what he is trying to offer to the British economy, especially in the field of cryptocurrencies, but all that is happening now is an attempt to break the link between cryptocurrencies and banking, and thus avoid any financial crisis that could occur if cryptocurrency platforms go bankrupt.

Not accepting Bitcoin on these platforms dries up the liquidity in its hand, and therefore it will be easier to place regulations on it because it will not be able to withstand much.

What I am trying to say is that what is happening is an attempt to limit the growth of the market, close small platforms, and weaken large platforms. The continuation of this policy for several years will make the legislative regulation of digital currencies possible.
Or at least this is my analysis of what is happening.
1822  Other / Meta / Re: Can Bitcoin Talk forum launch its own coin? on: April 03, 2023, 09:37:22 AM
Your question leads us to another question, which is Why people try to create their own coins? , fortunately, there is a topic related to this question Why people try to create their own coins?.
Back to your question it is not the first time someone has brought up this idea

The reason for creating own coin will be to obtain more financial support, and it seems that the forum does not need that now, or at least there are ways in which the forum can get money other than creating a cryptocurrency.

** The strange thing about this topic is that writing style is similar to your writing style.

when launch possible i believe world most popular cryptocurrency make bitcointalk forum own currency.

1823  Other / Politics & Society / Re: There is lot's of confusion in people about whether it's allowed to invest or no on: April 02, 2023, 04:04:39 AM
According to what I understand, money is lending with interest or creating additional value for money without the presence of a cash cover, in addition to high-risk transactions where the possibility of losing money is closer to gambling, and this is the reason for banning bitcoin in many Islamic countries.

However, there is no clear statement prohibiting trading in Bitcoin, but rather jurisprudence from some to explain this, and when regulatory laws for Bitcoin are enacted and the exchange rates are stable, you will notice a change in tone from prohibited to permitted.

Almost some fatwas made it clear that this issue is permissible if it is compatible with the laws of countries.
1824  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin usage in crime activity. on: April 02, 2023, 03:55:10 AM
Almost all currencies are misused in one way or another. Centralization here does not mean that currencies will not be misused. Cash is used in most of the drug trade. As for central systems, if we take banks as an example, despite the strict regulations, we note that the banking system is used in money laundering and extensively in illegal activities.

These are a few examples of banking systems in countries that are known to be strict in censorship, let alone in countries whose system was designed mainly to hide money laundering.
1825  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How often does mempool get manipulated with transactions. on: April 02, 2023, 03:11:19 AM
If we take this chart, which shows the fees for the last 6 months, the source is from here https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#BTC,6m,fee

We will notice that changes in fees, even at their peak, did not occur between one block and another (assuming that the average is 10 minutes), but rather it took several hours during the day.
In other words, if you send your transaction to be confirmed within the next 5 blocks and the fees are appropriate (when you sent), even if there is a traffic jam, the probability that your transactions will be confirmed within the next 3 hours is great.

Some days ago, I tried to send bitcoin from my wallet to another wallet, I used the recommended sats blue wallet suggested but I was surprised my transaction didn't verify and when I check the mempool, the fee was around that range but all of a sudden it began to rise and my transactions was stuck for hours before dropping.
If this pattern is repeated, there are two possibilities, either you do not know how to set the fees in that wallet or you have modified the settings. Use https://mempool.space/ to control your fees and know that the appropriate fees are estimated, so if you are in a hurry, send higher than the estimated fees. for now send more it with more than 32 sat/vB and will be confirmed within 1 Hour.
1826  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is buying BTC now, the best option ??? on: April 01, 2023, 08:52:01 PM
The best choice for what?

For short term, it is difficult to believe that the price will move away at a large percentage, meaning that the best option was when the price was in the range of 16k to 18k, as you will achieve a gain of about 30%, with the possibility of increasing it to 50% if the price reaches levels of 40k with the possibility of a correction means that we may return to $22,000 levels.

But if you invest now, there are risks:

  • It does not seem that we will go far, and therefore 40k may be ATH for this year, and the difference between 30k and 40k is not considered a alot of gained.
  • A correction may occur, and thus a loss, as it is possible to return to the 19k.
  • Price stability as we have gone up a lot and thus freeze your money.

As for the long term, every opportunity is always an excellent opportunity to buy, provided that the long term is 15 years or more.
1827  Economy / Reputation / Re: This user is a suspected spammer! on: April 01, 2023, 08:25:53 PM
OP, you're a Hero member.  How did you get fooled by the April Fool's Day shenanigans?
This piqued my curiosity, so I decided to search a bit and found that the user had not attended April Fools before even though the account was created in 2013.

The reason for me to not use my account was a hacking attempt a few years ago and I was actually not willing to go through the complicated steps of getting the account back. For that reason the account was simply locked for the last years and nobody had access to it. Now that I had the time and will to get the account back.

This member was active until December 30, 2016 and then didn't post until 4/5/2022 so he must have seen my April fool before since this event started in 2015.

In 2016: @hZti  does not have posts in April.
In 2015: @hZti  contains no posts in the month of April.
In 2022: @hZti  first post was on 4/5, or 3 days after the April fool.

So, despite all these years, it is his first time. Grin Grin
1828  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: How to close a crypto exchange easily on: April 01, 2023, 06:21:00 PM
I made this list Crypto exchanges under SEC’s Radar!.

Over the past three months, the SEC has tracked more than 6 platforms, at a rate of two platforms per month. If they continue at this pace, then in less than two years some, if not most, platforms will disappear.

I do not know whether the financial position of this platform is so bad that any regulatory decisions lead to their closure, or is there a problem with the structure of the work of these platforms? I think that one of the most important problems is the lack of guarantee of clients' money or the lack of separation between their money and the developers so that the money is spent for their personal interests.
1829  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Starting my master's degree in bitcoin on: April 01, 2023, 04:52:02 PM
The title of the topic is not clear. Are you looking for a master’s degree in Bitcoin? If that is true, then few universities are now studying blockchain, but they give a bachelor’s degree, and therefore there are no higher academic degrees (PhD, for example) that can discuss the master’s thesis, in other words, there is no university Currently giving a master's degree specializing in Bitcoin.

If you are looking for a university that accepts Bitcoin, there are a number of them, but I think that you will need a lot of expenses in housing and travel, so the easiest solution is to convert Bitcoin into cash and pay the university.

I wish you success in your scientific career.
1830  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which is more profitable trading ETH/USD or ETH/BTC on: April 01, 2023, 04:22:19 PM
Can you give me insight, do you think trading via ETH/BTC is more profitable than ETH/USD? Please give me an advice.
Without a strategy, trading is not considered profitable in any way, and if profits are made, they will be temporary.
The trading strategy will determine which direction you prefer, and the market situation governs the extent of profits. When the volatility in Bitcoin decreases, the stable currency pair is the best, and vice versa.

So don't think of it as black and white, but rather that at certain times one pair is better than the other and vice versa.

Investing at rejection region using  ETH/BTC pair and move to ETH/USD when price stable

1831  Economy / Speculation / Re: The US government sold 9800 bitcoin on March 14 on: April 01, 2023, 03:35:32 PM
For those who do not know the details of the case, you can view it here: https://www.coindesk.com/policy/2022/04/22/seized-silk-road-bitcoin-to-clear-ross-ulbrichts-183-million-debt/
This is the file of the judicial ruling in the year 2020: https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.cand.368440/gov.uscourts.cand.368440.1.0.pdf

I think that the reason for dividing it into 4 batches is related to legal reasons, or at least until the procedure is completed, rather than being difficult to liquidate these coins, and perhaps the rest of the coins will be displayed in public auctions.

I don't think it's a very smart move. The logical thing to do would be to HODL those coins, but of course, they are not bitcoiners.
It's the US government where they can print dollars, why do they need to HODL 10K bitcoins when the GDP is over a trillion dollars?

When will the day come when Chipmixer coins will be sold. Grin Grin

I was surprised by SEC activity that gives to crypto exchanges, so I think such a list would be appropriate to track updates and discuss them.

1833  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hardware Wallets Lifespan on: March 31, 2023, 09:05:42 PM
Most of its parts are compared with the flash drive, so in normal room conditions and away from heat and dust, it is supposed to give you an average of about twenty-five years at least, during that period you may need to change the battery and screen several times.
I think that the heat and shocks are the ones that will shorten its life significantly
1834  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: how to see true total BTC balance _including_ change addresses on: March 31, 2023, 08:47:38 PM
Which block explorers support this feature? I tryed the most known ones (mempool, blockchain, blockchain..) and didn't get any result!
Even if this was possible, I wouldn't recommend doing it for privacy reasons. Better look up addresses one by one or import the extended pupbic key into Electrum and create a watching-only wallet to monitor your transactions and balance.
you can try this link https://www.blockchain.com/explorer/assets/btc/xpub/
I remember that some balance tracking services (CoinStats) provide this feature where you can add it and create a notification for all your coins (not just bitcoin)
I agree with you on the privacy part, but if you don't know how to run a full node through Tor, then your privacy is questionable, even if you use Electrum
1835  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex to shut its U.S operations on: March 31, 2023, 08:31:55 PM
Bittrex just announced a few minutes ago via Twitter[1] that they will no longer be offering their services to U.S customers and everyone should withdraw their funds before the 30th of April.
Isn't this a short period to withdraw money? Approximately there are only 30 days, on average the platforms give 90 days, which means that the matter is a judicial settlement or under pressure from the US authorities.
When will they decide to stop? Almost all crypto platforms have been affected by decisions from the United States in one way or another.
1836  Economy / Economics / Re: Hong Kong - Embracing crypto, new acceptance mode, $100 mln raiser on: March 31, 2023, 08:04:24 PM
What is the positive in the amount of 100 million dollars, it is true that it is huge for an individual or a small institution, but for a fund, I do not think that.
The only positive aspect is if that fund is owned by countries, otherwise it represents the fund's vision of investing less than 1% in high-risk investments, and here Bitcoin may be a good option, especially with expectations of a price increase during the next two years.
1837  Economy / Economics / Re: Should you save, when you are wealthy? on: March 31, 2023, 07:13:22 PM
The speed of converting what you save into money generates for you what makes you rich. Saving alone without financial knowledge is not enough, especially if you are from a country with a government that does not manage financial policies well, which will cause excessive inflation and an increase in real estate prices that make investment a dangerous thing.

  • If you have a commercial background, with a little risk, you can make a quick profit.
  • Bitcoin is one of the shortest paths if you are planning a long-term investment for more than 10 years.
1838  Economy / Economics / Re: Russia and others, move to use Yuan instead of dollar. on: March 31, 2023, 07:00:39 PM
Without the existence of a parallel alliance of G7 or G20, the moves taken by China or Russia will not succeed because they represent a partial link and not an integrated economic structure far from the dollar.

Countries will succeed if global economies are affected by the dollar or the US Federal Reserve does not take into account the problems of other countries when it takes financial decisions such as raising or fixing interest, but complete replacement will not happen until after a world war.

How will the local currency be priced if the United States imposes sanctions on those countries that lead to its depreciation?
1839  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Volatility on: March 31, 2023, 06:52:31 PM
What causes fluctuations is supply and demand and their distribution. In the early years, the supply of Bitcoin was large and the demand was fluctuating so that the number of people trading in Bitcoin was counted with fingers, and therefore it is easy to find that the price rose by 50% during the day.

If we reach a market capacity, for example, 10 trillion, and the supply is limited, then the demand will be shy, and therefore there will be no change in the price.

The whole secret is the distribution of live retailers.
1840  Local / العربية (Arabic) / Re: أول موقع تونسي يقبل البيتكوين؟ on: March 31, 2023, 06:31:22 PM
